Before you guys get too excited, just remember... it ain't for real until Apple takes your credit card payment. I seem to remember being told "iMac refreshes with tomorrow's event" as recently as WWDC in June, after a SKU list leak and everything. How'd that turn out?

I do hope it's for real.

Where do these number come from?

And just before we get too carried away why does the emergence mean that they'll be released on the 24th? They could not be until November or December for all we know, the numbers just signify that the new iMacs probably exist, right?

No mention of iMacs in that invite link just above this post.....

First time to the show eh buddy? Enjoy the ride.

All evidence show that people who "get their hopes up" and risk getting disappointed do better and are generally more happy in life. Why do you insist on depriving people of hope? If you wish, I can link you to the TED talk about the subject.

I've been on the ride since May and I want to get off now.

Where do the numbers come from then?

As I recall, on June 23 it was like "Here's part numbers! Some of them might be iMacs!" and on June 24 it was like "Nope! So sorry. But hey! Retina MacBooks!"

So yes, we should maintain control of our faculties for another week or so. But the evidence looks really strong.

9to5 is telling us that "some" of the iMac part numbers have ship dates in "several weeks". Yay.

Well 9to5Mac has a contact that's a retailer in Australia, so that's where they get theirs.

You know what would make this better? Not trying to be a 27" iPad.

could I ask why people choose the 27inch iMac over the 21inch. I haven't got an iMac at the moment so I dont really know as i'm only using a 15inch laptop.

Finally some good news. Finally get to put that old dell down and drop windows for good. Even if we have to wait a few weeks for stock at least we will have something concrete by next week. Then everyone can start their 2013 iMac threads!

Is this for real o_o" I can finally shave my beard ahahaha. Just a thing i was doing. Oh man this is exciting :D

the 21" is 1920x1080, which is fine, but the 27" is a whopping 2560x1440... for anyone that does design work, that extra screen real estate is definitely in use at all times

They have their sources. If you study up on past Mac releases, part numbers almost always show up just days before new models show up. And 9to5 Mac is, as far as I remember, always right on the dot. This is it.

Also, again historically speaking, no Apple products are ever released within November or December. October is always their final hurrah of the year.

Thanks, I will go for the 27in but hopefully its not 1 or 2 months delayed.

I still don't understand how they'd have part numbers if some of them won't get released, does that make any sense, I'm so pissed if the 27 inch I want is not out by then, this is really effin annoying

They will still have the part numbers even if it wont be shipping for 1-2 weeks.

It's happened before. It happened with the last real update of the Mac Pro. It was not immediately in stock, yet you could order it on Apple's site. It just took a month to ship out.

So is the new stock on the ship now to arrive in time for the 23rd ?

Could be a bit of an iPhone new release shortage and waiting list.
Depending on how confident Apple are in selling out the initial volume, or how many factories are producing the new models.

Looking to buy from Best Buy to burn through my rewards points. If Apple Stores are expected to have the new iMac in-stock the day after the announcement, how long is the wait for other retailers?

Once again, "gtfo"

Quite the hypocrisy! you are always telling people to "gtfo" if they are going to be negative, yet here you are complaining, like I said before, like a petulant child! Despite all the great news that graces us today, you are still whining like a true pessimist! You really need to "stf*" and be appreciative that we are getting new and redesigned iMacs. Big freaking deal you will be waiting while "effin annoyed" for a couple extra weeks. Grow up and realize that there are people that wait without food, shelter, and safety in different parts of the world. I'm sure you could muster up enough will, to get on by an extra couple of weeks, until you get your precious iMac. You are the very definition of negative, and yet your lack of insight sickens me. End rant :D
