And how exactly do you imagine the mechanism that moves the stand to the top of the iMac to work? In my eyes this would eat up way to much space on the inside.

I suppose a sliding rail could work

This offers a much better solution.

This offers a much better solution.

Its Apple so i know could work but i prefer a sliding rail..two point attach instead of two great snodes.
Do you talk about this because the teardrop could mean a touch display?
Don't think we will see,i suppose the teardrop is just to house the Gpu-Hd-Cpu while on top having just the led panel.

----------

well obviously someone is already preparing for the new iMacs in Baggot Street, Dublin.

Is it real?

I wouldn't be surprised if its a silent update.

I was thinking the same thing until news of the tear drop design came in. Surely if they've changed the design to a substantial degree they will want to showcase it as Apple is as much about design aesthetics as it is computing.

I just posted this because it is a much more functional design than using two rails. also Apple applied for the patent so it is more likely to be used. When however? I can't say.

Why are we still talking about stocks anymore?

Also, no way it's gonna be a silent update. They've worked their butt out to kill the iMac's extreme thickness, and it's gonna be a silent update? No effing way, Jose.

I've been waiting for 7 months for the 2012 iMac... (I know....)

I don't wanna get disappointed again, but these last news look promising.

I'm starting to believe again! :)

the history repeats itself

So, the history repeats itself... All iMacs in the Belgian store are currently marked with 1-3 shipping days (see screenshot)

Sorry in advance if this has already been posted on here but I thought you might all be interested to know that a 'person' mentioned in this article (towards the end) claims the new iMacs will begin selling on Oct. 24th, the day after the supposed ipad event...

http://appleinsider.com/articles/12...al-apple-will-release-12-models-in-two-colors

Mmmmm While I don't care if its a day before or after I'm just happy that new iMacs will be in next week, I find hard to believe it'd be one day after they'd begin shipping, what are they gonna get done the next day???? Lol there's not much they can do, I mean I understand if they arrive in store the next day but I think we're gonna be able to order them right after the event, but that's just my opinion

Getting tired of this troll

Erm.. he's not a troll. Just a little frustrated, I believe he's in the "waiting since April" crowd. Actually I thought that particular post was pretty funny.

-------------------

So we have the following all rumored to be announced next week:
- iPad Mini
- updated New iPad
- iMacs
- 13" rMBP
- Mac Mini

I would guess that a few of these (my leading candidates are Mac Mini and updated New iPad) wouldn't be put on the stage. They'd be casually mentioned at the end or just press released right after.

So you sir, always what so sure it wouldn't be in an event... Like I said it seems like apple it's been working on the weird side these days not your fault but I was always. Sure they'd show it at an event, it's a new design apple like to show off their stuff, I also disagree I don't think we'll see a new new iPad not even a twicked one I know there's heat issues and what not, but some new iPads have not even been in stores for that long in some countries, apple might want to redesign them next year, but none the less I enjoy your post. ;):D

My arguments for releasing an updated New iPad are:
- LTE in places not named The United States of America
- Lightning connector
- Reverse the heat/thickness compromises they've been living with
- Put iPads on a holiday release schedule.

The argument against is just that it's only been 7 months since the last one. I don't know anything here, but if I absolutely had to place a bet, it would be on the updated model.

Yes, it looks like they're doing a big bang event. Or possibly, a focused event followed by a big bang launch. They may not even put the rMBP on the stage.. everyone can just pinch to zoom out a picture of the 15" and get what the 13" looks like already. Not a whole lot to talk about it. Maybe it's an iEvent (iPads & iMacs), and the rest is silent updates? Who knows. My main point is that if the item for which you wish to throw money at Apple isn't put on the stage, that doesn't mean it's not coming the next day.

No invitation yet?
I see myself getting a new Mac mini if they offer it in quad core, add extra memory and a second ssd and maybe upgrade my monitor.
