I got a Samsung! I'm so pleased being in the knowledge that my SSD is somewhat faster than the hapless Toshiba in a benchmark!

To celebrate, I shall download the Internet.

Best response to this SSD debate I've seen yet.

I am a bit confused about one thing. I've got the Samsung SSD which is acknowledged to be an order of microtude faster that the Toshiba SSD, but I can still only type at 22 wpm.

Facepalm was nice too.

I got the 128GB toshiba drive. My results from Xbench were the following:

Code:
	System Info
		Xbench Version 1.3
		System Version 10.7 (11A2063)
		Physical RAM 4096 MB
		Model MacBookAir4,2
		Drive Type APPLE SSD TS128C
	Disk Test	333.09
		Sequential	219.91
			Uncached Write	309.99	190.33 MB/sec [4K blocks]
			Uncached Write	307.06	173.74 MB/sec [256K blocks]
			Uncached Read	108.20	31.67 MB/sec [4K blocks]
			Uncached Read	405.76	203.93 MB/sec [256K blocks]
		Random	686.28
			Uncached Write	474.59	50.24 MB/sec [4K blocks]
			Uncached Write	643.12	205.89 MB/sec [256K blocks]
			Uncached Read	2257.47	16.00 MB/sec [4K blocks]
			Uncached Read	580.20	107.66 MB/sec [256K blocks]

Would be interested in seeing numbers from someone with Samsung 128 GB drive.

Aww man. Is my air really inferior? Maybe I'll return it and try my luck again.

exchange proved pertinent to this thread

Well... I took my 11" "Ultimate" in for an issue I thought they could fix at the genious bar. Instead of a quick in and out, they ended up having to swap my machine. I figured what the hell, I ran checked the specks on my new one and low and behold...

Sammy SSD AND Display.

My previous was a Samsung SSD and LG Display.

I really do not see the difference between the two displays to be honest- my 2010 11" Ultimate was an LG panel, and it does not seem any different?

Oh... why... did... I... click... on... this... thread... ?...

Well, I couldn't stand it and checked my MBA 11" thinking I would regret it:

APPLE SSD SM128C
LTH116AT01A04

Did I for once just get lucky??

nice VMMan... when & where'd you get yours

Thanks guys for the Samsung confirmation!

@leahp81,

Amazon - I paid $1194, but when they're in stock, the price was reduced to $1139.

BTW, I would have sworn before I checked that I have the Toshiba/LG combo, too.

This thread can make a person think lesser of something that is truly amazing (regardless of the component manufacturer).

Mba 13" 128gb

Looks like it's the Samsung SSD, but what's it tell me about the display?

Just bought at Apple Store in Sydney

Is this good?:

Color LCD: LTH133BT01A03
Resolution: 1440 x 900
Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888)
Main Display: Yes
Capacity: 251 GB (251,000,193,024 bytes)
Model: APPLE SSD TS256C
Revision: CJAA0201
Native Command Queuing: No

Can other owners of samsung ssd and displays confirm if their macbook air box had the label "with samsung ssd & display".

This would be a great if it was consistent.

Alternatively, did anyone get a box that was marked "with inferior Toshiba SSD and LG Philips display"?
