Slightly off topic, but they've shown the commercial a few times and I watched the restricted trailer, and Hot Tub Time Machine looks like it's going to be ****ing hilarious.

Now on topic, WTF were the Russians thinking waiting until that late to pull Nabokov? And I thought this would be a much closer game. It's almost boring to watch because you pretty much know that unless Canada royally ****s something up, they're going to win. I like a close game that has you on the edge of your seat until the 60 minutes are up.

It was a pretty awesome first period. I was in class and we all had laptops watching the game and then Canada scored and everyone cheered and the prof just ended class early

I wouldn't count Slovakia out though.

That was a great CAN-RUS game! I frankly didn't expect the Canadian team to play as strong as they did, but they really did great. It was nice to see some fast passes and a great team play!

I just finished watching the game (I PVRed it and maintained media silence).....

This is the how I hoped the team would figure out how to play. I really think that the extra game against Germany was the best thing that happened to them.

I'm shocked at how flat the Russians were. For some reason I expected them to start playing dirty, and lo and behold, they did.

I'll make sure to pay attention the next time the Sharks play the Caps.....

Anyone else catch Pronger calling Markov a "f***ing chickens**t" near the end of the game? I'm looking forward to seeing what happens at the next Flyers/Habs game.....

That World Series game was insane. When Joe Carter hit the game winning homerun, the crowd went silent for like half-a-second, and then everyone exploded. I must have hugged and high-fived 10,000 strangers that night....

Yeah, well we'll see about that! A Canada-Finland final would be good, but a Canada-USA final would be crazy!

Finland definitely has a very good chance to beat the US though. It all depends on if you guys can score on Miller.

Yeah, its actually morning here already...slept like 3 hours, but it was worth it! I feel very positive about this upcoming game, we dont like to play against Usa though, but i think we are better and have more experience, they are so young...

Oh and Women's hockey is going good too, i mean we suck, but still fighting for bronze, im amazed they did so good in the end!

Unfortunately, Woman's hockey is guaranteed to be a Canada-USA final. There is such a big separation between those two teams and all the rest. Eventually, the other countries will catch up, and there will be more parity/evenness.

I'd say that the Bronze medal is like the second level Gold medal in Women's hockey..... the best of the rest.....

LOL! Not exactly what I had in mind.

The CZE-FIN game was pretty interesting. I was really surprised (in a bad way) with the performance of the Czech team. The Finnish team took advantage of that, and rightfully so. On the other hand, I was pretty surprised with the Slovak team. It is not that they were that great, I think it is more that the Swedes just couldn't get their game going. Honestly though, when I look at how Canadian team just literally wiped the ice with the Russians, I see them as a strong contender. They are starting to get good at those short, fast passes, and the tic-tac-toe approach is what wins the games. I really look forward to see them on the ice again.

Interestingly, none of the commentators mentioned Jagr's jersey number. The 68 was a clear reference to what happened in 1968. Not that it really matters now, but it used to be a really big deal for the Czechs and Slovaks.
