I love the Broncos.Bla Bla Bla :p

Had you read what you wrote you would have realized Pittsburgh was in a solid run defensive stance with injured players when Tebow made an average pass to a receiver who wasn't covered and ran 80 yards.

That happens a lot in the NFL. It's nothing special.

Had you read an earlier post of mine you would have seen that I said I hoped Denver won.

Tebow is going to be up against a much better team in New England. Then he will see how a very good quarterback plays. As he did in week 15 ?

But nonetheless congrats on the win. :)

THIS!

@NYPost_Hubbuch: Tebow's defenders seem to have quite a strong case of amnesia about just how ugly his losses (and his play in those losses) was this season.

You mean a Northeast sports opinion writer is talking smack about a southern born and raised quarterback playing for a Southwestern football team?

Why I never...

;)

All about the Denver D next week. Tebow going from #1 D to #31 defense isn't an issue. The Bronco's will have no trouble putting up high 20's, low 30's next week. The question is can they hold Brady to under 30.

Tebow is going to be up against a much worse team in Defense which is the side he plays against, if he can play the way he did again and again, the question will be can the Broncos Defense stop Brady, but i don't think they can.

I would counter with that when Tebow has a decent game, his haters find all sorts of reasons why it really doesn't count.

Look, I'll gladly admit that Tebow hasn't looked very good at times this season. The last 2 regular season games he looked confused. But he played a great game last night. 316 passing yards, 50 rushing yards, 3TDs and no turnovers. That is a huge improvement compared to the last 2 regular season games.

But lets look at the Broncos season:

Starts 1-4 with Kyle Orton as the quarterback. At that point in time Orton was tied with Phillip Rivers for the most interceptions in the NFL. Now, in fairness to Kyle, the team was playing bad football.

After that start, Tebow replaces Orton as quarterback and the Broncos go 7-4. For whatever reason, the team as a whole starts playing much better football during this stretch. Tim looked average at best for a lot of those games but for the most part he was protecting the ball and we were winning games.

At the end of the regular season the Broncos make the playoffs for the first time since 2005. Yeah, we needed help to get in but we are in. The 12-4 Steelers come into town with the #1 defense in the NFL and Tebow lights them up with a 125.6 passer rating, the highest in Broncos postseason history.

We beat the team we were scheduled to play. Stop making excuses for the Steelers and against Tebow and the Broncos. The Broncos played the better game yesterday and won.

What a game!! Just enjoying the ride man. Anyone tells me that the broncos win a playoff game before the season and I gladly take it. We've been playing on house money since the 1-4 start.

If we run like we did against the Pats like the 1st quarter the first time around, eliminate the TOs and utilize the new found passing attack and we have a slugger's chance.

Not expecting us to win, but enjoying the ride.

It was the most amazing sporting event that I have ever been to. I can barely talk today. Yeah, we ran for 167 yards in the 1st quarter against the Patriots before we self-destructed with 3 turnovers in the 2nd quarter.

The win gives me hope that we can beat the Patriots or at least give them a run for the money. If anyone had said after our 1-4 start that we would be playing in the divisional round of the playoffs, I probably would have laughed in their face.

I am also enjoying the ride.

Don't you dare criticize the NY Post!! ;) Seriously though, they'll talk smack about anyone..including NY born players, playing for a NY team.

The fact is, he had a great game yesterday - but overall he's not very good. And he did look awful in those losses (and a lot of the wins). And the fact that we're going to have to hear about him ad nauseam over the next week makes me want to poke my eyes out.

Of course anything can happen - but does anyone realistically think the Broncos have any chance against the Patriots? I mean, come on, it's not like Tebow is Mark Sanchez or anything. :D

Winds of change blowing in Flowery Branch

Falcons DC (and former Dawg DC) Brian Van Gorder heading to Auburn as DC

OC Mularkey needs to go to Jacksonville or Miami where he is rumored to be interviewing

This year's regression is unacceptable for the Falcons
They mortgaged their draft picks for Julio Jones
He wasn't the missing piece, there were many missing pieces

Now the window is closing on Tony Gonzalez, Michael Turner and John Abraham
We have no draft picks to address our needs

Yeah, that was an embarrassing performance by the Falcons yesterday. I was surprised to hear that the Falcons are 0-3 in their last 3 playoff games. Seems like there should be some changes in the coaching staff.

If you think Tebow is going to walk all over the Pats D you guys are in for a rude awakening.

Yards per game is just one stat and in reality it does not tell the whole story. This Pats D has vastly improved over the course of the season, and we just got Chung back a couple of weeks ago who is one of our best players.

By points per game given up, the Pats defense was #15 (21.4PPG), right in the middle of the pack. Denver's defense was #24 (24.4PPG). Offense.. well the Pats were #3 (32.1PPG) and Denver was #25 (19.3PPG).

Unless something crazy happens (and it definitely can), the Patriots are winning this game.

Tom Brady has lost 3 games (regular season and playoffs) in Foxboro in the past five years. Two of those three were the last two years in the playoffs. Brady is not losing in the first round at home for the third year in a row. It's just not happening.

Bring it Tebow.. time to meet god. He wears the blue #12.

The same was said of the steelers game, even more so, you just don't know, and i'm saying if he can keep playing that way, that's a big if as well.

