Wow is the badger coaching staff just atrocious. Took a team loaded with talent and turned it into a mediocre minnesota-esque type of season. Barry alverez needs to figure something else out, this coaching staff cant cut it

Here's your Sunday morning dose of ridiculousness:

5-3 Texas A&M is #8, 5-2 UTexas is #9, 4-4 Missouri is #11

Brilliant work, Sagarin

I don't know if I'd go so far as to say that their season has become Minnesota-esque, but losing two weeks in a row on hail marys is a horrible way to lose a shot at the BCS Championship (almost as bad as blowing three double-digit second half leads ).

So sorry I missed the epic Stanford / USC game yesterday. Sounded like it made game 6 of the World Series sound kind of hum-drum by comparison!

USC is not a bad team at all. They're loaded with 4* and 5* talent, have one of the best QB's and WR's in the country, went to South Bend and easily beat Notre Dame the previous week, &c. &c. Stanford coming to the Coliseum was easily their biggest and most important game of the year. Have to give them much credit for an excellent performance.

OTOH, Stanford did not play their best game, and the injuries are starting to mount. I think they would have won comfortably if Shayne Skov (ACL, out for the reason) and Delano Howell (hand injury, return date TBD) were lined up for Stanford on D. They both made a huge difference in stuffing the run, and both Washington and SC did very well on the ground with them absent. It's going to be a nailbiter against Oregon in two weeks, really hope Howell can be back by then.

As for SC's safety getting "unfairly" called for a headshot against Owusu, that was a reputation call as he got flagged for several personal fouls the week before. Poor Owusu might actually have to call it a premature career; such a shame as he was a real weapon last season, especially on kick returns.

If they can get healthier again, this type of challenge will make Stanford stronger in the long run. Their backloaded schedule will lift their SOS above Boise State's soon enough.

This weekend isn't even over yet and I'm pumped for next week. What a great day of college ball! I know LSU is the popular pick, but I think Bama will pull it out. Should be a good one.

We're not all that good, but I like our chances against Tech and their abysmal run defense. I think we'll put up some points. Trouble is - I'm sure they will too. I think it'll be a track meet, with our D doing just enough to pull out the win.

Oh, and:

Oh, and:

You have that trouble plus you know TTU is going to want some redemption after the showing they had again Iowa and what better way to do it than to beat UT in Austin.

I agree. I think 'Bama is going to pull it out. I'm thinking a low scoring affair. Something like 17-10 or some such.

I'm actually really excited for this game, too. Which is odd for me because I usually don't care to watch SEC games. This one just carries so much weight, and they're such great teams that it should be a blast!

On a side note.. I really hope we get to go to the Sugar Bowl and face LSU. Of course no one would give us a chance in Hell to win that game, which is why it would be so great to go down to their house (basically) and beat them. :D

I think LSU is two TDs better than Alabama on a neutral field and 7-10 points better in Tuscaloosa. Should be a great game, though.

Agreed. Should be a great game.

Looking forward to the OU v. TAMU game. You going, Ignatius?
Although I think Arkansas is way overrated, I think they'll do well against South Carolina and send them packing from anything near the top 15.

Besides that, kind of a boring weekend!

^^^
The Dawgs would appreciate the help from Arkansas
If they beat SCarolina, the Dawgs will control their own destiny in the East
Dawgs have Auburn and Kentucky remaining
Cocks have Arkansas and Florida

I don't give the Dawgs (or the Cocks) a chance in Atlanta against the West
But I would welcome an East title after last year's debacle

I've just realized I won't be able to watch the LSU @ 'Bama game because I'll be down in Vegas watching Kellen Moore beat the all-time FBS win record. :)

Yep, I'll be there. Haven't been up to Norman since 1993. Any advice on spots to hit before/after the game?

I suggest you find a good bar to go to for some drinking because you know that OU is going to pound TA&M. They sure as hell are not going to allow themselves to be embarrassed again at home lossing to yet another unranked team. TTU beating them was bad enough. The stinking only made worse by the fact that TTU turned around and lost to Iowa. I sadly lack enough booze to drown out that embarrassment but I can still chant fire tubby.

As for UT and TTU. UT better watch out. TTU seems to be doing really well on the road this year. Playing in Lubbock more than likely would be safer for UT. Tech seems to really be sucking at home but doing fairly well on the road.

Heck this might apply for A&M. They seem to be doing better when they are playing on the road rather than at home. This could be ugly for the A&M vs KU game.

Who cares? Even if A&M was 8-0 I wouldn't expect them to win in Norman. I'm going for the experience because these two teams aren't likely to play again for a long time.

Do you ever get tired of being retarded?

Eww, why would you WANT to stay in Norman any longer than necessary? :D

Is this an example of a TTU education? Maybe I should tell my niece she really doesn't want to go to TTU, after all. :)

well then that is another story.

Oh are you insulted. Lets face some facts. This year both TTU and A&M have more or less sucked at playing home games. TTU more so that A&M but still they both suck.

The only good win A&M has gotten at home this year is again Baylor. SMU and Iowa St those should both be give mes.
A&M at home lost to OSU, Arkansas and MU. Of those they were all 3 blown games that A&M should of had in the bag. They lead at the 1/2 by a fair margin in all 3.

On the road A&M seems to be able to pull it off. Chances are it will give OU a run for its money. I expect them to loose but still give them a run for their money.

KU and UT are both at home and it seems this year A&M has been sucking playing at home. No if and or buts about it. They are at least doing better than TTU playing at home.

TTU seems to be doing fairly well on the road but truly sucking at home. Even the give me games at home they struggled with.

Everybody needs to just calm down and relax
You are missing the big point here
The Dawgs beat the Gators :p

On another note, who is the rogue voting posts up and down in here? Ha, Ha!

Eww, why would you WANT to stay in Norman any longer than necessary? :D

We're actually staying in OKC (Bricktown) but my Dad is legendary for getting antsy and wanting to be at the stadium hours before the game. Hanging out somewhere within walking distance of the stadium means that I won't get suckered into sitting IN the stadium hours and hours early.

Is this an example of a TTU education? Maybe I should tell my niece she really doesn't want to go to TTU, after all. :)

If your niece wants to get drunk every night and find a husband that will make slightly more than minimum wage his entire life, Texas Tech is the place for her ;)

Lets face some facts. This year both TTU and A&M have more or less sucked at playing home games.

This year's A&M and Tech teams have nothing in common. Tech are bottom feeders who rose up for one great game, then promptly got slaughtered by one of the worst teams in the country. A&M, meanwhile, is as talented as any team in the country but has a brain dead coach who doesn't know how to manage a lead in the college game (I'm a little unsure which is worse, though).

Kansas probably won't win a conference game this year, but if they do it certainly won't be at Kyle Field. Just because they had the Techturds on the run doesn't mean they are scary to anyone else.

Well, campus itself is pretty historic looking and a good walk, so that could be something.

As far as cuisine and shopping, the best thing is probably Campus Corner. It's literally right across the street from campus and has a lot of restaurants and stores. For food (something quick) I'd recommend Victoria's Pasta Shop or Hideaway Pizza. If you want a more sit-down kind of restaurant, you could stop at Interurban which is right off I-35 on the way back from OKC, Lindsey street exit (108B).
