The trouble that I have is that I saw a total of 24 SKUs, and in that regard, it does not seem to make sense that the IMACs would have that many SKUs or alternatively that the IMAC SKUs would be so similar to the other products. Does Apple create the same SKUs based on release date or product?

Those SKU's are for the rumoured iPad mini and a possibly updated (with Zeus' cable) iPad 3. Think it explains that in the two separate 9to5 stories, I'll find links and return...

Hope these help.

Is it possible to buy a new iMac in October?

Is it possible to buy a new iMac in October and what is best to buy online or go to the store. I have a 5 minute walk to a store. Goes well to order in the shop way of thinking might throw in more ram. How does the warranty if you change the ram memory itself? Is not it better to order one more ram from the beginning.?

Thank you very much, Shane. I saw some variation of the first article with the 24 SKUs, which to me did not add up to any IMACs ( not the way that I was reading it), but I had not seen the separate series of SKUs, which does seem to make it much more compelling to reach the conclusion that those SKUs could be IMACs rather than some other device.

Of course, people participating in this thread are coming to the conclusion that new IMACs are coming out next week based on a variety of inferences, and no real direct evidence. Nonetheless, I am also of the opinion that the inferences are pretty strong about the IMac being included in next week's announcement, and really a count down of six days is not too long to wait in order to hear something more direct (and maybe I will even have my credit card in a quick draw mode), though usually I prefer to be a little more deliberate rather than buying on an impulse (that potential impulse will depend upon the extent to which I perceive the new IMACs to be head and shoulders above and beyond the 2011 IMACS b/c we know quite likely if the new IMACs are sufficient replacements (and sufficient supplies), then the 2011 IMACs will drop in price (maybe $200 to$400)).

Four Mac Minis called Good, Better, Best and Ultimate? I don't think so.

I'm not entirely sure if the "good, better, best, ultimate" thing is Apple's line or the retailer. Most likely apple only gives the SKU, and retailer adds whatever tag they see fit.

The reason why people don't think its an Mac mini, is that there is currently 3 mac minis, and its hard to conceive what role a 4th mini would play.

What's bothering you, the number four or the nomenclature? Because the adjectives are referring within the range rather than all of Apple's products, they could easily use 'ultimate' as the best Mac Mini there is. And there are three in the range right now, they could easily introduce a fourth one featuring, oh I don't know, great big GPU for powering retina TB supply :)

There is also confirmed new Mac minis, so dont doubt the iMacs are coming. 9to5mac will proberly post pricelist later today or tomorrow.

Everyone in the know is suggesting new iMacs, and are pushing that notion hard. They might be wrong, but forgive me for hoping they are right, rather than finding your speculations to be correct.

It's very easy to take every rumor by itself and denying its accuracy, it get't harder when you have to explain the full picture. The full picture is heading towards new iMacs next week.

The leaked SKU's can't be Mac Mini. The SKU's indicate 2 categories of models, with one in each being better than the other. This doesn't apply to the current lineup of Mac Minis, so unless that changes they cannot be anything else than iMac SKU's.

So, that would imply the iMac size range is not changing - choice between 21" and 27" - no 32" as rumoured.

I still hope, one day Apple uses IBM Power chips... then Apple will be IMO THE best computer once again. The P7 chips smoke anything Intel offers, but it seems like Macs and PC's are becoming the same, only with OS and design differences, and that's it. Us Mac users back in the day KNEW why we used the Mac, and hopefully Apple will see that too in a future redesign because the performance is beyond anything going from Intel.
What would blow my mind is a newly redesigned MacPro using Power 7+. The 12 core Intel Macs are slow in comparison... and a new iMac with just a single P7 would be nice.
Here's for someday, this redesign!

there are 2 mac minis and one server. I doesn't make sense to add another and categorize it into 2 different families and call them good, better, etc.....if anything they would make it 1 s. If you believe this is more probable then you are making an effort not to think the most probable.

Cannot find Mini Sku link? Can you be so gentle to post it?Thanks.

Well, another thing is that I don't think Apple will launch 4 different models of Mac Minis. There are 2 right now, plus one server.

The 24 was a different list. Those are ALL iPads. Best guess is 12 mini's and 12 maxi's. The 4 iMacs are independent from that.

It could also be for the Apple Television. 46"/55" split; lower or higher feature set. But it's true that it looks more probable that it's for the iMac.

lol, why is anyone refering to this guys, obviously a troll, or someone that doesnt want their imac to seem old. ignore this guy... hes just trolling now. apple tv ?? hahahahahha i just loled

I really dont think Apple will be releasing a TV anytime soon. I hope 9to5mac can "confirm" the iMac like they did with Mac Mini.
