Hamilton is the same - he is as good as Senna. He is the real deal believe me.
Hamilton is very good, but I'm not quite ready to compare him to Senna, unless you're talking about Bruno.:D

I look forward to seeing what Kubica is capable of once BMW gives him the car he deserves.

Things are moving quickly...

Donnington Pit Plan revealed.Bosses at Donington Park in Leicestershire are planning to build a new pit complex ahead of the British Grand Prix at the circuit from 2010.
Work will begin in the autumn and the new facility will feature a race control centre and a media centre.
Donington Park spokesman David Fern said that a "totally new complex will be built with all of the pits fitted out to the latest specifications".
The track will also be lengthened to three miles (4.8km).

They seem to be moving quicker then the BRDC. This sounds link they had an inkling about what was happening sometime before the news was leaked.

I went to see the German Grand Prix in the cinema today. Not my local by a long shot, but it was worth the journey. It was £15.00 to get in and was definitely money well spent.

The main difference was in the commentary team - rather than the awful James Allen we had two guys who really knew what they were talking about and who didn't get all flustered when something happened on track. Teaming Brundle with the lead guy on the F1 in Cinema broadcast (sorry, I didn't catch his name) would be a dream team for the BBC next year I think.

Also great was that there were no advert breaks. The action on screen was allegedly HD, but from what I could tell only a few of the cameras they used were outputting a 720p image. The others were upscaled SD which still looked great. The on-screen graphics were true HD versions which were much sharper than the ones I'm used to seeing at home.

wow that was an embarrassing pass on massa from hamilton.

i mean come on.
i learned how to not get passed when carting.
take the slower inside line and he will not be able to take the inside.

that was a sad race.

same with the last race.
what like 4 spins for massa.

o not to mention kimi, what did he get like 7th or something?

Wouldn't get to upset, it means it will be easier to sack Massa and hire Alonso for next year.

I've been tempted to go and see a race at the Cinema - (it'd be a bit of a drive for me ) but I think I'd miss the live timing on my laptop a bit too much.

Another race by Hamilton that has me lost for words (nearly ;) ) - Can't wait for Hungary now!

He is a stunning talent. Superb race again today.

I think he's the next step on from Senna, Schumacher and now, hopefully, Hamilton.

Not until he wins MULTIPLE championships. One won't cut it to be mentioned with those two.

It's not always that cut and dried. Clicky, and jump to 0:45.

I just don't see Alonso getting along at Ferrari while Kimi is there. Alonso has shown very clearly he gets soiled diapers if he has a teammate that's his equal or better, and Kimi is not going to lay down and play second fiddle willingly.

Alonso will be off to Ferrari in 2010.

Kimi has a contract until the end of 2009 and a lot of people think he will retire then.

Also it has been rumoured that Santander will be leaving McLaren for Ferrari in 2010, Santander being a major Spanish bank.

I think Alonso will stay with Renault next season and then jump to Ferrari in 2010.

to be honest
from what i see,
alonso is not the best driver out there,
he gets the red mist a lot, and does not know how to see through it.
i swear though, he is like the only one i can see doing that, everyone else is so calm.

when i first started karting i was told about and came across the red mist (adrenalin). you really do need to be calm, and not get all personal about the race, think it through and just because someone passed you does not mean that you should try and pass them again right away, cough cough massa :(

just a side note, if your racing and you can think or even pay attention to how tight your booty hole is clenched, it can help you notice if you are relaxed or not.
its a wierd thing to say, but its true.
if you can drive entirelly umm loose, it is better.

That would make perfect sense. The fact that Santander's corporate colours are red and white coupled with the ban on cigarette advertising (I don't believe this "passive' advertising by Marlboro works) and Alonso being Spanish...sounds a good deal all round.:p

Yeah, all things being equal... but when you're on the wrong tyres, with no brakes and the car behind is 3/4+ of a second quicker, on a track with multiple overtaking opportunities... *shrugs* It was only a matter of time, something Massa didn't have the luxury of yesterday with Heidfeld catching him too.

But Ferrari have taken a wrong turn somewhere... and it's not being helped by a pair of astonishingly inconsistent drivers.

Wouldn't get to upset, it means it will be easier to sack Massa and hire Alonso for next year.

Not really considering Alonso's race yesterday... :p losing multiple positions on two separate occasions whilst trying to overtake, and then spinning. :p

When Hamilton's on that kind of form though... It just makes all his mistakes all the more puzzling.

Anyway watch the MotoGP at Laguna Seca yesterday?  :D

Without that safety car though, NP would have been nowhere - I don't think he would even have been in the points.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda ... all irrelevant in racing. He took the podium as fairly as any other race driver has taken podiums. He deserved it and should take pride in getting it. My wife and I are pleased for him. It may have saved his F1 career.

Piquet did a good job and deserved his podium. I still can't believe Massa 's blocking. He could have pretended to put up a fight and make it a little more interesting for those of us who have to watch him race.

OH - Piquet's results were deserved - sure. But no one can pretend that he didn't luck into it. He was far behind Alonso and getting no where fast before Timo's shunt. His prospects, imho, as an F1 driver have not changed - they're fairly grim.

Had Timo's RR suspension not collapse, we would still be thinking 'Hmm - Piquet's still not performing well enough'.

Didn't somebody from the engineering side of Ferrari quit a few weeks/months back? Perhaps that can account for a large portion of the drop-off.

I think its been going on for longer then that. Hamilton should have won in Canada, and the subsequent grid penalty ruined his race in Magny Cours. The season could be looking a lot worse for Ferrari if those results had been better for Mclaren.

BTW has anyone else read the new F1 Racing magazine detailing the new regulations. The heavily sculpted cars are going and a wider front wing. They look prettier at least!:p

it did for at least another race or two...
