I like that striped design. I think it would look good as a Hull City kit.

The more I look at that Crew away kit, the more I like it except for the silly yellow on the sleeves.

So, Alan Irvine is our new manager and Owen Coyle's been officially appointed as Bolton's new manager (with the Burnley chairman accusing him of moving only for money). While I'm still undecided on Irvine's appointment, I would have thought Coyle would have stayed at Burnley as they do look like they can stay up, and that would have been a major achievement as manager.

I don't know his motives, of course, but clubs rarely show any loyalty towards their managers so I have no remorse for the club. But the fans will obviously be upset. We had a manager take Columbus to the MLS Championship in 2008 and he promptly jumped ship for a flashier club (Seattle) and more money...I was not happy, to be frank, but we couldn't afford to keep him and Seattle was a bigger project, even though we had a better squad at the time (and still do).

I guess the argument I've been seeing currently is, is Bolton really that big of a jump? It's also interesting that he turned down Celtic in order to stay at Burnley and then he bails in the middle of the season to go to to Bolton.

EDIT: Looks like several Premier League matches have already been postponed. As if we didn't have enough fixture congestion as it is.

Well, so far this transfer window has seen three players leave our already depleted squad, all forwards. It's getting to the point where we can't even field a team, let alone have players in the proper positions.

This season is already dead and buried as far as I'm concerned. Even if we survive as a club I seriously worry we'll carry falling down the league next season too. Wembley seems so long ago now :(

Oh c'mon? More matches postponed because of a tiny bit of snow outside the stadium? Can't people take care of themselves? Based on this logic it's not safe enough to go ANYWHERE outside?

Grab some kids of the street and make the shovel some pathways, pay them £5 and be done with it. Jeez...

Unfortunately, the laughable state of British law means that only local councils have the right to clear snow from public areas. Other people or organisations can only clear snow on private land. Otherwise they run the risk of Health and Safety prosecution.

Totally pathetic, right? Sadly, I'm not making this up

Sounds like Donovan looked good for Everton. I caught a little bit of the second half on an awful online stream but gave up after a bit. He looked speedy and dangerous though. He is probably not fully fit yet but an assist in his first match is not a bad start, and against top four opposition as well! :D

chivas is the best of the two. i hate the crew away kit...

Columbus rarely wears their away kit anyway, the yellow jersey is pretty distinctive and rarely clashes with the opposition kit. I still think the basic look is good but I do hate those armbands.

Now this is how you launch a new kit!!

Reviewing the new MLS kits:

San Jose: Home is really nice, Away is plain.
New York: Hideous
Salt Lake: Not bad, nothing special.
New England: The grey panels on the arms of the home kit are awful.
LA Galaxy: Plain
Kansas City: Not sure the yellow piping on the home kit is needed. Away kit is nice.
Dallas: No, just no.
DC United: Plain
Columbus: As everyone else has said, away kit would be better without the yellow bands on the arms.
Colorado: Plain, but nice.

What strikes me as odd about the FC Dallas shirts (and the others that use the same template) is that the Adidas logo is very high up on the shoulder/collar – it should have been on the same hoop as the crest.

OH YEAH! I'll take a #5 please.

Reviewing the new MLS kits:

San Jose: Home is really nice, Away is plain. - FEH TO BOTH. Plain is better in my book but these fail.
New York: Hideous - agreed.
Salt Lake: Not bad, nothing special. - ugh!
New England: The grey panels on the arms of the home kit are awful. - ugh!
LA Galaxy: Plain - maybe the best of the lot so far
Kansas City: Not sure the yellow piping on the home kit is needed. Away kit is nice. - i've seen much worse. they pass.
Dallas: No, just no. - for me, not bad with hoops. not a fan of hoops..but there are worse...
DC United: Plain -pass. they've had better. maybe in real life it'll look good.
Columbus: As everyone else has said, away kit would be better without the yellow bands on the arms. - home yellow is the best of the whole lot to be fair...i could get used to the away
Colorado: Plain, but nice. - RUAS to the collars!! but otherwise i like them.

Looks like Liverpool have gotten rid of Voronin, I haven't seen what the fee was though. Good riddance I have to say - Benitez didn't play him much and when he did he didn't have a big impact.

Weirdly, Inter chose to play Viera on Wednesday even though they knew he was being sold to Man City - and he picked up a knock during the match, which rules him out against Blackburn. I'm sure Mancini is not best pleased.

I was thinking the same thing - it makes it look like an afterthought. MLS shirts tend more on the plain side as far as I can tell, no bespoke designs, but use a lot of bright colors. I really like the Columbus home shirt but I have the '08-'09 home shirt and they are pretty similar so I think I'll probably get the new away shirt.

That's right, Go Crew! Hardest working team in the league AND best looking! ;)

Sky Sports News have a man at Upton Park reporting on Arsenal's reserve side taking on West Ham later this evening – a routine fixture for the stiffs turned into a news story by the inclusion of a certain Sol Campbell in the Arsenal side...

Meanwhile, Burnley have appointed Fizzy and Pachyderm's old chum Brian 'Pissy Pants' Laws as their new manager.

That's one less relegation place to worry about, then...
Yeah, I was surprised. I guess they couldn't afford Sean O'Driscoll. As much as I admired Laws, he just can't cut it managing a cash strapped team. I mean, signing Franny Jeffers, come on! Fair enough, the Wednesday job is always going to be a tough one, but other managers have been much more successful (Owen Coyle and SOD to name but two). I've no hostility towards Laws and I think many Wednesday fans will be the same but I feel sorry for Burnley. It's always good to see teams defying the odds and staying in the PL eh Jaffa? ;) But I can't see Burnley staying up now, unless the Burnley players respond to being chinned :p

Hmm... so the plan is that ownership of the training ground will be 'transferred' to one of the Glazer's companies, and leased back to the club?

That has the potential to turn out really well...

It's essentially what most people think Leeds are doing. I'm a bit shady on the ins and outs, but I think the training ground and stadium are now owned by an investment company that is pretty much almost certainly headed by Bates. So essentially he's leasing the stadium and training ground to himself. All very odd and this post is probably libelous so I'll stop. ;)

Almost feel sorry for Liverpool, Long just fell over after getting touched to win the penalty, but he who is without sin, and all that...
