Surely-I don't even think the best trauma specialists or psychiatrists can fix this team. The only option is to rip it apart and start over. I will be spending the next week coming to terms with that.

For now I will go with this
Gutless, weak, cowardly, emotionless, careless, effortless, pathetic-- thats our team.

Nevertheless, I give full marks to the Kings-I mean, the showed up to play-they didn't need to do anything else.

on a separate note

I had no idea that the wings were the team that eliminated the Winnipeg Jets 15 years ago.

That is got to be the most cruel and sickening twist of fate I have ever heard.

I really do feel for Glendale now.

Wow, I didn't realize that either. Eerie.

Sorry, but I don't feel for Glendale. If they supported the team, and if a local investor stepped up, this wouldn't be happening. I do feel for the 2,000-3,000 die hard fans that actually went to games. It really sucks for them. However, you need more than 2,000-3,000 fans to maintain an NHL team in a city.

I expected the Kings to put up a fight, but I really didn't expect them to have a chance to win the series. Now, I would be surprised if they didn't win the series.

i'm sure he will be, but boy does he ever look gaunt. i know he's always been tall and skinny, but imagine how skinny his face must be without that beard (as thin as it is).

It'll also be interesting to see how the big hits by the larger sized bruins affect mtl's players after a few more games. The habs have the speed, but the size might hurt them. Time will tell. Lucic is one of those players with great ability who can never seem to bring it consistently. It's too bad b/c he reminds me of Cam Neely in terms of bring a power fwd...big, strong, great hands although he skates like there's a weight dragging behind him. Still always room for a player like that.

Looch is pretty much our best player now and he hasn't really shown up at all in the first 3 games. If Boston is to win the series, he has to come up big.

I'm surprised they've benched Seguin, but maybe watching from the press box will help him see and learn. I still think Boston won that trade hands down. Kessel's been a bust imho.

Ryder sucks, so if the Bruins do keep the playoffs going, we might see Seguin at some point. It's funny, cause the attitude among some of the pink hats around here in Boston is that Seguin's been a bust. They are just impatient though. That kid has shown so flashes that he has so much raw talent, so I'm exicted to see where he is in a couple of years. The NHL offseason program is gonna be huge, and will help him bulk up a ton.

I would comment on this game but I don't even know what to say.

What do people think about being stuck with NBC Versus for the next decade?

If the alleged price agreed upon is true (somewhere in the range of 2 Bill)I want to know what ESPN put up-I mean I have to think the threat of no NFL this year and the remote possibility of an NBA lockout in a yr or so, they may actually want to show some sports.

I know. Pretty crazy game. I can't believe it's 5-5 going into the 3rd.

Here's the deal:
Versus currently pays about $75 million per year while NBC pays no rights fees but has a revenue sharing arrangement with the NHL.

As long as Versus/NBC will be showing as many games as what ESPN would have shown, it doesn't matter to me which channel the NHL is on.
/shrug

LA blows a 4-0 lead and then loses in OT... They don't deserve to win the series if they're going to give up leads like that. Especially on home ice.

Hate to break it to you all-

we don't deserve it either.

I think Versus will get better next season too. With the NBC/Comcast takeover, you can bet NBC Sports will be investing tons of money to improve it. They are changing the name, and they just signed a 10 year extension with the NHL for nearly 2 billion dollars (according to wiki).

Geez, at least enjoy the win for one day! :p

An epic collapse by the Kings. I should have gone to the game last night...it would have been amazing to watch live.

I don't find the quality of the broadcasts to be bad, I just want to see more games televised. I think they could show a few more games......will people really miss the bullriding and MMA that they show constantly?

Yes, the deal is $75 million per year from Versus with the rest of the $200 million per year coming from revenue sharing with NBC. The deal is for 10 years.

The thing with NBC and VS is the terrible play by play announcers...all of them are biased, get their facts wrong a lot, and are just awful at calling games...they seem to talk to the fan who doesn't know what hockey is...makes watching a game almost unbearable.

Also, regardless of the teams that are playing, they always talking about the 'stars' of the NHL, even if they aren't playing! During a Flyers-Panthers game, they talked about Crosby in the middle of the 2nd period!!! And during intermissions, they never talked about who scored in the game so far/what plays have been made, but what Crosby, Malkin, or Ovechkin has done...it pisses me off to no end!!

JJ and Coatsey are unbiased! I actually enjoy listening to them...but yeah, Saunders and Bundy are awesome! Probably best in the business.

I think that is everyone. The Pens Lange on the radio is a legend and Borque is cool too.

Screw the announcers.....the lighting is way more important. ;):p

The only game on here is the Caps @ Rangers. The Rangers are pretty much dominating so far. Very interesting.

I heard on the radio that Versus will be rebranded "NBC Sports".

I hate everything about Buffalo, including the 'fans'...

More than I hate Pittsburgh and their fans.

Aww, give them a break:p....besides the Sabres, they don't have anything else going on. They're great fans, actually. I used to go to games when I lived in Toronto.

Wow, two quick goals (7 seconds apart!) by the Rangers. 3-0.

MSG is electric.
