It was the same thing that happened against Seattle. They came out flying, put up huge points and were rocking the opponent, then they just quit in the second half.
SF was down 17 points. Coming back and winning that game is inexcusable.
It was a fun game though to watch.
I think that is a gross oversimplification
First, nobody quit in the second half, that's just ridiculous
Give the 49ers credit for making plays and adjustments
It was a hard fought game and the Falcons turned the ball over twice to stall themselves
The 49er fumble at the goal was huge, but they still ended up with great field position
Teams fight hard and come back, that is why they make it this far in the playoffs to begin with
A lesser team folds, but Seattle and San Francisco are both great teams
That said, the Falcons still controlled their own destiny at the end
They just didn't make the play on 3rd and 4th down
I tip my hat to the 49ers, their defense was shredded all day like the Falcons
They just made the play when it counted
