lol...apparently Cashley Cole might be fined by The Russian himself over allegations that...well he can't keep it in his pants.

Yeek. I think United handed the title back to Chelsea today.

Without at least one of Rio or Vidic in the center, their defense is truly dire. In a 4-4-2 formation, Carrick can't get the job done. When Rooney has an off game, nobody else can step up and carry the load. Even SAF's tactics and substitutions were baffling and ultimately ineffective.

Still, the Toffees played great and deserved the win. I thought they'd be a strong threat for the top four save for a disastrous string of injuries, and I'm glad they're getting back on track.

...I've got a soft spot for West Ham for some reason.
I don't.

I know a chap who knows the girl at the centre of Cole's sex text scandal — to say that she's free with her affections is something of an understatement...

Liverpool-Man City = NOT a good advertisement for the Premier League. Three shots on target between the teams. THREE.

Very sloppy game too, bad passing, clumsy fouls, all sorts of miscues. Mascherano probably should have been sent off, Both Adebayor and Benayoun could have had penalties, and what on earth did Torres get carded for?

Skrtel and Benayoun looked solid, Babel did ok, Gerrard looked uninterested, Torres barely saw the ball. Zabeleta was Man City's best player. But still a fairly boring match. Man City probably should have created more chances than they did, and Liverpool was just toothless as usual. Until Torres gains match fitness we are running on empty.

Liverpool are a poor side. But, perhaps more depressingly for the rest of the league, nobody below them appears to be better. And Man City are still all bark and no bite.

As you said, Everton were very solid (wish Donovan scored though), but I think the match demonstrated just how limited a team United are this season in the absence of a strong performance from Rooney. As a Liverpool supporter, the big criticism is always that we rely on Torres, but Man United rely almost as much on Rooney these days.

I'm currently laughing at Burnley and waiting for Man City to score twice...

Keep waiting. :D

Ahh, but due to last night's festivities I missed MotD last night, and want to see Everton scoring 3 against Man U :)

Besides, I've got Predator in HD for that "get to zeee chopaaaa" moment :p

Somewhat random comment, but I just saw a rebroadcast of the Spurs-Wigan match and I'm beginning to be convinced that the only reason Rednkapp hasn't sold Pavlyuchenko is because he doesn't want anyone else to have him, even though he can't find a place for him in the starting lineup.

You know, he really is a top quality player. You reminded me of a debate I had with a friend of mine a while back about Pav vs Arshavin; basically he was arguing that on the long term Pav would be a better investment as he would be the more consistent goal scorer as opposed to Arshavin, who tends to be a big game scorer. He also mentioned how, even tho Arshavin got all the credit in Euro 2008, Pav was the unsung hero who carried the team.

I'm actually such a big fan of his that I would love to see him partner Rooney at Man U. I think the combo would be devastating and both love to work their socks off.

Pavlyuchenko is loads better than Crouch. Redknapp just has a thing for Crouch. Probably got a very large back pocket payment for him once.

Anywho, finally a night of profit!

Tempted to put a sizeable lump of this on CSKA tomorrow night.

Rooney has forgotten how to score with his feet. Buried two more headers against West Ham, the first one in particular a real beauty off the one-time volleyed cross from Valencia. That's what, six or seven consecutive headed goals for him now?

Me and some friends have just done a nice little Betfair thing.. when you refer someone (so I've been referring them), once the person referred has bet £50, betfair will credit £50 to both my account and theirs. Withdraw.. and there you go. So we all shoved £50 on United tonight, pretty safe bet, which returned £10 profit or something.. and betfair credit another £50 straight away. So £60 profit in no time for the referred - and £50 for referrer! Very handy.

I have a few quids on a United Norwich Spurs treble.. Norwich just about held it together! If Spurs keep their end of it up that will be a few more quids :)

Well, it's quite interesting when you put it that way:

Premier League clubs are collectively in debt to the tune of 3.5 BILLION pounds, more than all other European top division clubs combined.

Wow.

Apparently those are the numbers for the 2007-08 season, and don't even include Pompey and West Ham!! So, 18 Premier League clubs are out-borrowing 714 other top division clubs put together.

True, not a surprise - though when you look at the hard numbers it's an eye-opener.

One thing I agree with in terms of the proposed financial constraints is the notion of forbidding wealthy owners from pouring their personal fortunes into the club. They should be forced to do business like everyone else. This would reward shrewd owners who make good financial decisions rather than allowing people like Abramovich to just hemorrhage money until they start winning.

In USA news, Clint Dempsey's wife is now officially a WAG. Bob Bradley, take note!

EDIT: Inter looked pretty good against Chelsea, and they just may take this tie. And my goodness, Balotelli is every bit as bad of a diver a Drogba! He's skilled though.

Currently watching USA vs El Salvador on ESPN Classic....(International Friendly)

my two favorite teams......USA!!!!! and "La Selecta":D +1

I'm surprised how the match is going....very conservative.
