Welcome back to the AP poll, Georgia. Keep on winning, please!

We dropped another spot to #7 in the Coach's poll, but we actually have two more points than last week. Heh. I'll take the points over the rank.

I'm not convinced it's going to be OU in the championship game. I think OK State beats them at the end of the season, and I think Wisconsin will just barely edge out OK State for the title game to play Alabama. Going with my gut tells me 'Bama is going to beat LSU on Nov. 5th.

I like the way you think sir!

Roll Tide!

After hearing that OK State is #1 in the computers, I change my opinion on OK State and Wisconsin. I think it's 'Bama and OK State in the title game.

Unfortunately I think we're going to have yet another stinkin' SEC team as the champion. *pukes*

:)

I disagree- I think it'll be OU v. Alabama in the title game. OSU is good, but they'll lose come December 3rd. I'm liking all the Boise haters (AKA Wisconsin fans) saying that they'd win the NC against anyone in the top 5 (BCS).

As much as I hate to say it, I don't think anyone else can come within two touchdowns of either Alabama or LSU. If we indeed end up with two undefeateds on the outside looking in, it's going to make the roar for a +1 that much stronger if the title game ends up being a blowout.

Or even better, if the loser of the LSU-Bama game beats a left-out, unbeaten team by 20+ (so long as that team isn't Boise, since the BCS honchos would use the beatdown as some sort of ridiculous vindication of their broken system).

Looks like the Big East has increased its exit fee to $10 million. That was rumored to only happen if Boise State, Air Force, Houston and SMU all agreed to join the conference. Hmmm...

It's also being reported that Missouri's application to join the SEC is "imminent."

I dunno about y'all, but I'm getting really tired of all this conference nonsense...

I agree you with you there. I feel like it has really dominated the season, to an extent. A LOT of teams are to 'blame' including most fans in this thread, except for most of the current SEC folks. Nearly everyone relevant in the Big 12 has contributed to the drama (OU, Texas, A&M, Baylor, Iowa State*, Missouri, etc.)

Everyone wants into the SEC or the PAC 12 and they aren't having it (unless you're TAMU ;)- doubt Mizzou will get accepted), the Big East lost two important schools and is sending out invitations like it's candy, the MWC-USA merger is about as exciting as most of those inter-conference games that will be played, and the Big Ten is being placid.

*Not sure if Iowa State was involved in the A&M potential lawsuit ordeal; too lazy to check at the moment.

Iowa and Baylor were the two schools treating to sue. They have the most to lose in a big 12 break up. Kanas State would be the next on that list but KU more than likely would be pressures to take KS with them and KU has basketball.
Baylor and Iowa do not have any political pressure they could used to be picked up. The rest of the schools are pretty safe and would have zero issues being picked up by an AQ conference.
Baylor only got into the Big 12 because TTU, UT, and A&M where all told state funding would be really hurt unless it happen. Just this time Baylor does not have the political power in Austin to force it and they know it.

The media in Houston is reporting that UH was officially invited last night.

Don't kid yourself. Texas Tech was forced on the Big 12 as much as Baylor was. If not for Bob Bullock (Tech alum and Texas Lt Gov at the time) and Anne Richards (Baylor alum and Texas Gov at the time), there never would have even been a Big 12.

A&M was headed to the SEC and Texas was headed to the Big Ten or Pac-10 until those two politicans stepped in and forced their unwanted alma maters in, which stymied the plans and forced together the marriage of convenience known as the Big 12.

Missouri to the SEC is imminent or so they say

Can't say I am surprised, but certainly not excited by this
Conference realignment in the SEC will be troublesome and will likely affect some long standing rivalries

that could cause the law suits to fire up from Baylor and Iowa because they have the most to loss by the break up of the big 12.

OU, OSU, UT and TTU are fairly safe in terms of being picked up. Big 12 is unstable. An unstably brought on at first by OU UT and in some ways A&M. All UT did with its network is make it worse.

A lot of people are saying now that Missouri would be in the SEC East if/when they join, and would be cross-division rivals with either Arkansas or A&M. Check out this geographical comparison of MU moving into the West (with Auburn moving to the East) vs. MU moving into the East and everything else staying the same.

The loss of Missouri won't cause the Big 12 to break up, and I fail to see how a Big 10 school would have any incentive to sue the SEC over the Big 12 falling apart, anyway.

it is one more step. A&M started it and it got close. I would not be surprised to see them throw law suits out of fear of the big 12 becoming more unstable.

The Big 12 needs to get back to 12 schools.

Neinas said not too long ago that if Missouri leaves there was a much greater chance of expanding back to 12 than if they stayed. So you might just get your wish.

Adidas came up with some special unis for Mississippi State to wear in this year's Egg Bowl.

I'm over the whole uni thing
I know it is a kid's game and a kid's thing, but I prefer the X's and O's and the game itselt

I prefer the classic style and old school unis

I hated the Dawgs and Boise's unis as much as I did the game

Leave the interchangeable unis to Oregon
Give me the plain jane stuff

This simply can not be overstated.

The very thing I love most about college football is very simple - it isn't pro football. So many schools come in with these new uniforms resembling either World League or Arena League uniforms, and in some cases (Georgia and Ohio State come to mind), displacing a great, classic look.

The various Maryland uniforms, while interesting to look at, don't belong in college football. The gray stuff being worn by Washington State and Oklahoma State looks atrocious. And Oregon has made a mockery of even themselves with all their disastrous uniforms and weird combinations.

I'm not against a throwback here and there, but I really wish this whole trend would go away and never come back.

Yeah, a friend sent that to me earlier today. Ugh. It's bad enough that it seems every equipment company has their own idea of maroon, ranging from crimson to almost purple, but this constant changing of uniforms is insult to injury. We have no gold in the school colors. Besides, I have always hated those all maroon uniforms. They have worn these ugly matte helmets a couple of games which I find annoying. No shine or anything.

All these schools need to get the idea. Notice the major schools don't tinker with their uniforms? Penn State, Alabama, USC, etc. don't do this crap.

I guess I'll go against the grain and say I don't mind 'em. Granted, some are completely atrocious, but I don't mind most of them.

But, the kids love them, and the programs will do whatever they can to recruit.

Yeah, Dan Mullen basically admitted that our uniform changes were for recruiting. He didn't come out and say it, but he hinted at it. Most coaches won't admit it, but that is the reasoning behind it. Personally, I'm old and cranky and hate the things, but hey, if it helps recruiting, I'll live with it. I just hope they never bring out the horrible black uniforms we have used the past couple of years. We have never won a game while wearing those things. Burn 'em.

In other news: Former Mississippi State and Buffalo Bills center Kent Hull died yesterday at only 50 years old. He was the center on those great 90s Bills teams and one of the best players ever to come out of MSU. He was also a very smart and incredibly nice guy.

Suspensions flying out today..

Miami suspended one player, SEC suspended 2 Georgia players and 1 Vanderbilt, and LSU suspended 3 players (no way they'll stay out for two games).

Crazy!
