I don't tink Apple can hold for longher a new iMac or a upgrade iMac, simply because Intel is no longer making the old cipset and CPU so they are forced to do it
:D

Well maybe they aren't buy I'm sure a big client like apple can make them make the old chipset if they decide to be stubborn. Would have been a bit funny :D everyone else are making new computers but apple just don't want to comply.

What can i say..i suppose we are in a transition between the
Steve Jobs! ( and shined over his mistakes ) to this "I've Cook for Stall"
( shy for our m-Ios-takes ..but ),i'm just wondering which are the "4 years of
treasures and inventions " Jobs left and if Apple's board will ever show.
I doubt it with this "lazyness"(nothing wrong but not magic just a good money mechanism )
and while i understand the reason why they're not
speaking about "future products " or letting leaks out(except the Iphone 5 )
i would suggest them to make clear the plans for the long delayed ones
even because if their plans is to kill the desktop line its a little bit weird
to ask 2299€ for the Classic 2012 MacBookPro with the 650m/1GB
while the old 2011 Imac (i5,6970 1GB) remains lower at 1915€ instead.

I know you are not english, but maybe we should pull the grammar discussion back into this thread, I only understood 50% of this. Maybe it would help if english was my first language :/

Maybe i can try writing directly in italian making you able translate with google tools.

So its not your language as well,i mean perhaps not all is due to me ^0^)
OK ,lets see if i can rephrase.
1.Don't like Cook's decision,
2.Don't understand more specifically why axings desktop overpricing
( compared to the old 2011 Imac price )the Mac Book Pro laptops (the classic),
3.They are not obliged to tell us whats going on but it would help a little to make this wait less hard.
4.Doing that ,looking not to so focused on Ios money ,listening a bit more, talking with their Pro base
will make them gain back my ( for what it worths)trust .
5.m-Ios-takes its a word trick..a mix between moisture,mist-akes..I-os,ake ( ache..)
such as I'(ha)ve Cook for(a)stall-->I've Cook for stall.
6.I need at leAst more rumours or a braver rumour site, all talk about Iphones,
i'm sick'd of it,i miss ThinkSecrets.
I hope now its easier to understand, my Bristol relatives do.

Seriously, I'm itching for the release of 13 in rMBP and I wanna see new iMacs asap!

What do you mean 0 rumors... I've read at least a half dozen different rumors of a refresh of iMacs

I think he was referring to parts numbers, photos or physical parts etc... just like we see with the iphone and ipad.

But, I'm with you. We've had rumours!!! Now let's just hope the rumours are true! There's also lots of anecdotal evidence around the threads from interactions with apple employees through to resellers to point to a release in the very near future.

Personally, if Apple doesn't release even a spec bump this year I'll be blown away. All I want is...

1. better CPU
2. better GPU
3. USB 3
4. More preinstalled Ram
5. built in SSD as standard (although I will get that as an option if they don't)

I'm sure it'll have a few other things as well, but I'll look at those as a bonus.
And I want it for the same price (or less) they sell the 2011s for. IS that too much to ask after 18 months???

Probably, maybe? Usually leaked specs/models number show up few hours before release. Photos of packaging were kInda common in the past.

true but the last imac releases we havent really gotten those so who know but at the same time i dont think so.

SSD as standard is very unlikely to happen in my opinion, just because I suppose that everyone will do like you (and I would too) and get it as an option, i.e. Apple will gain more money !

SSD prices have dropped to a point where it's no longer out of reach for the consumer. A 256GB Samsung 830 drive costs $190 on Amazon. Apple can probably get them for half that price. That will drive up the component cost (compared to HDD) for... $40?

Then they can charge you to install HDD as an option.

your up for next week.. you still think itd be the 9th? i now think itd be 16th or the 23th

Put me down for the 12th of Oct. Yeah, it's a Friday...

I hope it's the 9th though> i'm off for a short vacation this weekend and get back on the 9th Japan time so that would be great to come back to new iMacs.

I agree. Why can't at least one of them be a bit 'different' and work harder to get intels on the Macs? The iPhone is a no brainer and everyone else already does it! It's like making another 'Funny Pics' page on Facebook. What's the point!? -.-

I still hold the belief that the iMacs will be a silent refresh separate from the iPad Mini event. So if you don't see any invitations in the next day or two, Oct 9 is looking good for me.

The argument that an iPad Mini exclusive event would be quite short does have some merit, though, so if they do a big bang event on the 16th or 23rd I wouldn't be completely shocked.

I still like Gruber's theory of an education based keynote that would cover iPad Mini, MBP 13" Retina and iMac with maybe some form of updates or new releases around educational topics.

Would we have heard anything rumour-wise if there was going to be a big event on the 9th? I think so by now. So, if it's a big event, I reckon it will be 16th.

So, I agree, perhaps a quiet or low key launch on 9th or a bigger event on 16th. It won't be 23rd.

it seems weird to me that they would do an entire event for an ipad that is lower resulution smaller, and slower. i mean what else is there to say about it? so a 45 min event for a device that takes 10 mins to get fully introduced? im not buying it.

If we haven't heard by about noon tomorrow, there's no event on the 9th. I don't think there will be.

I don't see anything educational about the 13" rMBP. Unless it competes in price with the 11" MBA, which is pretty unlikely. It's also an odd time for an education event.. right AFTER the back-to-school rush. So while I can see the possibility of the big bang event, I can't see it being education-themed.

If they're putting out a revised 10" iPad at the same time (so they can standardize on Lightning, address the heat & thickness concerns, and put the iPad on a holiday schedule rather than a March schedule), they could fill a full event just talking about iPads. In the absence of that, I agree that an event talking just about the iPad Mini would be pretty sparse.
