Megson is the only manager I know who provokes '<insert manager's name> out!' protests from a club's supporters before he's actually taken a job. :D

You never know though, he might be able to use a mutual love for the club to tempt to Hillsborough that other noted Wednesday childhood supporter Robbie Keane...

Got tickets for Leyton Orient away :D Can't wait!

Mega trip to Newcastle this weekend first though...

This should come as no surprise but there's a rumour stating that Chelsbramovich is planning a massive purge in the summer in order to break even on the Torres/Luiz splash.

I wonder who will replace them though.

I wonder if they'll adopt the vanishing spray, that's an interesting idea. I think Gigi Buffon should get a special dispensation to keep wearing his snood, and Carlos Tevez should be made to wear a balaclava instead.

Roy Keane's always good for a quote. :D

EDIT: I know he's simply protecting his players, and I generally have a lot of respect for the man, but please, Wenger, just shut up about this Fabregas incident. He shouted obscenities at a ref and got away with it.

Indeed. :D

Any incident involving Fabregas reminds me of him sneering in that snazzy jacket.

By the way your Lordship, our out of favour striker Caleb Folan is currently in the States and has been trying out for some MLS teams – word is that we'd be prepared to release him from his contract if a team wants to sign him up.

I take it that you've not done away with the offside rule over there? He always had trouble with that one. ;)

The offside rule is firmly in place, but the quality of reffing is spotty, so there's plenty of room for a very poor man's Pippo Inzghi.

In futher "out of favor striker to MLS rews", Anelka is rumored to be considering a move to the Red Bulls (Ugh, I wish they had a less stupid name, I'm embarrassed every time I type it). Despite both getting on in years, an Henry-Anelka pairing sounds pretty decent, no?

Excellent news for Arsenal - Alex Ferguson has just been awarded the manager of the month award. I always dread when it's handed to Wenger as it's a well known jinx. Mark my words, Man Utd will lose a couple of matches this month now, maybe even first up against Wolves, and Arsenal will go top. :)

_____________
EDIT - Ferguson calculates 84 points will win the title. (Last year Chelsea won it with 86). Currently on 54 they would need another 30.

He's been doing his arithmetic. That would require Man Utd to win 10 and lose 4 of their last 14 matches. Or more likely 8 wins and 6 draws = 30, which is slightly worse than their current form so well within expectations and current form barring any mishaps.

What he cannot afford to do then - is win 8 and draw 5 and lose to Arsenal. :D

Arsenal on 49 would need another 35 points and so would need to improve on their current 3:1:1 WDL ratio to make it 11 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss = 35. 10 wins won't be enough, they *have* to win 11 of their last 14 to reach 84.

Man City and Chelsea both would have to win all and draw just one of their last 13 and 14 matches respectively *with no losses* to reach 84. I can't see Man City doing that, maybe Chelsea if they put in an amazing run. As for Spurs, even if they won every game they'd still end up one short on 83, so they're out. So despite Ferguson bigging up Man City, Chelsea and Spurs as title contenders in the press, he's practically writing them off mathematically unless he thinks Man Utd can't reach 84 themselves. Which I guess is exactly what he's saying, if Man Utd can reach 84, the title is theirs.

Edit 2 - So Arsenal's getting to work on those 11 required wins. Who'd be a Newcastle supporter?

Some absolutely crazy matches going on right now.

Arsenal were 4-0 in Newcastle, but it's now 4-3.

Wigan are also leading 4-3 against Blackburn, and Everton are 5-3 up over Blackpool.

Edit: Make that Arsenal 4 Newcastle 4, incredible.

What the hell how do you concede 4 goals!

Today is the day they effectively handed Utd the title. They (Utd) must be dancing in their dressing room.

Edit: Speechless! If you'll excuse me i'll be vomiting somewhere.

Oh, gimme a break. Newcastle can play well... against 10 men, eh? How's all those disillusioned Newcastle fans who left before halftime feeling now?

Should clubs punish players getting stupid red cards? Diaby should be flogged and then hung drawn and quartered at the next training session. 'Feeling bad' about letting his team mates down just won't be good enough.

Some of the Toon Army are probably feeling the same...

BBC said:
"Some Newcastle fans appeared to be leaving midway through the first half. In fairness, it has been X-rated viewing for the home supporters as Arsenal carved open their team again and again and again and again."

:D

Wenger's post match comments will be very interesting.

Edit: Record Breaking day in the EPL, Most Goals 38, Most converted penalties 7.

Also, it's the first time a team has ever lost a 4 goal lead.

^ and will likely be the last for a while. Only Arsenal.

I was laughing at Harry talking about overtaking us earlier...not anymore. Foot. In. Mouth.

At this point i'm not even sure of the Carling Cup anymore.
