i am kinda worried about bama being down about having to play a ****** team. it is a no win situation. if they win by a lot, it is expected. if it is a close game, they will get made fun of. if they lose, their whole season was worthless. the coaches are going to need to really pump them up for this one. but bama at 50% should be able to handle utah

I'm not going to bite except to say that USC's defense could play on both sides of the ball and still beat Penn State by 14.

yeah because playing in the pac-10 and bragging about your #1 defense is awesome

usc has yet to be tested on defense. well, actually they played oregon st and gave up 27 points and a loss. but oregon state sucks.

and don't say the big10 is down this year, we aren't bragging about anything like USC is

I'm not going to bite except

is this towards bama smashing utah? because if you think utah has a chance at winning, then I guess you are in for a huge surprise. it is sad when fans of their own teams can't admit that they stand next to no chance of winning

championship game - florida by 17
fiesta - ohio st by 10
sugar - bama by 21
rose - penn state by 3
orange - vt by 14

championship game - florida by 17 not a chance
fiesta - ohio st by 10 not a chance
sugar - bama by 21 not by that much
rose - penn state by 3 maybe
orange - vt by 14 good chance

I think UGA was in that position with Hawaii last year, but I don't see this Sugar Bowl being the same. Utah is not a bad team, so I see it as a hard fought game.

how in the world did Harrell not get an invite????????

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3760910

i hate the gators, i hate tebow

The votes must be so overwhelming for the other 3, so as to render him a non factor
It isn't based on how well he performed or what kind of year he had
It must be purely based on the votes

He had a great year

I think Bradford should win, but if Tebow wins, I will puke

yet colt brennan got to go last year. i just dont see the logic
nothing is worse than an award thats not based on merit but popularity:mad:

i think if i had to vote, itd be McCoy but by just a hair over Bradford

Maybe it is the top 3 vote getters only... I don't know the technicalities

I think a strong case could be made for Harrell, McCoy and Bradford all 3 more than for Tebow.
Although all of the teams are 1 loss teams... all candidates are not treated equally.

I would not be upset to see McCoy, but I think Bradford wins
Again... if it is Tebow... it will make me sick

I'm not going to bite ...

I will.

obey, you're an idiot. Have you ever seen a game of College Football? Any team can win on any given day, and Utah is no exception. Utah has a VERY real chance of beating Alabama. Is it a foregone conclusion? Of course not, but neither is a 'Bama win.

This BCS bias is why it's so difficult for great non-BCS teams to get any respect. I'm sure you said Boise State had no chance of beating Oklahoma either, eh? And don't give me any "trick play" nonsense, because Boise dominated the Sooners for three quarters until they let them back in it.

You better not hope 'Bama is only at 50%, because if that happens there are going to be a LOT of disappointed Crimson Tide fans.

I was sad to see that Shonn Greene wasn't shortlisted for the Heismann. All the guys listed deserve it, but it seems like the Heismann is for visible schools, not necessarily for talented players. Personally, I hope McCoy gets it, but that's because I like Texas. I think McCoy or Bradford should get it though.

I have to side with swift on this one. There are some awesome hits in that clip, but illegal hits should never be celebrated. They're cheap and cowardly.

You can call some of Rey's hits cowardly all you want, but that's the last thing you'd say to him in real life (or to anyone for that matter). Now that I'm through talking up our MLB (who, by the way State Penn, will be eating everyone who roams the middle of the field for an early dinner), you have realize that the ones you think are illegal hits are not cheap and cowardly. If he hit with his helmet, it's pretty apparent that he wasn't spearing or anything like that. Sometimes it happens, and it's regrettable when it does. Off the field, you won't find a nicer and more humble guy than Rey, and while he does try to hurt his opponents on the field, I don't think it's with any ill will.

Either way, here are some numbers you State Penn fans should be looking for on our defense.

10: Brian Cushing
58: Rey Rey
4: Kevin Ellison
2: Taylor Mays (Yes, the 6'3" 230 lb. free safety that runs a 4.25)
75: Fili Moala

Have fun.

Just ran across this if anyone is interested. It's the complete list of the coaches poll. Lists what each of the 61 coaches voted compared to actual ranking.

All I have to say is Gary Pinkel can lick me where I pee.

Quite an interesting look into the minds of the coaches and their bias
You can clearly see where they hold some grudges or ties

I don't like UT, but I think Colt McCoy wins the Heisman. He's been the steadiest quarterback and has a passer rating of 180. All three are great college players, but gut tells me McCoy.

Side note:
Canes go to the Emerald Bowl and beat Cal by 4. Not the bowl they wanted, but better than the no-bowl Canes have had lately. I see good things coming from Coral Gables in the future college football seasons.

I could live with either Bradford or McCoy
I think either one deserves it
Unfortunately, they will probably split votes and open the door for Tebow
Some will vote for him just so he will have 2

Concerning Miami... I think you have the potential to build again now. What you do with the young talent you have is still uncertain. You are recruiting well, but you have to translate it on the field. There have been flashes of brilliance, but too much inconsistency. That is to be expected with a young team. Another season of maturity is behind you. The next 2 years will tell the tale for Shannon.

Gary Pinkel rated my team #9 which is 6 ahead of the coach's avg. So I'm going to have to disagree with your plans for Pinkel.
