imagine if the update is just a spec bump after all lol... Oh dear Apple you better have something good up your sleeves for this 500+ day update for your own sake![]()
Thing is one of reseller my brother in law worked there and he told me when this happened it is 99.99% update or refresh coming and that’s why resellers are not allowed to take old stock...He also told me that in October is month for this and that spec bump will be silent...
Okay, I'm on board!!! There was also another poster a few pages back who reckons October 12th to be the date. That's a Friday... I'm believing this too!
WHY?
When the 2008 spring Imacs were released a bloke wrote about 1month prior about his friend working as a reseller or some such thing and he got the exact release date SPOT ON! It was Friday April 29th 2008. At the time everybody had a go at him for suggesting a Friday. BUT it happened exactly as he said.
I am now prepared for a new iMac on Friday October 12th!!!!
Haha. Oh dear I'm in trouble if it doesn't happen!
April 29th 2008 fell on a Tuesday.....
I reckon Apple will update the iMac and Minis on Tuesday 23rd October to try and upstage the Windows 8 release later that week.

I'm lovin' it!In the meantime, here's some wishful thinking:
You're right. I got my dates wrong. it was april 28th a MONDAY. Still the same thing. It wasn't a Tuesday. That's what I was trying to say through my poor memory!
It was april 29th for me here in Japan though.
EDIT: I fixed my orginal post to show the correct dates.
Been monitoring this thread/forum for a while now. Thought I'd join up to add something to the mix...
I just spoke to our corporate Mac supplier here in Australia who was very upfront in saying that it is becoming increasingly difficult to get a hold of 27" models. BTO options have also been slipping back from 1-3 days to upwards of 10-15. The 21.5" are still relatively easy to find, however resellers aren't holding a lot of stock because they are predicting an imminent release and don't want to get burnt. He went on to suggest that production of the current iMac was ceased as early as June this year, but was recommenced after manufacturing issues arose (the screen perhaps, as recent rumours suggest).
Basically, it's a combination of production issues on Apple's end, and an expectation by resellers that a new model is coming that has got us in to this availability mess.
I'm not claiming any of this to be revelatory, however it does give credence to the theory that we will see a new iMac within the next few weeks.
In the meantime, here's some wishful thinking:

I saw Cook's apologies about Ios6 Maps, maybe this fail will make Imac 2012 delay even longer.
imagine if the update is just a spec bump after all lol...
Just a provocation.
"Translation"---->: Maybe Cook will push all Apple's energy to improve maps while in the meantine delays the Imacs release because scared to give out after over 500 days a simple spec bump.
Advice: don't take it too serious.

Spoon boy: Do not try to get an iMac. That's impossible. Instead ... only try to realize the truth.
Neo: What truth ?
Spoon boy: There is no iMac 2012.
Neo: There is no iMac 2012 ?
Spoon boy: Then you'll see, that it is not the Apple's fault, it is only yourself ...
