Where was I?

Just like Gator fans to crawl out of the swamp after it all over to gloat! :p
Where were you all season? Where were you after the Ole Miss loss?
Yes, you have had a good season.
But it is media love and hype that keeps you at the top more than anything.

Where was I all season? I don't reserve all my trash talk for MacRumors, and the truth is, I didn't discover this thread until recently. And I'll admit that the fact it started with gloating over Georgia's #1 rating did encourage me to participate.

Where was I after the Ole Miss loss? The same place as all other Gator fans. Crying into my beer, wondering how they allowed that to happen after dominating Miami and Tennessee (who wasn't expected to have a crappy season that year), and looking forward to the rest of the season.

You could argue that media hype helped UF leap over Texas and USC in the polls (I may choose disagree, but I'd hear you out). But you'd have a hard time arguing that the media helped them win games so convincingly after the loss to Ole Miss. Tebow's now historic post loss speech didn't garner media attention until he had already delivered on it, so you can't even claim that the media helped fire up the team prior to the SEC championship.

But Meyer, Tebow, Harvin, Spikes, Demps, and crew worked their asses off and inspired the whole team, and that's what is taking them to the National Championship game.

I'll admit, for the decade and a half that I've been a Gator fan, I've been spoiled by the team's success. I was at UF during their string of SEC championships, and for their first national championship. But I was also a student and a fan in the dark year of 1997 when they lost to certain team from Athens, and followed them through every dark year under Zook. Last year's disappointing season kept me on the edge of my seat just as much as this year's potential third national championship season.

One particular way I've been spoiled as a Gator fan: I've never once watched them lose two years in a row to the 'Dawgs.

Get ready for the winds of change to start blowing ;)
You have had a good long run with the Dawgs, but it won't last forever

You guys can have your bowls...my Richmond Spiders will savor their NCAA championship. :D

CSU won! 40-35 over Fresno State

great year for Steve Fairchild. 7-6 record and New Mexico Bowl Champs. Gatrell Johnson had a great game. 285 yards rushing on 27 carries. Also had 90 yards receiving! wow just wow. i remember when Kyle Bell was the man at CSU (rushed for almost 1300 yards as a sophmore in 05 before tearing acl and missing 06 season) and when Gatrell seriously sucked at running back just a few years ago (only 12, 26, 305 total yards in 04,05,06 respectivly) . Now Bell is a backup to Johnson...crazy

Great start for the MWC conference!

How come CSU was good before i went there, sucked when i did, and now back to being a decent team?

1999: CSU went 8-4 (lost Liberty bowl)
2000: CSU went 10-2 (won Liberty bowl)
2001: CSU went 7-5 (won New Orleans bowl)
2002: CSU went 10-4 (lost Liberty Bowl)

2003: CSU went 7-6 (lost San Francsico Bowl) last year of Bradlee Van Pelt/Cecil Sap era. As you can see a decline follows
2004: CSU went 4-7 (no bowl)
2005: CSU went 6-6 (lost Poinsetta Bowl)
2006: CSU went 4-8 (no bowl)
2007: CSU went 3-9 (no bowl)

2008: CSU went 7-6 (won New Mexico Bowl) First year for Steve Fairchild as coach

**Bold is when I went there

Owell! im stoked!

Lets go undefeated MWC! next up.... BYU vs Arizona 8pm eastern time tonight

did anyone watch the memphis usf game? the refs screwed memphis over so many times. I mean memphis would have gotten killed anyway, but this was the worst officiating i have ever seen

This BYU/Arizona game is being horribly officiated. BYU just hit Tuitama on his facemask and dragged him down by it and they didn't throw the flag and made Arizona eat an 8 yard loss.

In the 3rd quarter they took a clear fumble recovery away from Arizona because they said the BYU receiver never had possession. Total BS. He caught the ball, turned downfield, and hit his own player who caused the fumble. The call on the field was a fumble and not only was it a fumble but they needed conclusive video evidence that it was an incompletion, which there was not.
