Gary Megson's been sacked by Bolton after throwing a 2-0 lead away against the mighty Tigers last nights. There were boos aplenty for him at the end of the match, and it looks like it's another managerial scalp for us. Heh.

Not a huge surprise given that Bolton were cruising for most of the game until Megson went all defensive after scoring the second goal.

On the other side, I was really impressed with Stephen Hunt, he was the driving force behind Hull today and looks like a quality buy.

It's becoming a habit with your boys. :D

I saw the match against Bolton. Those are the games you absolutely must get points from, so the comeback was a crucial point gained. Hunt was everywhere at once. My brother thinks he's a bit of a donkey despite all his energy, but I think he is a key player for Hull City. Then again, my brother and I argue endlessly about whether Peter Crouch is a donkey....I'll never convince him that Crouchy is a solid player no matter how hard I try.

If Bullard was healthy and on the pitch you'd have to think you'd have gotten 3 points from that match. Bullard is like Hunt - always involved and a morale-booster.

Well Texas Tech programs pretty much just got torpedo by the University Firing Leach.

But then again from the little things I know about the internal politics of the School the Chancellor is trying to get more power and been wanting to remove everyone he did not put in place so he was looking for a reason.

Even if they media does not report it he Chancellor is the guy behind this.

Looks like Tech will become the new A&M of the big 12 and it will take them years to recover. Leach had gotten that program to very good and everything finally seem to really be click-en. The school started to get a real defense and the offense was doing pretty well considering how many high profile players were replaced.

Beat me to it. :D

Wonder how long it will be before we get linked with Megson
This Leach guy sounds like he might be suitable to take over the reins at Hillsborough ;)

A couple of quirks about today's two matches:

Sir Alex has gone 99 straight matches without naming the same starting 11 in consecutive matches.

There are no english players among the 22 players who started the Portsmouth-Arsenal match, the first time that has ever happened in the premier league.

Accrington Stanley just had their arses served up on a platter by Bury the other day too if I recall correctly.

I need to get myself and Accrington Stanley shirt one of these days. :)

Well, the story is he locked a player who couldn't practice due to a recent concussion into a dark closet for three hours as punishment. So he's more the disciplinarian type.. :D

We're used to that. Our last manager is famous for chinning one of his players :p

Gosh, Wigan are terrible. Rooney unlucky to not get a hat trick tonight, but a lot of good team goals were scored which should be good for the old confidence. Valencia and Rafael were fabulous.

Bring on Leeds!

Megson's reign was never going to go well was it.... I'm surprised he lasted this long! I heard today that in an online poll of the Bolton fans before he signed, only 1% of those polled said they wanted him as manager. Not great.

Bets are on as to how long it takes for the Istanbul/Munich chants to be sung on Sunday. I reckon < 5 minutes unfortunately...

Long odds on proper violence but you never know.

Sadly there are still a few stupid ****s who use football as an excuse to misbehave. I just hope it's a good match and there isn't any trouble.

Transfer time!

The pundits are predicting that Benitez will be looking for a striker...but even if we sell Babel and Voronin and one or two other players we still won't have the money to buy a quality striker.

Our options don't look great - Pavyluchenko will cost more than he's worth, Heskey is not a Torres replacement in terms of the type of player but might be worth a punt if he's cheap. Van Nistelrooy on loan? I doubt that, he's injury prone now anyway. The Guardian mentioned Kenwyne Jones, and I think he's pretty useful - but I doubt we could afford him from what we make by selling players. Apart from all this we still have our shaky defense to deal with.

Liverpool cannot afford to be continually out-bought by Manchester City...Success in this league ultimately comes down to cash. Money buys the best players, managers and trophies. And Man City has more of it than Liverpool.

The other side(Coach Leach) of the story is the player was habitually lazy(according to the coaching staff) and underachieved. the player's father, Craig James former NFL star, was continually sticking his nose in their business. according to Coach Leach they were treating him like they would any other concussion victim, trying to keep him out of bright lights, severe heat. the interesting thing is that Coach Leach was due $800,00.00 as of 1/1/2010(or there abouts)... and the Texas Tech folks fired him before they had to pay that bonus...

i think it is a case of bad blood and the TTU folks looking for a reason...

Liverpool needs a CM replacement for Xabi most importantly... Aquilani hasn't worked out even though he has struggled with injuries and Lucas is too inexperienced...

Ugh...I'd hate to see either side win...It would be fun to watch United go behind just to see the apoplectic look on Fergie's face. :D

This is what I'm thinking everytime I watch Man Utd Play

Cripes. United (Leeds) dump United (Manchester) out of the FA Cup – the first time a Manchester United side under Sir Alex has failed to make it past the Third round, apparently.

Hopefully, with the FA Cup gone as a way of blooding his more promising youngsters he'll be more inclined to send them out on loan to struggling Premier League sides whose managers he's a bit pallsy with. Hint hint.

Meanwhile, there's been talk in some of the papers that we might be looking to acquire the services of washed up wonderkid Freddy Adu. Looking at his Twitter page, it seems there may be more to this than just idle tabloid gossip...

hey guys i have some tough decisions to make. I have a pretty good idea what i want to do because its about playing time and my development

Hull or Aris. Man decisions.

few questions- how would i get a work permit for england? what team gives me the best opportunity to play and mature as a player.. etc etc

Then Jozy chimes in...

come to hull bro!

To which Adu replys...

haha bro you know im weighing it up right now. All about playing man. I got u on one side and eddie on the other lol.

Hmm. I can't say I'm hugely impressed, given how he's spectacularly failed to live up to his promise. We'll have to see what happens...

MARCHING ON TOGETHER! Great result today, totally deserved I reckon. And I love how 9,000 Leeds fans easily shouted down 67,000 Man U fans.
Personal favourite of mine was:
Gaaaaaaaaaaarrryyy Neville, is a w*nker, is a w*nker!

Bugger - Wigan drew the winner of the Notts County/Forest Green replay in the next round, and I'd have loved either of those away trips. 'snot fair. :(

Mind, yorkshire - your signature has never been more appropriate. :p
