LSU TD called back for the new taunting rule

Whaddya think about the rule and enforcement?

I think it's a lame rule. Don't think it matters if a team gets their feelings hurt because they were about to get scored on. As far as this instance go, the broadcasters noted that Miles agreed with the officials that it was the right call, and the players were all smiles. At least they took it in good nature.

I think LSU can afford to be all smiles because they are kicking Florida's ass
But in a close game, it could be critical
Will be interesting to see how it plays out over the season

Edit: jump pass reminiscent of Tim Tebow by LSU as an "in your face" to the Gators
Gotta love college football

Getting pumped up for the last Texas A&M-Texas Tech game for a while (certainly the last game in Lubbock for the foreseeable future). This game has always been underrated nationally (often because it's been on obscure TV stations [like FX tonight] or not on TV at all [thanks, lame Big 12 TV deal]) but there have been some great ones over the years.'

And there's always been a lot of hate between these two, and there's been no dearth of it so far this year, either. This from the A&M AD a couple of hours ago:

Someone vandalized our buses in Lubbock. Excrement inside and outside of buses plus spray painted vulgarities on outside. Classy.

(For the record, I think it's hilarious)

Not only is it a horse **** rule, what that punter did was not "taunting" and shouldn't have been called even under the strictest (correct) interpretation of the horse **** rule.

...many eyes will be on Utah this year to see if so called "mid-majors" can really compete with the big boys week in and week out.

Only time will tell.

The jury is still out, but so far the answer is "no."

Anxious to see how TCU does next year in the Big 12.

Anyone who says OU is not a top 5 is out of their minds. At this point, I'll be the first to admit that LSU and Alabama deserve the #1 and #2 spots- but we all know they won't finish the season there. Wisconsin is a good team, but the #4 spot is fitting for them. They have a very easy schedule (with the exception of last week at Nebraska, but that seemed pretty easy for them), and really don't have to prove themselves for the rest of the year.

OU has a much harder schedule than most people give them credit for. FSU was a great team when we played them. I won't include Texas because they were never a threat. Kansas State is nothing to laugh at, especially with how they played against Baylor last week. Texas A&M is also not a pushover, especially in the first half. Baylor has been a pretty solid team this year, with a bit of bad luck this week. OSU is a very solid team- that'll be the best game of the regular season for us. I don't see us losing any of these games, though.

Because we are seeing that maybe FSU is way overrated (again) and still isn't all that good. And really, I don't think any team in the B12 will beat OU, because none of them are that good. I think KSU is smoke and mirrors, OSU has some kind of voodoo jinx vs. OU, and A&M can't seem to remember that there are two halves to a football game. The only way I see them losing another game in a weak B12 conference is if they pull one of those random choke games that seem to happen every year.

Lame, lame, lame. I hate this stupid rule. It's just another effort to turn college football into a No Fun League clone.

It's amazing some of the bush league crap that goes on in Lubbock. I remember attending an away game there years ago, and after they pulled off the upset, the fans started tearing up their own stadium. Pulling up bleachers, throwing trash cans around - that sort of thing.

Didn't they toss their goal posts into the Aggie section one year?

I thought Arkansas was the trailer park of the country

Ok, time for the Dawgs to silence that gawdawful Rocky Top nonsense

Crowell is over 100 in all 3 SEC games
And the defense is #2 in the country against 3rd down conversions
Win tonight and they are in position to win the East

Need this one Dawgs

Huh. Sounds like they would get along beautifully with LSU fans. Or West Virginia fans.

I thought Arkansas was the trailer park of the country

Yep. They beat us 12-0 in 2001, tore down the goal posts and shoved them into the A&M section.

Look, I know we have a new coach and everything, but his whole selling point was a "High Octane Offense," and when you can't beat Notre Dame, Iowa, or score more than 10 points against Rutgers, that's pretty bad... =(

And the first punch that started the fight was thrown by an A&M board of regents or one of their higher ups. Also in TTU defense that really is about the only way to get a goal post out of the stadium. Not that going that way was good form and really my understanding is that game was not one really worth rushing the field. 2 years before that it was worth it but not that game. A&M I believed sucked that year.

Either way the first punch was thrown by one of the higher ups at A&M and that is pretty bad. I believe A&M shut up pretty quickly when TTU released the tape of it.

Please don't drink and fly. :(

Ah, the wit of the Irish. :D

(What's that you say?? University is about learning, not football?? I call BS!!!) ;)

It's not being witty, it's the truth. :D I do wonder if that quote was while he was coaching at Arkansas, or afterward.

I like this quote concerning football: “A school without football is in danger of deteriorating into a medieval study hall.” (Frank Leahy)

Ol' Lou may be a blithering idiot much of the time now, but he has some good quotes. I like one of his quotes concerning being on TV: “Broadcasting is easy; you just talk until you think of something to say.“

No touchdowns
No turnovers
One punt

6-6

There for the taking for either team

Dawgs need Crowell :(
Hope he is able to contribute in the second half

A&M went 8-4 that year. Texas Tech went 7-5.

The first "punch" was thrown by the douchebags who tried to shove a goalpost into the stands.

Back to the present (and to reality), A&M is up 31-20 at halftime. Hang on for a bumpy ride in the second half!

Based on the past 2 games that is not enough of a lead to deal with a 2nd half team. Plus the stupid mistake of roughing the kicker.....

say what ever you want but the fact of the matter that the fight started and broke out by one of A&M hire ups swing there binoculars and hitting another A&M student. From there all hell broke out.
Simple fact is someone from A&M who should of never even been involved any any way shape or form was the match that started the fight. The goal post was the fuel. The hire up from A&M was the Match.

As I pointed out that is about the only way to get it out of the stadium with a goal post. There really is no other way to carry the goal post out of the stadium but threw that area.

You also proved A&M sucked that year. It was not a game worthy of rushing the field. How TTU did that year has no bearing here. What does have bearing is A&M did not do well that year and it was not a game worthy of rushing the field to begin with. If I remember correct A&M was unranked at that time and it was not a real upset like it was 2 years before hand.

Point is it was not a game worthy of rushing the field and the match was 100% from A&M hirer up hitting an A&M student. Both sides were at fault for that fight.

Got to love all the Texas Tech students in black face.

Ha ha ha ha!!

4th and 58?

Really, Georgia? Nice discipline. Wow.

And ANOTHER personal foul??!

What the hell is wrong with them?!

that has to be a record. I do not think I have ever seen something that bad. That is what going from field goal range to long punting range.
