I knew I liked you - so I saved you a seat next to me on the loser couch. Here we can lament our teams disappointing us and exchange John Lackey/A-Rod horror stories. ;)

I'm pretty sure that's your only insult, because given how embarrassing the Red Sox were in September, if I were a fairweather fan I wouldn't a) be in this thread, b) still admit to being a Red Sox fan, and c) be sparring with trash-talking Phillies fans. So bite me.

Let's call it the couch of not winning. :D

And extra points for ending your post with bite me. ;)

As a Tiger fan I was hoping to see Gibby and the D'Backs move up. Was also hoping to see St. Louis die out. Don't really want to play them yet again.

you won't be seeing them so no worries ;)

Help me understand this. Your a Brewers fan but live in the NY area? Down here in Philly that would be a VIOLATION;)

The only guys that rounded over and died was OUR LINEUP...

What a way to end the Rangers game- looks like they could be heading back to the World Series.

I was really hoping to see Arizona (my hometown team) make it, too. But I'm still proud of Gibby and crew's great comeback season and honestly, they have nothing to be ashamed of with their performance in the NLDS, either. In the end, the Brewers just played harder when it counted in Game 5.

It was nice to see a great matchup between two small market teams for a change. Hopefully the Crew can get out of the funk they're in right now in the NLCS.

The Cardinals were told they had diarrhea last night. The runs just kept coming.

Wow, I guess with the Yankees, Phillies and Sox out of the post season everybody here took their balls and went home

I hope Tony La Russa and the Cardinals thank the Braves when they make their World Series speech

Texas Rangers v St. Louis Cardinals
Nobody is interested?
Really?

Hope the Rangers take it. They deserve it. Even without Cliff Lee they improved significantly from last season.

They'll turn around last year's World Series heartbreak and win it in 5.

To be honest I haven't really payed much attention to the LCS at all. I really wanted to see the Brewers go all the way this year. I guess I'll have to root for the Rangers, they don't whine as much.

You and me both. I find it kind of ironic that A-Rod came from Texas and they are now in the playoffs and well A-Rod is sitting at home resting up for next year. :D:):D

Damn you Yankees...... grrr

To be fair to A-Rod, when he was on the team the Rangers really sucked. He would have had to of waited 6 more years to be on a winning team.

This is true,,, I just find it ironic that is all.....

Also, to be fair....A-Rod got his ring 2 years ago....Texas still doesn't have any. :D

Yes we did!!!! What was that.. 27 or 28.. I don't know I lost count! :D:)

In all seriousness I just find it ironic that the team that gave him the 10 year contract worth X amount is in the world series and he is at home. That is all.

This one is a toss of for me. Don't really care who wins I just hope it is a good series and it goes the full seven and each game is close. No blow outs!

I think it's the opposite of that. Trading Rodriguez to the Yankees was an important step in building the team they have now. If they don't trade him, they probably aren't in the World Series this year, and probably wouldn't have been last year either.

The fact is that a contract of the size and duration that Rodriguez signed in 2000 was always going to be crippling to any team that had fewer financial resources than the Yankees. By dedicating so much of their payroll to one player, they were too constrained to compete, even if the Rangers owner hadn't been financially stretched at the time.

The only thing that's really notable about it is that Rodriguez ended up on the one team that could afford to pay him all along. He just played for the wrong team for the first few years of it.

Long forgotten "what if": Before the Yankees traded for him, he was almost sent to the Red Sox instead. If that trade hadn't been nixed by the players' union, who knows how differently the last ten years would have transpired!

I couldn't agree more. His contract would cripple most teams. I couldn't have said it better.

But I still find it funny. :)
