As of right now, the iMac being EOLed is still just as possible as a refresh. If you have proof otherwise, provide it. If not, be silent.

----------

It looked just as obvious in June. How'd that turn out?

Lets bet 100 bucks then if you're so sure ? Think about it it'd be 100 bucks you'll win

To be honest I'm just hoping that 9to5mac will post some more of the info that they know about the iMacs. Should see some more tomorrow.

There were leaked part numbers in June, reported again by 9to5mac.com and it turned out to be the new retina Macbook Pros and the "new" Mac Pro which were released at WWDC.

Same thing is happening now as well.

Anybody else in the UK notice that there are suddenly (as of the past few hours) NO items in the refurb store?? Never noticed that happening before and there were quite a few things in there earlier that had been there for at least a few days.

Indeed. New rMBPs. I'm sure you're right

Little: see under litotes

"we have a little more to show you."

"little"

How does that tie in to imacs? It's been said that the leaked photos last week were photos of the MBP 13" motherboard, not the imac.

Sorry folks, there is no new imac next week.

“Litotes is a form of understatement, always deliberate and with the intention of emphasis“—Wiki. Keep in mind that the Apple event was deliberately scheduled in the teeth of the coming Microsoft event. This context strongly suggests “little” to be an ironic understatement, meaning something like, “look out. Here comes everything but the kitchen sink.” I would be very surprised if the iMac isn’t included.

That is pretty much how I interpreted it. An event days before Windows 8 with new computers to hit the market right when Windows 8 machines debut. Also I chuckled at the word "little" because I bet they will be unveiling a number of products. So far, as we all know (hope) by now:

iPad Mini
13" MacBook Pro with Retina
iMac
Mac Mini

Lets hope it all unfolds nicely and everyone is happy! Otherwise the wait continues!!!!!!!!!!

... and standard configs (new) have slipped to 1-3 days, and BTO's to 7-10 days on the online store ;-)

Yep. And I think "little" has a double meaning in this case for apple...

1. ipad mini, 13inch rmbp and mac mini all cover the standard meaning of little.

2. As Tucson Allen states above, it's also a form of understatement. They are going to show a whole slew of stuff... Including the iMac!

To all those EOLers... you flopped it out and waved it in our faces, but now you gotta put it away in defeat because we've flopped ours out and they are massive! 21 and 27 inches massive! Huzzah!

And what are we all gonna do after next week? I think I'll retire to a quiet part of the forum because just like Danny Glover, I'm getting too old for this *****.

Mike Firstthreelettersofgirlfriendmike?

My handle is a Les Miserables reference. Nice job exposing your illiteracy for all to see.

If I had any notion that I could collect from you, I would bet you edryhilario's Benjamin that there would be no iMac refresh on Tuesday. We still have nothing solid to go on that there might be one. The part numbers mean squat; we got that much in June. To Icaras you listen.

I hope there's a refresh. But until further actual proof arises, EOL is just as possible.

I was bleeped on a four-letter acronym for Shut The Front Undertone.

I appreciate the tone Mike.

The part numbers did mean squat. They revealed the new retina Macbook Pros and Mac Pros in June. Did you miss that part?

And again, where is the proof for your claims? Doesn't "be silent" apply to you? You've maneuvered yourself in a corner long ago and are now doing what every good troll does, deny it happened and ignore everything : )

And how does Valmike imply that you're referring to Valjean and not Vicomte de Valmont, for example ; ) I went by your other statements and decided to go with what I wrote, dear Mike.

Yea, I was trying to elude that to Nandifix.

There have always been 4 SKUs for the iMac so it seems like that's the dead giveaway that the part numbers are exclusively about the iMac.

I thought I had helped somebody on here for a change : ( Seriously though, didn't realize you were directing that at somebody

Well, if it's been said by your mailman it has to be so. Sucks.

Any thoughts on the removal of the original thread post on that Chinese forum that had leaked the leaked iMac photo?

Perhaps someone reached out to the webmaster and demanded it be removed because it could be potentially true? I know it might be hard to believe but I am being a bit optimistic here lol (as usual)

No worries ;) The tone of my post was unclear to begin with. Any lurkers out there who didn't know will understand it better with your reply. :)

I can't wait to stop looking for rumors about a computer I've been wanting for months now! I'll be relieved… But now I'll have to fill that time searching for rumors with something else now haha… Maybe some schoolwork! :p

New iMacs will be in your faces next week.

Did I not say that there will be a new iMac this month ! and did i not say that it will be released in the 23-25th of October I was 92% sure it would be and it has !

Yeah yeah my title says im a macrumours newbie but damn I know alot more about Apples history and products than alot of people on here !

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. :)

It seems what gets this thread going now is the fact that some people never gets convinced until they actually hold the device in their hand.
Luckily for me I´m not sceptic anymore. I can relax now. And let me explain why:
After 9to5 Mac released the SKU´s I was convinced. We can be 100% sure the SKU´s are an actual product coming from Apple. The only thing that is difficult is to see which product it is, though educated guesses aren´t that hard.
Before WWDC, 9to5 mac interpret them correct on everything, except the iMac. In fact they even made an article about how there were two outcomes, either iMac or Macbook Air. ...and it was Macbook Air.
But, the reason for this is that they see a serie of 4 belonging products, and Apple has a couple of those. Right now though, there´s NO other product line that Apple has which includes 4 products in a serie of 2 by 2 (21.5" &27"). So, it´s not brain surgery to assume this serie of 4 SKU´s belongs to the iMac.

Believe what you want but this is enough to make me confident for a week. :)

The trouble that I have is that I saw a total of 24 SKUs, and in that regard, it does not seem to make sense that the IMACs would have that many SKUs or alternatively that the IMAC SKUs would be so similar to the other products. Does Apple create the same SKUs based on release date or product?