The only thing i know is that i'm going to enjoy next weekend games :)

41-27 NE-Denver

Te-bag throws 3 INTs.

You heard it here first.

He's so easy to defensively scheme against.

Exactly.

The Denver defense won't do anything if the Steelers game was an indication.

Brady will walk all over Denver though I would like to see a close game though that probably won't happen. It would also be fun to see a Denver win, but that's a real longshot. And even if Denver goes all the way through the AFC, they would probably have to face N.O., S.F., or the Packers. I don't even know if God could help Denver. ;)

Yep, the Steelers did a great job of it.

What if Ben had been in better shape?

I do want to see the Broncos do well and surprise all the naysayers but though I like their offense and Tebow, Denver has to stop a good passer and the run up the middle. It's not as if Ben didn't get any yards yesterday. Now you have to face a healthy Brady, and in New England.

If you don't contain Brady early, it's over.

Nobody would ever accuse me of being a Tebow fan... seriously (I hate the Gators™)
However, anybody who dismisses him or doesn't account for him is making a serious mistake
I think those who emphasize the 'God' factor really sell Tebow the player short
No, he isn't the most orthodox of QB's but you will be hard pressed to find anyone with more passion, drive and will to win in the NFL
He is Ray Lewis at QB, and has the ability to will his team to do things and it can spook the other team... literally (Chicago fumbles)
And that quality allows others (the defense and kicker) to play over their heads at times too
Confidence can be contagious, and once a team believes they are a team of destiny, it can be a scary thing
That said, it isn't likely they will beat an elite team who has no fear or superstition
But he makes lesser teams doubt themselves and his own team believe... that isn't God, but it is leadership

There have been a number of teams who listened to the pundits about how bad Tebow is, he isn't a QB, blah, blah, blah
They didn't take him seriously
And in the end they were staring at his backside while his team pulled the upset

I believe Brady and the Patriots are the better team
But I believe the Steelers, even injured, were the better team
As were a number of other teams who were stung in the 4th Q or overtime

There is a reason we have a term for "upset", and its because the favored/better team doesn't always win
And sometimes they are stunned

A Bronco win over the Patriots wouldn't be any more stunning than the Seattle win over the Saints in the playoffs a few years back

I REALLY want the Patriots to win
And somehow I don't see Belichick taking Tebow's "IT" factor lightly
His team will be prepared and ready
But I have learned in sports to never be overconfident about your team
It is too easy to get embarrassed when you do

What if Ben had been in better shape?

But he wasn't, and really there is no one to blame other than the Steelers organization. They should have rested Ben before the playoffs, but they chose not to.

All year long people have been criticizing Tebow, not without cause mind you. You can't throw, you can't win, etc. We win 6 in a row and are in playoff contention. "But you haven't beaten any good teams!" We lose the last 3 games and Tim plays poorly. "Tim still can't complete 50% of his passes." We back into the playoffs. "You'll never win a playoff game." (Mind you, I'm not saying you have said any of these things.)

So yesterday, we beat the #1 defense in the NFL. Tebow accounts for 3 TDs with no turnovers, has over 300 yards passing, and a rating of 125.6. And we are 4-0 in overtime this year.

And what do we get? "WHAT IF BEN HAD BEEN IN BETTER SHAPE?"

Yes, I get it. The Steelers just handed the game to the Broncos who did absolutely nothing to deserve the win.

In week 15, the Broncos were up 16-7 early in the 2nd quarter and had run the football for over 150 yards in the 1st quarter. Then on 3 straight possessions we turned the ball over which resulted in 13 points for the Patriots. We just never recovered.

And how big was the absence of their starting center? That alone probably cost them at least 3 points.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda... yes, the Steelers were very beat up and injured
They still should have won the game though
They played poorly on both sides of the ball the whole game

And credit to Tebow and the Broncos, they came to play, and they outplayed them

Kudos to Tomlin for not making excuses for the Steelers

Agreed. Injuries are part of the game. Backups have to step up and make some plays. The entire Steeler defense was based on stopping the run and making Tebow beat them with his passing. Tebow did just that.

The Giants look dangerous. Green Bay should not take them lightly. They seem to play three times better in the playoffs then they do in the regular season. It's like it all just comes together for them at the right time.

The Denver vs. Pittsburgh game was awesome. For those of you dogging on Tebow just let the man's play on the field speak for itself and leave it at that. In that game he was awesome and even broke an Elway record. Will he do it again next week, who knows. But hey, that's what we say about every athlete, sometimes they perform and sometimes they choke. That's why sports are so much fun.

I wouldn't be that encouraged by the fact that you needed overtime to get four of the nine wins you guys have.

I hope the Pats have been able to figure out their 1st quarter struggles with this extra week break. That's the biggest thing that has been hurting us as of late. The thing is, to win this game, Denver HAS to start out quick like that. If Brady gets up by 2+ scores at home, it's all over.

To be honest, I have no problem with Tebow the football player. The thing that irks me is when the religion is brought in to it. Religion should be something you do in private, not on the football field on national television. That said, even Tebow isn't that bad in regards to this. It's the crazy religious fans who are pretty much exploiting his winning and using it as a crutch to try to force their religious beliefs on other people.

Agreed, we can't wait until the 2nd quarter to get our first 1st down like we did against the Steelers.
