EDIT-

apparently The GLobe and mail and Sportsnet.ca are wrong. deal IS NOT done, at least according to Piere Lebrun at ESPN, Kevin Allen at USA today both say no deal

(all this was from my twitter feed, so if you have any other puck tweets you follow please either confirm or deny either way)

To be fair, they aren't saying "no deal", they're saying that the deal isn't complete just yet. Obviously, someone has better sources than the other.

The G&M is a highly respected paper, so I would imagine that they've checked their sources thoroughly before posting that story.

I guess we'll have to wait and see.....

Bring back the Jets!

I think the NHL and True North are doing a bit of damage control. The sale I have a feeling will be done soon though, just not now. And the roller coaster ride continues...

The Bruin's looked alot hungrier last night;). Granted the defensive breakdown by Hedman that resulted in the first goal didn't help:eek: What was he thinking:confused:

Given the B's huge breakdown in Game 2 -- (TB scored in 13 seconds!) -- I'm not feeling to badly for them. However, TB is for real and the guys better keep focused.

Man I have missed out on a lot.. I was up in VT for a few days (they dont have internet up there :p)

TB is definitely for real but with Bergy back I think the Bs are the better team. He didn't miss a beat after missing 2 weeks, and looked like the guy that Neely said should have been a Selke finalist. I hope this national exposure for the Bs will start giving people around the league a reason to give Bergy the credit he actually deserves.

There's still a ton of hockey to be played, but right now I am cautiously optimistic. This is the closest the Bruins have been to the cup finals since I was three years old, and I think this is by far the best Bruins team I have seen in my lifetime.

With the return of Bergy and the emergence of Seguin, we now have 4 solid lines. Peverley on the 4th line instead of Thornton gives that line way more scoring talent, and it looks like Seguin has breathed new life in to Kelly and Ryder.

Lets get it done tomorrow afternoon boys, and go from there. One game at a time.

In case anyone is interested....... TSN brought on Kerry Fraser to write a column answering fan questions. It's pretty cool...... he tells some interesting and funny stories about his time as a referee.

It's an intriguing perspective.

Here's the one from today: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=366369

I hated any time Fraser with natural helmet of his refed a bruins game.

Those couple of anecdotes were pretty amusing.
See if I can down load the book.

Great game:D Sorta reminded of game seven last year:p.Sorry, had to go there:rolleyes: I think we got a series:cool:

Eat it! :p

I am disgusted about today though.

I don't know if disgusted would be a proper word. Boston had some fairly good chances, but once Tampa scored, it was all Tampa. They dominated the second and third period. Boston had a decent effort though.

I wonder which goalie is going to start next game for Tampa.

Van-SJ is ridiculous. Just one big parade to the sin bin, lol. Sharks' PP ran out gas. What the hell happened? 5 Power plays and 0 goals? 3 2 men-advantages for Vancouver straight, heh.. Go Canucks

Smith IMHO. The guy was solid.

I can see your points but here's what I'm disgusted by:
- The D gave it away on the clear so many times it was pathetic
- Timmy/Chara behind the net. Ugly.
- Kaberle'd again - bumped off the puck behind the net and isn't embarrassed enough to go hit the guy back and get it -- goal
- Luc - tons of open ice, hands it away on what should be a reasonable offensive transition
- Kaberle - "blocks" a shot with his skate (ok, good) - heads for bench, wait, Luc didn't clear, gets back -- gets in the crease with Timmy (goalies love that).. goal.

I'd have liked Julien to call a TO after the second goal. Maybe it wouldn't have mattered but slow things down a bit, talk to the team.

In any case, it happens -- TB just wanted it more and played great after the first. Smith was key.

Vancouver looked invincible this season and in the post season, they are no different. They are a force of nature and I tip my hat to them. I hope San Jose does better next year.

Before I go on this rant I want to give full marks to the Canucks-they played like they wanted it all series and deserve to be where they are.

All I saw today was a clinic put on to demonstrate how to run someone's special teams. I also will not blame officiating or anything but our players-we had FIVE FREAKING POWER PLAYS and did NOTHING. Vancouver took 3 shots and had 3 goals.

As for doing better- we won't until there is a total shift in philosophy and viewpoint. Right now, we still don't have any balls or guts-we have sprouts of it, but we cannot sustain it. I have always defended our GM, using the argument that it has always been execution. I have also and will continue to defend our coach, as he cannot control what the players do on the ice-if they only implement their system and play to their potential when they want to, then either the players can't handle the system, or they just don't care.

However, at this point, someone will have to take the blame for this collapse and I think will be our GM- whether or not that is the right decision is the question.

I say no-what we need is a total revamp.

/end rant

I don't really know if I'd go that far and say they need a revamp. San Jose had a hell of a playoff run and this is probably the best they have played in a long time. They just simply ran into a much better team. Vancouver is playing like they want the cup, and I'm not sure if there is anyone that can stop them.

I agree.

With that stupid Vancouver regular season record, they should have just saved us all heartache and given them the dang Stanley Cup back then. Vancouver plays like they want to sweep the next opponent which they could conceivably do.

I am proud of the San Jose Sharks.
