shipping times officially changed for me today. now it says shipping in 5-7 business days, and it delivers between june 27th and june 29th. however, it still says "not yet shipped". that will probably change hopefully in the upcoming days.

Exact same thing for me here in Indianapolis. Got the above schedule change at about 7PM EST. Ordered on 6/8.

This also happened for me today. Changed to ships 5-7 business days (delivery July 1)

I expect it even a little earlier (knowing apple)

So, does anyone know why our iMacs seem to spend so much time sitting at Pudong airport? I am seeing other people with what looks like 4 day delays.

Mine is shipping to Australia and is on its second day at Pudong with TNT and am trying to get an idea for how long it might take.

Same here, parcle collected on 13.06.2011, and still sitting at Pudong, the estimated delivery date is today.

disappointed.

I ordered a maxed out iMac w/ ssd except for the memory last 06/12 and was supposed to ship in 06/27. Expected delivery date was 07/06.

It was shipped today 06/16 via DHL and says expected delivery date is 06/28/2011.

Trim

Anticipating the arrival of the new beast  I would like to ask to the new happy owners : I saw on some screenshot about SSD "trim support: yes".
Does that mean that TRIM can be supported and that you still have to use a third party soft to trim the SSD?
Or that TRIM is already in action, working silently in the background?

:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Can anybody give some light on this?

Birdy

The SSD has TRIM support, but Snow Leopard has not. It will be a new feature in Lion. Not 100% sure though. Also see http://paulstamatiou.com/mac-osx-lion-ssd-trim-support

got it since 30mins ago,

ssd 256gb toshiba sata-II 3gb/s, nothing new
hd 2tb hitachi desktar 7k2000

time to boot up, 22 seconds exactly (just configured, nothing installed)

What do you think (or anyone else who got one with both drives)? I'm considering the 2TB + SSD config. Did you go 27" or 21.5"? It's nice that either can have the upgraded disks but the price seems so close it's almost pointless to go with the 21.5".

Is the performance all you hoped for? Have you installed Windows? If so did you give it part of the SSD to boot?

Enjoy the new iMac!

Cheers,

Ordered 6/7---- IT'S COMING!!!!!

Woke up this morning with an email from Apple that it shipped. (i7 maxed out).

Ordered 6/7.
Original delivery: 7/27
Revised delivery: 7/26
Revised again yesterday: 6/27 - 6/29
As of this morning: 6/20 (picked up by FedEx)
Destination: Indianapolis

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Thank You. I was wondering the same thing. So as long as you trust Lion in the first 30 days, you get it free....

even if you don't trust it, get it.

It will be in the app store, so it will show up as a "purchased app"

just make a backup of your snow leopard install or anything you care about.

Trim isn't supported on all ssd's.

This is the same thing that they did with the 2011 macbook pro.

Also, despite what people say TRIM isn't needed on all ssd's. A perfect example:

my 2011 macbook pro had a 128 gb apple ssd which supported TRIM. I replaced it with 240 gb OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 6g 240 gb SSD which does not support TRIM by default in snow leopard (the drive itself will support trim but apple doesn't allow it)

I don't have any negative effects which you'd expect to find when you do not have TRIM. no slowdowns. nothing.

Order placed for 27 inch, 3.4 corei7, 16gb, 2tb hhd with ssd and 6970m 2gb on May15 and delivery changed several times with last being July 1st. Cancelled last week. Reordered same machine this morning and also received the back to school promotion with delivery date June 29th. Reading others having some difficulty deciding what to place on which drive, hope someone posts (Apple) recommendations to keep max speed--in my case 256GB is enough for most everything, would like to keep lightroom pictures on HHD eventually. Next time will be looking at a Mac Pro and two 500gb ssd's or one and a thunderbolt external, etc. Mac Pros are due for refresh, but new hardware choices for Apple will not be ready for some time. Tired of HHDs going bad and looking to get away from them---still a hassel even with Apple Care coming to the house and changing them within two days each time one has gone. Can't say enough for Apple Care......

Just rang TNT Australia, the man wasn't sure either. There was not even a sorry during the conversation, but lots of OK^, very impatient.

bad impression for TNT

Anyone in Australia got the same situation?

I am in Sydney, ordered on May 19th.

Code:
Date	Time	Location	Status
15 Jun 2011 10:47:25 Pudong International Airport Shipment In Transit.
14 Jun 2011 20:25:24 Pudong International Airport Shipment Received At Transit Point.
14 Jun 2011 18:35:00 Shanghai Shipment In Transit.

14 Jun 2011 18:00:36 Shanghai Shipment Collected From Sender.
14 Jun 2011 10:00:00 Shanghai Held Awaiting Correct Address. Follow Up Actions Underway.

I am hoping this means that mine will depart for Sydney in the next 12 hours or sooner. I hope it does not get held up though.

I can remember waiting for my MacBook Air in Sydney and it had a similar message about a delay. I called TNT or whoever it was back then and they said it would be another day. Meanwhile, 1 hour later it turned up at my desk, and then the tracker updated. I would expect you could still get it tomorrow.

I was hoping mine would come in tomorrow, but looks like that may have only been a dream.

Just purchased mine (a 27" 2.7GHz) and added it to the spreadsheet.

Finally replacing my 1GHz TiBook - what a machine!

Out for delivery! ETA is < 93 minutes!

CONGRATULATIONS!! Especially since you are the one to start this thread!:D

If you are like me you will be peaking out the window constantly for the driver, turning off any ambient noises so that you don't miss the sound of someone knocking, and counting every minute.
