Bayern. I can't see them not scoring, and I can't see Lyon scoring the 3 they'd need if Bayern score 1. Perhaps 1-1 on the night.

2 minutes in and Müller already missing a 1000% chance .. god this is going to be a long game

edit: unless lyon comes out completly changed out after the brake and bayern gets a red card i' can't see how they are going to win this

Well, if there was any doubt after that first goal, there shouldn't be any now. 3-0 on aggregate and Lyon down a man. They more or less capitulated today, which is a shame from a neutral perspective. Robben is looking dangerous again.

Wow, you truly have the knack for it. Have you ever considered a career in sports journalism? :D

Lets cheer for Inter...we need new blood in the final...:D

Bayern haven't a hope in hell, that's for sure. They look like a decent side but only the most rabid Bayern fan would give them a chance of beating Barca or Inter, barring an early sending off or two for their opponents.

I am that rabid fan...I have to agree with you...but two factors to consider...Robben is playing his best football...and it's a one game final...anything can happen look at ManU's win over Bayern in the final long long ago...

I suppose it's not impossible, but it would be a shock upset - and would make for cracking viewing for the neutral.

Is Ribery going to be suspended for the final?

EDIT: Olic just finished his hat trick, it's a rout. I must say, Bayern have shown great away form in this campaign.

Ugh. "The final length of Ribery's suspension, potentially covering the final on May 22 in Madrid if Bayern get that far, will not be decided until the UEFA disciplinary panel committee meets next Wednesday, the day after the semi-final return."

Boy that Olic is playing lights out...Klose will have to be sold

Maybe I gravitate towards them because I come from a rough industrial salt-of-the-earth town myself, and I feel like a kindred spirit. Maybe that will change when I go to Liverpool someday and get mugged. <shrugs>

I'm also from a rough industrial salt-of-the-earth town. It still doesn't prepare you for the delights of Liverpool.

We went to a cup match away at Everton about 20 years ago. Four of the lads on our coach got robbed at knife point. They took their wallets, watches, jewellery, jackets and shoes.

At least the wheels were still on the coach after the match. Unlike the car that some our friends had foolishly parked near the ground and ignored the little kids who asked for "a quid to watch the car, mate?". :(

considering that Olic was a free transfer he sure was a steal

also altintop seems to be playing in top shape today even on his unnatural left

that this Real-beating Lyon couldn't score against this bayern which are playing with a 21 year old and a 19 year old defender (and now a 17 year old midfielder) is hilarious.. i sure expected them to do better after their last game... even mroe so that they got a game off over the weekend in the league because of todays game

edit: congratulations for the very fair Lyon fans though you don't see that very often with such a result

It's hard to judge how well Bayern played because Lyon were so useless. Still, they won the tie handily. They kept a clean sheet too, though I'm not sure I can remember one shot on target for Lyon.

Jeebus. Sounds like New Jersey.

ps. Inter favourites tomorrow, because Mourinho will shut up shop well, but I have a feeling about Barca. If it's one of those days for them, they won't struggle to score 2, 3, 4...

Three clubs will be kicking themselves after seeing how Lyon played today. I'm looking at you Real, Utd & Liverpool.

I guess every game really is different.

Nice old-school Liverpool away kit....and I think my hair would look like that if I grew it out. :D...but I've never been a thief or mugger, so I don't have all the genes.

If Mourinho parks the bus, I hope Barca go out there and spank Inter. Barca know they have to attack, and sitting back against the most powerful offense in football is playing with fire. Still, if any manager can do it, that manager would be Mourinho.

I just hope it's an exciting match either way.

Hard to believe that was the same Lyon squad that dispatched Real Madrid. Wow, they looked awful. Bayern's makeshift backline was barely tested.

Sometimes you need a lot of good fortune to make a long run in Europe, and Bayern certainly has had that in spades, especially against Fiorentina and Man Utd. They were clearly superior to Lyon, though, any way you slice it.

I'm bummed I have to be at work all day tomorrow and will have to miss the Barca / Inter match. I expect Mourinho to have some effective tactics in place, but Barca will probably be too much to handle at home. We'll see.

Whatever happens, I won't be watching the final – I'll be at a wedding do, what with them moving it to a Saturday. Hopefully then it'll be rubbish so I'm not missing anything exciting. The final I mean, not the wedding do.

Ah, bad luck! Maybe you can sneak a radio in with a Phil Brown-style earpiece and listen to the drama. Wedding guests will think you are cheering the newlyweds on when you jump up screaming....that is, until you shout referEEEE!!!! :D
