Did you see the onboard video? He didn't lift.

Yes I saw it, but it's been two weeks since then. And he had to do something to get behind Kimi.

Either that or Kimi had nitrous or a turbo or something. Maybe he was testing the new turbo formula engine in secret. :p

So how do you explain him being ahead after cutting the corner and then going behind Raikonnen before overtaking again.

Regardless, it's irrelevant now that the FIA has deemed an appeal inadmissible.

However, if Massa wins the season by less than six points then McLaren should start legal proceedings against the FIA, since they lost those points as a direct result of one of the FIA's officers (Charlie Whiting) misinforming them that the manoeuvre was okay twice before the end of the race and subsequently referring it to the stewards personally having told the team this. If Charlie Whiting had not said this then Hamilton would have had the chance to drop back behind Raikonnen again and would most certainly have won the race anyway.

I've posted my thoughts on it before.
Plus, the on-board video shows he was pretty late getting back on the throttle, which I presume was him not wanting to spin due to the wet paint right there.

Even if Whiting had said "no, it wasn't okay" I don't think any subsequent action would have prevented a penalty. Kimi did get ahead of Hammy for a few corners later in that lap, but the penalty still came. Once he took the lead at La Source, there was nothing they could do to remedy it (although I suppose giving the lead back before getting to Les Combes could have sufficed, but that's not in the rules).

He could have deliberately dropped behind a second time had he known that the first attempt was being regarded as dubious, thus avoiding a penalty.

Those chicanes are plentiful, but some seem just a squiggle when it should be a curve.

It looks good as the cars zip by.

So how many laps in to the race will Fisi make it to before he stuffs it?

I'm looking forward to watching Vettel, he looks promising again.

Martin has just mentioned the plank.

A McLaren win followed by a Ferrari appeal?

Unless Massa is fuelled amazingly light I think he will win on track. If he gets away he'll be very difficult to catch. I'm wondering if Hamilton is going to 3 stop and try and overtake that way.

Yikes! Looks like a big crash. SC deployed...

Edit: just showed the replay, not as serious as it first looked. Driver is out and fine :)

Another pit mess-up by Ferrari due to their dodgy pit-lane signalling system. Time for a FIA penalty due to the obvious safety issues they have introduced?

But there's no problems with the lights.
Plus being released into another car?

What a shambles. The FIA need to step in and do something about this. Dangerous release, fuel or something was spraying out the back of the hose and a real risk of injuring their mechanics. Ridiculous.

Apparently the McLaren pit crew were cheering and urging the Ferrari guys as they ran down the pit lane to get the fuel hose :D

Never a dull moment. They had this in the bag.

Fuel I reckon, good job it didn't ignite on the exhausts.
