Suh's denials of his play are reaching alarming/psychopathic proportions

If the NFL doesn't do something, it is likely the players on the field will handle it in their own way

He should lose his salary for those 2 weeks as well.

That is automatic. When you are suspended you lose your salary.

Agreed. It was a complete load of BS.

What were the Lions' thinking letting him speak to the media after the game? He made an even bigger ass out of himself.

Agreed, even Dion Sanders said that Suh shouldn't speak to the media any more.

AGREED - my god, I couldn't believe what was coming out of his mouth in that press conference. He must be delusional if he thinks anyone is believing that garbage.

Also, no way the Packers are going 16-0. They looked very beatable yesterday, but Rodgers > Stafford, and eventually they put it together. I've seen a couple of their games where it's been similar.

I'm not saying the packers aren't unbeatable as I think they are the weakest 11-0 team ever, but looking at their schedule who do you see them losing too? The Giants in NY next week are probably the biggest possibility. With Cutler out I don't see the Bears winning in GB and I don't see the Lions winning in GB. Oakland and KC aren't really much of a possibility either.

So unless you're guaranteeing a Giants victory next week just curious what about GB's remaining schedule makes you feel so confident they will start losing? As a packer fan I would prefer a regular season loss in order to take the pressure of undefeated off so we can get down to the business of a super bowl victory.

i don't think they will go undefeated but they were large and in charge yesterday.

Until Cutler was injured, I thought that the Bears had the best chance of beating the Packers. Now, I wouldn't be surprised if they go undefeated.

I think the Giants, Lions and maybe the Bears could do it. The Packers give up lots of yards, those three defenses could hold the Packers down long enough for their team to score some points. The Bears rely heavily on Matt Forte, so Cutler being out is a bummer for them, but not a death knell.

It's not so much a single team as it's like you said, they haven't looked like an unbeatable juggernaut to me. Which, speaking as a fan of a team that went undefeated in the regular season, is probably to their benefit. Going undefeated is a killjoy. When you win, it's expected, and the pressure keeps mounting and mounting. I also can't see a team going undefeated all the way through to winning the Super Bowl. There's just too much chance in this league, and certainly not when you're ranked dead last in total yards given up per game.

I really don't see the Lions without Suh, or the Bears without Cutler winning in GB. And I don't see Stafford being effective at all in the cold weather. But that's why they play the game, we shall see.

By your original reply I figured... Girl, Patriots fan... just making an emotional response because she wants her team to be the last undefeated :p, but this reply was at least somewhat more quantitative.
I don't see the Pack as an unbeatable juggernaut but as they proved in last year's playoffs their team chemistry is amazing and Rodgers is downright nasty good in the clutch. We'll see what happens...

At least somewhat more quantitative? This is exactly why I hate discussing football with people that automatically think that being a woman means you wear a pink jersey and don't know what you're talking about, or that your responses are emotional and not analytical. Or that you're an unabashed homer, which I'm not. I've proven to put some thought behind my posts, and I actually watch enough games to back my thoughts up. But, pesky breasts.

I was interested in discussing it further, but that response rubbed me the wrong way. So feel free to go discuss things with the posters in this thread currently in possession of penises.

edit: And that reasoning is ridiculous. Why would I want the 2007 Patriots to be remembered for being the last team to go undefeated...and then not win the Super Bowl? Yeah, that season is a real badge of honor we Pats fans want to hang onto.

Kraft should take that banner down. That was an embarassment.

Seriously? That is completely offensive. Especially if you'd bothered to read any of her other posts.

And if you think women are the only fans who can be "emotional" about their teams, you haven't spent much time around real sports fans.

I don't think he has spent much time around. Period.

Witness his "Location: driving a 370z". ;)

The Lions were doing well in the first half with Smith before he went down. They controlled the clock and kept Rodgers off the field. They lost that game because of Stafford's picks. If the Bears will rely on Forte and Hanie avoids turnovers then the Bears could have a real chance.

So my boss gave me two tickets to the Jets vs Bills game tomorrow. I need someone to go with!

Also, I just read that I need a parking permit to park at the meadowlands stadium, but I don't have one. Can I get a permit up there when I get there?

sorry if it offends you, but I don't take it back. It was my first thought when I read her post. A lot of people like to hate on the Packers right now because they are the best team. It's annoying when people just post "oh the Packers WILL lose, mark my words" with no real rational explanation as to why they think that. If she would have posted something more along the lines of mscriv and said they have a CHANCE to lose because of x,y,zed... I would have had more respect for her opinion. But since she decided to just say "the packers aren't that great and WILL lose" with no rational explanation it was annoying and that was my initial thought to her post.

Like I said I'd almost rather them lose a regular season if it means taking pressure off and helping to win the super bowl. But if they win in NY next sunday I think he chances of them losing to oakland, kc, or the lions or bears at home are fairly slim. Especially since it looks like Suh may be handed a pretty big suspension, decimating their defense, and the Bears lost the underrated Cutler.

If you go back through this thread, there have been a lot of posts stating things that came with no rational explanation...and the great majority have been posted by men. So, yeah....it's offensive and ignorant.

Now...the feminine, emotional side of me will be rooting against the Packers just because.

No. You were being sexist, plain and simple. I explained my point further, at which time you threw in the stuff about how you figured I thought the way I thought because I'm a girl and emotional. If your problem was my original post, where I wasn't as in-depth about why I don't think the Packers will go undefeated (which is ridiculous, as the post wasn't intended to be a damned article), then fine. I explained myself - multiple times. But whether or not you agree with my opinions should have zip to do with being a girl. If I'm discussing football in mixed company, I try to be objective with my thoughts. Note a few pages back I voiced my concerns about my own team.

I'm not going to get all pissy if someone says the Patriots won't win the AFC East or whatever their opinion may be based on what they see.

Go ahead and stick to your sexist guns, but you're way off base and showing your cheese-colored glasses.

You and me both.

That's about as insincere a "sorry" as I've ever read, so stuff it.

And here's a piece of advice for you, since clearly you haven't experienced many Super Bowl victories (maybe you were a kiddie when Old Man Favre last took them there) - people hating on your team is part of the deal of winning. Get over it. Also learn to distinguish between legitimate criticism (like my thoughts about the Packers defense) and "hating" - as it was perfectly obvious which of the two I was doing.
