Go Guerin. Cooke is a bum.

My Flyers choked hard against a very sharp Bruins team tonight. They looked good, the Flyers looked bad. Which is not a good combination.

Watched the Avs game tonight on TV. Glad to see Anderson with another shutout, and against his old team. He's played so well.

Going to a minor league game tomorrow night. Love it!

And off topic, I just found out that Iron Maiden is coming to Denver this year, so I'll be buying tickets on Wednesday when they go on sale. Woohoo!
Dude
You can't blame it on the goalie;)The D played like **** last night, all of them:mad: Pronger got taken to school:rolleyes:

Today will be the true test against the Blackhawks...

Peace

Test passed. Barely. Wow that was scary. 2 minutes to go, losing. 2.4 seconds to go, winning.

I don't like Hartnell, but hopefully he starts scoring again now that he broke the ice.

^^^^ Are the Flyers allergic to acquiring proper goaltending?:p

The Leafs are on fire since the Olympic break..... we've won 4 of out last 5 games. And we're scoring some goals too!

I'm enjoying this kids movement!

I strongly believe that Phaneuf will be named captain before the start of next season....

To answer your question, yes. They had Hextall, and that was it.

Lovin the Leafs, a shame they were so bad early. My Flyers were terrible a few years ago, and now they're above average. Hopefully they'll get back to elite in a few seasons. But until they bring in a goalie, and execute Briere, it's not happening.

Yeah, those are a couple of the problems you guys have. I think you're stuck with Briere though......

The Leafs are performing better now because they dumped all of their underperforming veterans. It's really nice to see- I think Burke has done a really good job so far. Believe it or not, the Leafs are now the youngest team in the NHL.

We're playing the Islanders today........ where are ya TDD?!:p

Dude
The Flyers have not had a goalie since Hextall and Pelle Lindbergh;)
Surely
Did you see Mike Richards got his ass kicked by Brandon Dubinsky today:eek:

Sad but true.

Surely

I just did now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzvC8QO7o28

Richards should learn how to tie his fight strap down better.....

Leafs lost to the Islanders today 4-1. Boo-urns.

My respect for Ovechkin is starting to diminish:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MozYKCapvWs&feature=player_embedded

Lack of respect.

I hope he gets suspended for that.

Well, the NHL has scheduled a disciplinary hearing for Ovechkin. I hope that they throw the book at him (but they won't).

Here's a quote about the hit after the game:

"It was not a hard hit," Ovechkin said. "I just wanted to push him. It's just a moment in the game. I don't think it has to be five minutes or something like that. I just felt bad."

You just wanted to push him? Really? From behind, right into the boards? What harm could that cause? Oh, I know: breaking his clavicle and some ribs.

Ass.

Dude
You know that if it was Ovy or Crosby on the receiving end on that hit there would have been a suspension

Thats why Bettman and the NHL are a ****'n joke...

lol so they'll suspend ovechkin cause he's a repeat offender but they wont suspend cooke cause he's also a repeat offender?

**** the NHL. what a joke of a ****ing league.

I get more enjoyment out of watching college hockey then the NHL;) Oh wait, when do the playoffs start:rolleyes:

Sorry for the off topic post, but what's your favorite NHL IPhone App?

This just in....

Ovechkin has been suspended for 2 games. They should have given him at least 5.

Re: NHL iPhone apps (I don't think that question was off-topic):

I use Sportacular for scores, and I like The Hockey News app, as well as TSN's app.

I use the Corus Radio app to listen to Leaf games.

Isles win 5-2 over the Canucks!

John Tavares with 5 points, which tied a franchise record.

Got a 3 game win streak going on, could make things interesting.

Can't wait for Thursday nights Bruins/Pens matchup:D Pay back time:cool: I wonder if Cook will have a bulls eye on his back;) I hope so...:D

Peace

So I was browsing the league standings last night just to make sure that the Leafs were still in last place in the East:(, and I see that Phoenix is tied for first place in the West, and is tied for 2nd place overall in the league. I knew they were doing well this season, but I guess I don't look at the standings often enough.

I'm thinking that their success has to do with a combination of the whole moving-to-Hamilton thing being over, and both Don Maloney and Dave Tippett doing kick-ass jobs.

I don't think we'll see any hockey analyst say this, but I think that Gretzky leaving the organization was the best thing that ever happened to that team. He may have been the best player the Game has ever seen, but he clearly was not an effective coach.

Any thoughts?

I agree with you about Gretzky:) Now if we could only get rid of Bobby Clark:p

More bad news for the Flyers,Jeff Carter is out for 3 to 4 weeks with a broken foot:eek:

Surely
My sons HS varsity team lost the Flyers Cup on Sunday after leading 1-0 into the third period:eek: He is not a happy camper:mad:

Peace

It's very difficult to watch the Flyers with Boucher in net. He goes down early, or overdoes a save to leave an empty net behind him. The defense isn't helping, nor is the offense. But ultimately, we're being outclassed by backup goalies from other teams. Teams used to have to start their ace against us. Now we're the night off. Ugh.

Until the Flyers figure out how to score 6 per game, it could end up being a losing streak for the rest of the season.

At this point, I want them out of the playoffs because I do not want to watch Washington or Pittsburgh mow them down in four games.

I'm glad to see how well some of the Toronto games have gone recently, so that's nice.

But if karma is a big galactic equation, I guess it all works out since I finally got an unbelievably wonderful job, so something has to balance it out. :(

Sucks about your son's team losing. That's a tough loss. But I guess it builds character, right?:p

F Bobby Clarke.:D

And the bad news just keeps coming for you guys......

Flyers got shutout by the Sens (but I'm sure you guys already knew that). Elliot's second shutout n a row- it's the first time he's ever done that. It's easier to hate the Flyers when they're playing well..... Hopefully they get back on track next season for you guys.:D

You guys need a goalie.... I heard today that it's 50-50 if Emery ever plays hockey again. Too bad, he had a good start for you guys.

The Leafs have done well in the past 6-7 games, except they lost 4-1 to Florida tonight.
