All USC needs now is a tent to complete their circus

As Pat Forde (ESPN) said, Kiffin was born on 3rd base and acts like he hit a triple
Great line and accurate too

Never has anyone been given so much for doing so little

Ignatius, we can afford them. If Tennessee can afford Lane and Monte, we can afford them and Norm and Orgeron.

It's not always about can, Badandy, but it will be interesting to see if Norm decides to come. We'll probably never find out how much they pay any of them, though, since USC is a private school and thus not obligated to give out such info.

As a UF fan, I never thought I'd say something like this, but DAMN, Tennessee deserved better than that! ( Have to go wash out my mouth with soap now).

What I think is equally disturbing, is how easily Monte turned his back on those players at UT. Can't believe how fast he sold his soul for that brat kid of his.

This has been a crazy end of the year for college football
I can't remember anything like it

Coaches behaving badly...
Mangino at Kansas
Leach at Texas Tech
Leavitt at South Florida

Meyer's retirement
Meyer's unretirement/leave of absence

Carroll's bailout on USC and leaving them to the NCAA
Kiffin's bailout on Tennessee 3 weeks before signing day

These are not penny ante programs... but big name, high dollar programs

Circus? Why, because we just picked up the best coaching staff in college football in the matter of three days? Because the best receiver in the country just recommitted to USC and is enrolling here next week after he de-committed because of the Carroll situation? Yeah, we're a circus.

Look, people here at USC are fine with Lane Kiffin, and that's what matters. People who actually look at his career recognize the fact that Al Davis restricted his personnel choices and that being judged after coaching the Raiders is ridiculous. I mean, seriously, you all trust Al Davis' character judgements when he says Lane Kiffin is an immature brat? It's Al Davis. He's a cranky old man who's senile and delusional. At Tennessee, in only one year, Lane Kiffin put together one of the top recruiting classes in the country. He took the Alabama game down to the absolute wire (blocked FG anyone) and played Florida really hard. He did a great job when he was at USC, so I don't see where this "he doesn't deserve this" talk comes in.

Who should we have gotten? Mike Ditka?

This reminds of a quote by Rick Reilly. He made a joke that it's like someone divorcing Charlie Sheen and being called a bad wife. LOL!

I would agree with you, but after the way Kiffin has behaved at Tennessee I'm beginning to think Al Davis may be on to something.

Just hope for your sake he doesn't get offered a better paying job halfway through next season.

He made Bobby Petrino and Nick Saban look like amateurs

I don't think he will bolt for yet another job
Where would he go?

No, I think USC is stuck with him and now maybe we will see what he can actually do... and if the NCAA will sanction him for doing it ;)

According to one writer at ESPN, Kiffin may have left because it's harder to win in the SEC. Check out the winning percentages broken down by conference.

Of course, he doesn't take into account the SEC's habit of scheduling "Random Directional State U" from the FCS level. Except for us, of course. Nooo, we had to go and schedule the likes of Houston, Georgia Tech, and MTSU.

Reports out of Knoxville say it looks like Troy Calhoun from AF will be the Tennessee coach, although Cutcliffe from Duke is still a slight possibility

Edit: Calhoun turns them down

I think Todd Grantham the LB Coach for the Dallas Cowboys will be the Dawgs DC when they are eliminated from the playoffs

Calhoun turning UT down is good news for A&M. Even though I was on the Wilcox bandwagon, it looks like Mike Sherman is zeroing in on Air Force DC Tim DeRuyter as the next DC at A&M. DeRuyter is supposedly on the A&M campus right now and AF has a players-only meeting today at 4:50 CST.

Which might be why Cowboys assistant Dat Nguyen, previously rumored to be heading to USC as LB coach, might now be staying in Dallas.

Chow isn't coming. Did UT have the best coaching staff in the history of college football (or even just in the nation) last year or are you backing away from that?

As much as I hate to say it, I think I would put Bama's staff up against any other in the country right now, or maybe Texas. Florida's staff was decimated this year.

Kiffin said that USC is the only place he would have gone
That's probably true, cause I don't know many other colleges that would have wanted him and his traveling circus

Daddy Kiffin is better than this
And I wish he had stayed in the NFL
But with the train wreck that is Tampa Bay right now, he would have needed a change anyway

I think Texas, OU, Bama and Boise State all have better coaching staffs than the three guys who are at USC. Now that Chow is off the market, it doesn't matter who Kiffin hires to take the OC job (unless it's a guy at one of those schools), they're not going to be better.

He said pretty much the same thing about UT last year. The dude's a snake.

There are at least 10-15 head coaches that are clearly better than Teh Brat™
We actually have no idea what kind of coach he is... he has a 7-6 college record and a losing NFL record to boot
He may turn out to be a good coach, but we don't know that yet
Recruiter ≠ great coach

Teh Daddy™ is without question a great coach, but there are others that are as good or close

Tennessee ranked 22nd in total defense

1. TCU
2. Alabama
3. Texas
4. Florida
5. Ohio State

Saban > Kiffin
Bama defense > Tennessee defense

Mac Brown > Kiffin
Texas defense > Tennessee defense

And on and on it goes

Not to mention Tennessee ranked 60 in total offense

No, USC's coaching staff is hardly the Dream Team

I think ALL the Pac-10 schools (and coaches... Neuheisel/Chow, Harbaugh, et. al.) will smell blood in the water this year and see it as an opportunity to take out a decade of frustration
