Yeah man, that game was crazy. Something like 5 or 6 lead changes? Tough fought game all the way to the end. Whens the next one? lol

When the Leafs are winning, the best thing to do is not to talk about it. They lose the next time they play! :(

That was expected. They were tired after playing 3 games in 4 nights on the west coast.

You should tune into the FAN590 and AM640.......it's non-stop about them....... maybe that's why they don't win.;)

I'd bet that he's happy that he didn't make the team. He can take the weekend off and go lie on a beach somewhere.

The incentive to make the All Star team just isn't there anymore for the players. There used to be bonuses worked into their contracts, but I believe that the new CBA doesn't allow stuff like that anymore.

Last year, Lidstrom decided he wasn't going to go, and he got fined for it. He wanted to use the weekend to rest up.

I'm sure it's a thrill to some of the younger players, but I would bet the veterans look at it as a bit of a PITA.

Although we lost 2-1 in the shootout last night, the Leafs played a solid game again. Yay.
 
well since the pats decided to take a fat **** yesterday I will now be in here a little more often. go bruins!

Too bad McCabe is out for a while...... he's having a good year, especially his +/-.... a big turnaround from the last 5 years.

Panthers' head coach Peter DeBoer told the Miami Herald that X-rays done following the first period suggested that there was a broken bone in McCabe's face, however he chose to return to the game with a large plastic guard over the injury.

McCabe's teammates were in awe of their leader.

"He's got a broken finger, too," Panthers goalie Scott Clemmensen told the Herald. "He's our captain, our general in a sense. It speaks volumes of not only his pain tolerance, but his competitive desire to be out there and play with us."

I think Cabs has gotten a bad wrap from some Leaf fans. He has been very good for us since we got him. Sure, the guy does have an occasional brain fart, but this latest story shows the heart he has. I hope he can return before the trade deadline, because Id like to see him get a chance at a cup. And by trading him, it will allow Weiss to wear the C.
 
B's put up a nice fat 7-0 shutout against the canes yesterday at the garden as part of a home and home. Their main issue all season has been consistency, so tonight's game is pretty big. If they can put on a clinic like they did yesterday, it would be really encouraging.


Zdeno Chara got his first career hat trick yesterday, becoming the fourth defenseman in Bruins history to do so. The other three? Glen Wesley, Ray Bourque, and of course #4, Bobby Orr. Wesley and Bourque each had 1 in their careers, while Bobby Orr had NINE. I can't find a source listing the record for dman hat tricks, but I feel like that 9 might be it. That's crazy.

It's a friggin' mess.

I think they had too much fun in NY prior to the game.


Why do you think Neon Dion should give up the C? From what I've read/heard, he's been doing a great job as captain. The players respect him and listen to him, and he's been great in his PR role for the club. It's hardly his fault that the team doesn't have enough depth to compete.

Captains usually lead by example;) What was he a -2 last night :eek: From what is saw you do have some good young talent :cool:

-2 in a 7-0 game isn't the worst thing in the world. It's not great, but it could be worse. He played 20 minutes, had 3 SOG, and had a fight. The guy's trying.

He's definitely not performing near the same level as he played in his first few seasons in the league with Calgary. I'm hoping that player will reemerge soon.

There is some decent young talent on the team, but we just don't have the caliber we need to compete each game. Even compare our roster to the Rangers roster.....

BB has to do something, but with the salary cap it's impossible to really make significant moves anymore. Wilson has to get these guys back to the basics again. They really need to fix the defense. Koms and Bouch are nowhere near the players they were with the Habs and the Ducks. Wtf happened to them?

I still have faith in BB and think he'll be able to turn the team around somehow. Maybe not this season, but next season. He really shouldn't have said that they were going to make the playoffs this year......

Well, he is a D-man. No one on the ice had more than 3 shots that game besides Gaborik. I'm more concerned about Kessel.


Pronger will provide a nice boost for your boys. He created the chemistry.
