There's actually going to be 6 double headers on Saturday.
The 6th game is Houston and they won't play until maybe Sunday. Or do the Red Sox have one too. Ok 6.:p

Yanks/Rays
Mets/Braves
Red Sox/Jays
White Sox/Tigers
O's/Twins
Brewers/Phillies

The Red Sox have one, but that wasn't because if the rain tonight, it was from earlier in the season (they actually played in the rain tonight). So 5 games that were canceled tonight plus the Red Sox makes 6.

just 5 dh today, and 20 games to be played (must be a new record). i know the braves/mets game is going to be an old fashioned dh (30 minute break between games), and i think the sox/tigers and o's/twins will be as well. the brewers/phillies dh is sunday, and i'm hearing that the cubs/astros dh will be on monday.

and did anyone catch this? last hurricane related postponement was in 2004, also involved the cubs as the road team.

red sox probably played in the rain because they didn't want to play two doubleheaders in a row, which is a total nightmare.

Rays continued to beat up on the Sox the last 2 games. Nice to see Paperboy get rocked Wednesday.

Only 10 games left at the stadium.

i think those two wins for the rays were a much needed boost for them, as they were about to collapse under the sox and lose the lead. those late wins i think take the wind out the red sox and send them towards no division.

and btw, it's papelbum. hope yankee fans like getting beat up in the final yankee stadium dh though.

I think the best way for the Yankees to play spoiler now is to let the Rays win 3 and hope the Jays can do some damage in Boston.

Well, they already had 4 games scheduled within 48 hours. Friday night, two Saturday, and then Sunday afternoon.

HA! It'll take more than that!

I'd rather play the Angels in the ALDS instead of the ALCS anyways. The Sox own them in the ALDS, and a rotation of Beckett-Lester-Matsuzaka is going to be solid.

Only a 5 game lead in the wild card, nothing is set in stone yet.

Now maybe people will get off of the mets collapse of last year

What the Mets did was a lot worse than a collapse, it was an implosion. Until the Brew Crew drops 11 it is nowhere near what the Mets did.

I agree with MacNut (quote that now, because it's likely never to happen again in this thread. :p). The Beers would have to wait until they have one game left to blow a 2 game lead to eclipse what the Mets managed last year.

Yes, they would have to accompish the impossible.

Really with the mid-season acquisition of CC do you really thing that they wouldn't make it into the playoffs? Going 3-9 in the month of september so far and playing over 50% of there games against sub .500 teams SD and Cin.

if the crew gets swept in their double header in philly today, I think they are out of it mentally. If they sweep they are back in poll position and if they split they will need to play very well against the also slumping cubs. Reminds me of last year when basically neither team wanted to win the division.

That Rays/Yankees game was painful to watch; especially when the freaking Red Sox won. :(

Meanwhile, the Dodgers are 12 for their last 13, 4.5 games out in front. As reversals of fortune go, this one is about as stunning as any we've seen recently. Probably only last year's Rockies team compares. Saito came off the DL yesterday. If he can return to form by the end of the regular season, the Dodgers just got a huge postseason lift.

Derek Jeter has tied Lou Gehrig for the most hits ever (1269) in Yankee Stadium.

edit: No hitter for Zambrano.
