I just have to say this: I just got involved with hockey personally in January. I've always loved watching it since college- went to all the games. A friend recommended that I play floor hockey, so I went for it. Wow- awesome. So awesome to me that I step out onto the ice for the first time tomorrow.

A local team asked me to join them after I mentioned floor hockey. I said that I could not skate. They told me that of course I could and they would teach me (now to be clear, I'm a goalie, so skating skills don't have to be that amazing). We're talking about guys who've played most of their lives and are willing to teach me this game on the ice. That's frickin' incredible. I still can't believe it. There are really great people in this sport.

I have a hard time criticizing anyone who goes out and plays this game. It's hard, really hard. But it's a crapload of fun. :)

^^^^^^F***in' eh, Lee!

Leafs beat the Bruins.:D:D Third straight win against them.:D:D I like that.

The kid Kadri scores the only shootout goal for the win and the Reim Minister of Defense (yes, this is what the Leafs announcer called him :p) James Reimer gets yet another win (19-8-4).

Joffrey Lupul is looking really good. I'm really looking forward to seeing what he can do next season after he's able to actually train and strengthen his back in the off-season. Kudos to Burkie for acquiring him as a salary evener in the Beauchemin trade (who?).

Things are looking up!

Trading Kaberle could have been the best thing for this team. It's made our defense less predictable, and has allowed Phaneuf to get more involved in the play and score some points. When he was teamed up with Kaberle, Kaberle was that guy. Now that he's teamed up with Aulie, Phaneuf can show us what he can really do.

Looks like Wilson will be back next season, and if the success continues, there will be an extension offered.

/waits for iJH to make his negative Leaf comments ;)

I'm kind of glad that the Blackhawks weren't any good when I lived in Chicago.....it made it a lot easier to get tickets to the games.:D

It's good they rebuilt and are successful. That city needed a win.:p

We sure did. Trust me, that is not lost on anyone here. But that game against the Bruins- wow. It made me sad.

I understand having a bad night though. It happens. I've had mine. But I've also had nights where my team is just crap and I'm on. One night, my captain says after one period, "Why the hell did Lee have to defend 18 goals just now? What the hell is wrong? Stop depending on Lee for wins. We're losing because you guys are not controlling the situation." It was only 0-1 at that point, but he was right. I was getting hammered during that game. I was fine with it though, because I was on that night. We did come back and win. :) But when I'm off, we do have a hard time. We still have a lot of work to do. BTW- as of last week, I've played 4 shutouts. Not bad for a new guy if I do say so myself. ;)

Is that the same Chris Mason who couldn't stop a shot if his life depended on it when he was playing for the Blues last season?

Can't wait for the 'scouting report' on your efforts. :D

Everyone is playing for next season's contract, including Wilson's.

But it is nice to see them NOT roll-over and play dead this year.

"When the points of November come calling." :p

^^^^They're also playing for the slim chance to make the playoffs.

This team feels different than past teams that surged at the end of the season when the playoffs were already out of reach. There is real potential now.

So where are those Boston boys? So unlike them to not post after a game......:p:D

Sorry I was busy working and looking on ticket master for playoff tickets. Ya know, cause we already are in the playoffs? I hope the snows melting in Ontario cause the leafs are gonna be hitting the golf course in a few days. :D

^^^Not that shocking......Belanger is from Quebec. He should keep his mouth shut though. And it's not that hockey didn't work in Winnipeg, they just didn't have the corporate cash to keep the team at the time. The owner saw dollar signs in the desert. The fans in Winnipeg are amazing, and hockey will totally work there now. Dummy.

Bring back the Jets!

Gack... took it to the B's again. :(
Marchand got his 5th shorty -- Reimer continues to look good.

Got my playoff tix -- I'm very happy -- except for the cost!

(edit: I was traveling and wasn't able to see the game until last night). You know I won't duck you after a loss Surely!! Looking more and more like B's / Habs in the first round)

^^^I know :D:p

Leafs win again tonight......Kessel scored his 30th of the season, Phaneuf played over 27 minutes and was a +2, and Reimer got yet another win.

We're still hanging on........

James Reimer was named Rookie of the Month for March, and had this to say about it:

“It’s good to have,” Reimer told reporters in regards to being honoured. “I don’t know how much credit I can take for it. Whenever a goalie gets accolade or something like that, I think it’s always indicative of how the team’s playing. So I’m happy to receive it but I think it’s really the guys in the room that won that one.”

Class. Act.

I know everyone and their mom and sister wants a Sharks Ducks round 1, but us Sharks fans may not be so into it. While we may beat them, we won't be in any shape to continue our battle.

Any body notice that Bill McCreary retired last night. Him and Kerry Fraser were class acts. I will miss them both. The NHL needs more guys like them:)

I'm freak'n glad there's no shoot-out's in the playoffs because the Flyer's plain out SUCK at them
Can't wait to next Wednesday...;)

I'm I worried... Nope... :D:rolleyes:

Peace

Lee - you are describing many of the Bruins games this year in front of Tim Thomas. Numerous in the high-30's and several in the 40's! There were plenty of games where he was it to get to the win. It took the D a long time to get it together and they still have some work to do.

Hnidy looked ok against the Thrashers which may give a little more depth. Kampfer, who I am personally a fan of, isn't quite performing at playoff level.

Btw: isn't it a good feeling being the guy the team depends on and delivering! :). Nice going.

Its time to get worried Robo. One and done you heard it here first.

Malkin was on skates today for the team picture. He was asked when he was coming back and he said yesterday. To bad thats not true.

I'm not worried.;) The playoffs are a whole different animal.

The Leafs were officially eliminated yesterday when the Sabres won their game. I know it's been 7 years without the playoffs, but this year feels different. There is real potential on this team, and a good core of players for Burke to build around. Once he gets a couple of pieces in place during the offseason (a center and a dman), the playoffs will be in the picture.

As much as it sucks that the Leafs aren't in it this year, I'm looking forward to the playoffs. Enough of this regular season crap.:p

I am with you on Playoff Hockey ... best time of year for Hockey.

Reimer looks solid to be our Starter next year ... we should be Playoff bound.

Well, Reimer started tonight as well (I expected Giggy to start), and I'm sure he'll start the final game at the ACC on Saturday, so I'd say that the starter's job will be his to lose next season.

From what I have seen, not only is he awesome in nets, but he seems like the nicest guy.

Agree. I saw the B's / Islanders last night and it was actually a good game. I haven't checked out the icetime / player yet but the regs were all out there for the B's and it was far from an easy win. The Campbell/Paille/Thornton line was the standout last night.

It has to be hard to get 'up' for a game like this when they are already in the playoffs and the Islanders are firmly, well, not. Hopefully that will change in the playoffs.

Should know the playoff schedules by Monday I think (or late Sunday night?). I have B's tix but cannot make the first 2 games so will be selling.
