That said, let's go easy on the praise for Tebow's throwing performance. Yes, he threw for over 300 yards. Definitely an improvement. However, the only throws he's comfortable making are the easy 5-yarders and the chuck-it-up-and-let-the-receiver-do-all-the-work 50+ yard bombs. Hardly a complete QB at this point.

I don't think anyone, at least no one I've seen on these boards or in the sports world in general, is saying that Tebow is a "complete QB". He's still a rookie at this point and is learning every time he steps on the field. That's just the nature of being a young QB.

Well I heard that the lounges at LAX tend to be a bit pricey but great selection of beer and spirits. So check online to see what bars LAX has.

Yeah, the selection seems good. It can't be worse than Copenhagen. Last time I was there, I bought 4 Jacobsen Christmas Ales and it was 400 DKK ($70.)

so right friend. Also he met the Pats and he saw how well they played him. Also Tom Brady told him after the game good game and see you soon. So he better be ready for the team after they are rested and ready to play.

wow talk about a rip off. 70 dollars for 4 drinks...i hope that came with a complimentary lap dance and happy ending..LOL LOL

i saw that today, but he's being replaced by Sporano. doesn't seem like there will be much of a difference there. shame.

Yeah, that came much later in the day. Wasn't a fan of what he did in Miami. If we also get Haley, I think it will be a nice upgrade. Scottenheimer's play calling has always been suspect. He's bad for QBs, the stats don't lie.

Haley would be good to help develop Sanchez, if that is even possible. Soprano might be good to help calm things down. Haley alone would probably cause the building to blow up. there is a lot of tension going on already on that team. while i'm not a Jets fan in particular since they're AFC i can wish them well. ;)

I never recall Steve Young talking about his faith apropos of nothing, never thanked God for a victory, nor did he ever kneel in prayer on the field. His religion was his personal matter, and he kept it completely out of the sphere of his profession.

Tebow brings on all the attention to himself through his words and actions. Of course the press and the public are going to pick up on it and make it a topic of debate - freedom of speech isn't a one-way street.

Whether Steve was quiet or not wasn't really the issue, but that his last name was Young and that he was from that Young family. If and when SY had a bad week, it was easy for a lot of people to assault him on his faith. I don't think anybody, especially Steve, wanted to be a so-called Mormon role model or spokesman for the faith, but the press could not help but to always mention who he was related to. The quarterback didn't make a show of it, the press did. With Tebow, I don't think his actions are that out of line, but like a good story, the press loves him (good and bad) and he sells headlines. I don't see Tebow any more or less of an attention grabber than Steve Young, but since both are good QBs, then it makes for a good story. Just like Brady doesn't talk about his wife, but the press are crazy over her because she's the top paid model in the world (or very close to it).

The SNL skit may have led people to the impression that Tebow is a Mormon, and the kneel is more like what my Catholic friends do, not my fellow Protestants. The only time I kneel like that is, well, when I visit a Catholic church. Fact is, he's a Baptist, but nothing like any Baptist I have ever seen. If he wants to kneel like a Priest or a famous saintly statue or if SNL wants to somehow tie in the Mormon madness in the press with Tebow, let it happen. We should just let Tebow do his kneel and let him play. Like someone said, he's not out making a sermon on the 50 yard line. ;)

I think this all started with that Super Bowl commercial...Tim Tebow aligned himself with what is basically a hate group...That's the main difference between Steve Young and Tim Tebow (besides the obvious talent differences). Tim Tebow put that out there where Steve Young never did.

Christianity is not a hate group, is just too many off shoots that are hateful. Im a catholic yet i don't discriminate folks for any reason. Look Ghandi said it : I love your Christ...i just don't like your Christians. What we have in this country is too many rogue christians that use the bible to their gain but not to actually do what Christ ask of all: Sacrifice for the good of your fellow man, give to the poor, care for the widow and the immigrant. So you see when ever a republican right winger(not a moderate or open minded Republican) takes this rogue christian stances thats what turns people off. I know i shouldn't had use politics to explain my position but in this country they go hand in hand when one group wants to oppress the other one :(

To the mods,

This is a long standing NFL thread. If you feel the need to take action regarding the religious and political talk that is taking place, then please just edit posts as opposed to sending the whole thread to PRSI where it does not belong. Thanks.

Sincerely,

I agree with you 100% since the 3 have collided head on since Tebow became an NFL QB

Don't worry. After Saturday, you won't her his name for a long time.

PS - Brady doesn't kneel/pray on the field. Only after his Audi is smashed.

All I can think about is this week being over and getting to Sunday. If the Texans D plays like they did on saturday the Ravens are in trouble.

And if the Broncos win, it will only be because the Patriots don't execute and therefore the Broncos won't be deserving of any praise. Right?

I think that for the Broncos to win, they have to be 100% percent at the same time as the Pats not playing up to par. It could happen.

That being said, the Broncos earned their way here and had the most exciting postseason play so far this year. I expect an equally amazing play from Tebow this weekend, and maybe for him to get the respect he deserves. If that means the Broncos will beat the Pats, well, that's another matter. Tebow can toss 300+ plus yards with 3 TDs against the Pats but the Pats can still find a way to win because of someone like Brady with the Gronk as a huge, reliable target.

The Broncos have to hog the clock and when they go against Brady, they have to take him down. Lesser teams than the Broncos have stopped Brady with this method. He's not Steve Young or Jim McMahon who can make something out of nothing and often does best when he's up against a wall and constantly hit. Getting to Brady will be another matter though.

Pretty much. Denver is hopeless. They squeaked in and have survived. Maybe I should give them credit for being at the right place at the right time.

lol.

Interesting stat of the day - Patriots played only 2 teams with winning records in 2011 and lost to both of them (PIT, NYG).

Nine times out of ten, if this game was played over that many times, I would give it to the Pats.

However, as we have seen with the Steelers, the Broncos can get it done. I have not seen too often where an underdog team has beaten two really strong opponents in a row in postseason, but Tebow and co. can be the first to do so. A lot of people are going to love the underdog that the Broncos are and like me, root for them. It really is a David vs. Goliath thing and that's what makes it fun.
