Never been, but you'll get your moneys worth if you can get tickets for one of the stands in the so called Stadium section of the circuit, because the cars are visible for an inordinate amount of time compared to other tracks.

There's been plenty of wheel-to-wheel and overtaking into turn 4, as well as coming out of turn 7-thru-8 (which enters the stadium section) in recent years, especially by Schumacher, Alonso and Button.

You've picked a splendid race to go to, even though the new Hockenheimring is much maligned over the old layout, the racing is significantly better IMHO.

i miss them screaming through the woods though... :(

hey when is the race this weekend?
i tried to look on speed channel and only found qualifying, is it on fox again?
what time also, i live in California.
i saw that qualifying was on at 5 am if that helps.

Looks like the race is 10 AM on Fox for you.

thanks.
ugh i hate fox
Speed isn't any better. They are constantly preempting good stuff (like ALMS or other circuit racing, F1 interest programming like F1 Debrief or Inside Grand Prix) with crap like pickup truck qualifying, taxicab circle-racing practice, or reality programming (Wipe the Ass of A Nascar Driver is probably coming sooner or later). I can't tell you how often I've played back a DVR recording expecting real race programming only to find dumb crap instead. I hate Speed.

The Speed webite has become about the poorest excuse for a website I've had the misfortune to navigate to.

And I'm not sure if it's even an improvement over the past one that would only work with Internet Explorer.

I can't say it's a surprise, Siverstone has been mismanaged by the BRDC for years now.

The only problem I see is that Donington isn't a particularly great circuit, though I understand from previous murmurings that they were looking at making changes to the layout should they secure the Grand Prix.

Yeah - spending £100 million to improve the facilities. Silverstone is great, but if the BRDC aren't gonna properly bring in investors (and the government shouldn't get involved in IMHO) then Donnington deserves its time in the limelight.

Quite. Even one of the most ardent Hamilton haters over at the Autosport forum is basically going 'Umm...well...er...well done. Wow.'

Extraordinary drive. I was at Doni in 1993 - and this was the same sort of drive. 68 seconds.

Ferrari AND Raikonnen threw away their opportunity to take the race to Hamilton by failing to put on new tyres, then failing to fix the mistake, and then falling off the track twice.

A hell of a race - and BRILLIANT to see RB on the podium - he's such a nice bloke, and deserves limelight after being in the shadow so long at Ferrari :)

Three way championship tie at the half way point. This is going to be a hell of a year :D

Great drive by Hamilton, Barrichello and Heidfeld. Really enjoyed the start with Hamilton going on the inside.

I think Massa spun 5 times though I may of lost count. This is why I think he is unlikely to win a championship, he is the fastest driver but also one of the most likely to go off.

Its a bit of a reversal of last year now when it was two McLaren going against a Ferrari, will Ferrari make sure they get a winner?

ughhh gehhhh

when i saw massa in 18th i left and went to go study and finish my homework.

i have to say it though
who ever masters the wet, is good.

wow this day just couldn't get any better:rolleyes:

Three-way tie for the championship, with Kubica 2 points behind! :)

We sure have come a long way from the Schumi days when most races and the championship were a foregone conclusion.

Hamilton was extraordinary, I think he was the only one not to really loose it AND lapped all but 2 and was over a minute in the lead.

I've watched F1 since the early 80's and the real talents show in the wet races

Drivers who can do this in the wet are the real masters. It showed up the Ferrari drivers for what they really are. Average. Massa was an embarrassment and I've seen him do the same sort of thing before. He can't really drive. Rakkinonen not much better.

I remember seeing Senna almost win at Monaco in a Toleman Hart in 1984. It was soaking wet and his car was good but no match for the Ferraris, Williams, Maclarens and Renaults. He was a master and made everybody sit up and notice this emerging talent.

Hamilton is the same - he is as good as Senna. He is the real deal believe me.

The driver who wins well in the wet is the one to watch.

calm down now... he had a great drive yesterday... but let's not put him on that podium just yet...
