Dude
Don't know if you remember but I did pick your boyz in seven and I think I even got the score right in the 7th game.;) Will still got a long way to go.;):D

i dont remember haha, because i think i was drunk for all of those games... i remember game 3 because i was there though.

back to mlb:

indians got ubaldo... sox deal for harden falls through. interesting day.

Braves trade Jordan Schafer and 3 minor league pitchers (no top prospects) for Astros Michael Bourn.

Bourn is batting .303 and leads the NL with 39 stolen bases, something the Braves desperately need in a leadoff man. He is also a 2 time gold glover.

He adds much needed speed and OBP to the Braves, and hopefully a shot in the arm.

Braves have the 4th best record in MLB but trail the Phillies by 5 games, the widest margin of all the divisions.

Uggla seems back on track, now if we can just get Chipper healthy and Heyward back to form.

Thank god for our pitching and Venters/Kimbrell

Freddie Freeman has been a godsend as well

We need him to be more than a beast, we need him to be Jason Bourne :D

We basically gave up nothing to get him
Swapped CF's and our is on the DL
Gave 3 minor league pitchers, none are top prospects

dude, I love how the cockier you get about your philly teams. the worse they end up folding when it's all said and done :p :p :p

Dude,I KNOW will be there in October;) Can you say the same about your boyz:eek: So talk all the **** you want...:p;)
Peace

For sure I thought he was going to the Yankee's:eek: Props to the Tribe for pulling the trigger:cool:
Peace

Thank God they didn't. The Rockies were asking for too much for a guy who is having an off year. I'm just not sure the reward was worth the risk.

And, man, what a crappy few days if you're an Astros fan. They just traded away the only 2 reasons why anybody would see the team. I really hope some of these prospects turn out to be decent here because at this point the future looks bleak.

Here in Houston, fans have already turned towards football. What a sad state for a team that was in the World Series 6 years ago.

It's hard to tell that you actually dumped him...as you seem to be using the Astros as some sort of major/minor league affiliate. Hopefully the move for Pence works out better than the move for Oswalt. Happ is a joke and so is the fact that the Astros agreed to pay a lot of Oswalt's salary. We'll see how the kids they got in that deal work out.

I don't see Wade keeping his job for very long after the new ownership takes control.

And don't forget that "wackjob" Brent Myers:D:D:D

He actually pitched pretty well last year. But Wade should have traded him at the deadline when his value was at it's best, instead of giving him that silly extension. The media here killed him for that move, and ultimately they were right. This year he's pitching exactly the way everyone thought he would.

Could Pence have started last night with the Astros, and after the deal went through, during the game, switch and go play for the Phillies (assuming the Phils were able to have a uniform with his name and number ready by then). Is such a thing allowed? Has it ever happened?

Edit: Nevermind, forgot that rosters can't be changed in the middle of a game. Did find 2 instances where a player was traded to the opposing team between 2 games of a double header though.

As you mentioned, he couldn't play in the same game because the roster has to be finalized before the game starts. But I'm absolutely positive that a few players have played for different teams on the same day. The difference is that the second game has to be much later in the day to allow for the player to arrive there on time. I can't think of the actual occasion that it's happened, but I'm sure it has.

It looks like Joel Youngblood is the only player to get a hit with 2 different teams in the same day.

And as I recall, Deion Sanders played for the Falcons and the Braves on the same day

The Giants had better get back to winning starting tonight, or kiss first place in the NL West goodbye. Linecum's on the hill tonight, let's get this done!

Please?

What did he do?

saito threw inside on pujols to back him off the plate and beaned him, pretty standard play. larussa comes out and stares down saito. Next half inning larussa has his pitcher throw TWICE at braun, beaning him in the back the second time. He also accused the brewers of "cheating" publicly, saying the lights get brighter at miller park when the cardinals are batting

what a D-bag

Giants dropped their fifth in a row, letting the D-Backs catch up to them in the standings. The wheels have fallen off since they left Philly: bad pitching, nonexistent offense. Not a pretty sight.

There's lots of baseball left to be played... There's lots of baseball left to be played... There's lots of baseball left to be played... I keep telling myself.

tony larussa is the absolute dirtiest bush league manager in baseball.

I'd say it was well deserved after hitting Pujols. He might have to go on the DL thanks to Marcum.

Edit: My bad, Saito. That's what I get for posting early in the morning. Regardless, Albert is questionable for today's game, but you know Braun will be in there. It's not bush league, it's old school baseball. The pitcher has to protect his offense.
