Vancouver/Chicago and Montreal/Boston will be the ones i'll be paying attention to the most. Fact that I'm a Canucks fan aside, I really think the Hawks are a entirely different this year, they seem weaker for sure.

Outside my series(sharks kings) I agree-I cannot wait to see the wonderful, friendly reception Chara will get-and how long it will take for retribution to occur.
It is gonna be a violent, dirty, physical series.

I was actually talking about the fans...who exactly on that team of softies is gonna take on chara?
chara has played his best since that game march 8th. so it should be a good one.
old time hockey
Because the Hawks are a different team. We lost so many guys due to salary caps and such. I hate that crap. Why can't we just keep our team?
Chicago knew what they were getting into when with those big contracts/FA situation. They went all in, knowing full well they'll have to move a lot of players around for cap issues, for the chance to win the cup. And they did. Most teams in the NHL would tear their team apart the following season if it meant winning the cup.
Exactly, but how many of those teams could then get back that next year? I don't think too many could do that.
We lost big contributors in every aspect of the game and still have the pieces to dominate (think 8-game win streak), just don't have the complete consistency like we had last year.
Honestly, I think the biggest thorn on Vancouver's side was Chicago's big men and role players. Take out Byfuglien, Ladd, Eager... they don't have quite as much bite. Niemi also seemed to reserve some of his best games for Vancouver. Anyway. Looking forward to the series. This one and Bos vs Mon are the ones to watch in the first round for sure.
Teams can only move up 4 slots maximum (ie. only the top 5 teams have a shot at winning the lottery) and drop no more than 1 spot in the order. So whoever finishes last overall in the regulatr season standings has a 48.2% off winning the draft lottery.
Odds of Winning the 1st Overall Pick
48.2% - Edmonton Oilers
18.8% - Colorado Avalanche
14.2% - Florida Panthers
10.7% - New York Islanders
8.1% - Ottawa Senators
The 2010 NHL Draft Lottery Odds are listed below Final Standings
25.0% - Edmonton Oilers
18.8% - Colorado Avalanche
14.2% - Florida Panthers
10.7% - New York Islanders
8.1% - Ottawa Senators
6.2% - Atlanta Thrashers
4.7% - Columbus Blue Jackets
3.6% - New Jersey Devils
2.7% - Boston Bruins (From Toronto)
2.1% - Minnesota Wild
1.5% - St. Louis Blues
1.1% - Carolina Hurricanes
0.8% - Calgary Flames
0.5% - Dallas Stars
Its that time of year again! Go Pens!
Tons of people dumping tickets for the Bs/Habs games but they aren't getting as much as they thought (I think). I'm surprised that more season holders don't want to go. Personally I can't make it which I why I'm selling -- seems like this is a series to see.
Alright.....here are my picks:
East:
1. Washington vs. 8. Rangers: WSH 4-3 (Lundqvist is going to give the Caps some trouble)
2. Philadelphia vs. 7 Buffalo: BUF 4-2 (sorry robo, but Miller's gonna steal this series)
3. Boston vs. 6. Montreal: BOS 4-3 (If Price is on, he'll steal the series, but I don't think the Habs have the size to compete)
4. Pittsburgh vs. 5. Tampa: PIT 4-2 (a solid intro to the post-season for Stamkos)
West:
1. Vancouver vs. 8. Chicago: CHI 4-3 (sorry Luongo.....you're the new Joe Thornton)
2. San Jose vs. 7 Los Angeles: SJ 4-1 (although I wish LA would win, they have too many injuries to key players)
3. Detroit vs. 6. Phoenix*: DET 4-2 (The Wings will roll to the finals)
4. Nashville vs 5. Anaheim: ANA 4-2 (if you buy a ticket to tonight's Ducks game, you get a free ticket to the Angels game that's at 4pm. Playoff games should be able to sell themselves.)
*I, too, would like to see Phoenix move back to Winnipeg.
Looking forward to getting my playoff hockey fix later today!
BTW, a new sports radio station was launched today by TSN, on 1050 AM Toronto. I'm listening to it right now on the TuneIn Radio app.....to find it, search "1050 Toronto".....it shows up as CP24, but it's TSN Radio and the show schedule is correct. Looks like they have a hockey show at noon EST to compete with HockeyCentral on The Fan 590 (and another hockey-centric show on AM640). I usually listen to The Fan 590, but I'm going to see what these guys have to offer. So far, it's been hockeyhockeyhockey.
Surely dude that freak'n hurts. Why all the hate...
Go Flyers...

Dude, I tried to imagine a Flyers win for you, but just can't. No Pronger, (maybe) no Richards (he missed practice yesterday), and, of course, it wouldn't be the Flyers without questionable goaltending......
You guys got far enough last year anyway.

Where the heck are you getting your information from? Pronger will be in game 1. The way he carries himself through his interviews, he screws with the news guys. He'll be in, and 100%.
Richards wasn't in practice because he was working out. He didn't need to be on the ice.
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=362000, http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Tim-Panaccio/On-Richards-Pronger-on-Eve-of-Playoffs/2/35215, not to mention HockeyCentral on the Fan 590, TSN Radio, and Sportsnet.ca.
His coach sure wanted Richards on the ice. He wasn't working out. Apparently he's got a bit of a cold.
Pronger can't get a shot off yet and is having difficulty passing the puck.
