2012 iMac - next big date?

I went to one a few days ago at the rambla near Catalunya, first Apple store I ever see, and I have to say its an impressive feat. Shame they didn't have new iMacs

It's a fake. You can tell by the shadow of the angles being in the wrong morse code. Also it's not the dev version of OSX. Also it is Brown. Apple hasnt made any Brown products as far back in time I could be bothered looking up (5 hours)

<sarcasm>With the riveting and detailed reports like "Yep" it is easy to see why Dalrymple is so widely respected in the rumors community.</sarcasm>

He's respected because he doesn't make up rumors. And his connections inside Apple wouldn't trust him if he did. If a rumor is out there, occasionally he'll confirm it. And he's right every time. This way he keeps our trust, and he keeps His buddies at Apples trust.
I do understand he is respected, however I was poking fun at the single word responses that guy gives. No one can ever accuse him of being overly verbose. That is for certain. LOL!
The dispatch time frame for a BTO imac has changed since yesterday

Am I the only one that's going to get a sense of victory when the new iMac takes pride of place on the home page? Or at least on the mac page. I remember back in the day when the iMac hadn't been update for 200 days, seemed worthwhile waiting because, hey, there's only like another 80 days until and update haha. I'm hoping they redesign the magic mouse as it feels like it would get uncomfortable when I've tried them in store, but I'm also in two minds about a track pad. Has anybody here lived with one, the other or both so can make a recommendation?

For my hand, it's perfect size and shape, and the battery life is great (plus I can keep using it while it's charging back up every couple weeks). Before that was the Revolution for many years. I had one mess up after 2 years and Logitech replaced it free without question. I also have the trackpad and don't use it that often, but it's great for some things, mostly the gestures.
There has never been an Apple mouse that I've been able to use. They're either too small or odd shapes.
Talk to him about beards and you'll be surprised.
On a more serious note, how many of you would be waiting an extra month for the Black Friday discounts if it indeed gets released shortly?

I just had to replace my 24" 2008 model's hard drive last month... hope yours doesn't give up before the new one's make it here.
Considering Apple is one of the few companies not seeing their PC sales suffer a catastrophic slump*, they have no reason whatsoever to EoL the Macintosh computer. I just do not see Apple abandoning a high-margin growth market.
* - They were down on raw shipments compared to the same quarter last year, but their overall share of the market grew even with "old" product.

20th October delivery date now for highend 27" IMacs. This is awesome
yep, every other time I've checked it just said something like "ships in 3-5 days" but now I can either choose october 20 shipping or pick up in store...

I'd be tempted to wait until Black Friday, but when
p) they are released I could see myself putting the cash straight down for one as the urge to own one will be overwhelming.That said, I have survived on a netbook for 3 and half years so another month wouldn't kill me.
nah, i'd purchase right away. i'll be going the apple finance route so waiting for a third-party sale would be pointless.

She's not referring to a third party sale. Apple stores discount their products one day a year: black friday. It's not much, probably just $100 for the iMac. It's a good question. After waiting a year and half, would you be able to wait one more month to save $100? I hadn't even thought about it because I've just been in the mindset that I am going to order it the second it's released. I don't know. It will be a tough decision. Alas, It will be self imposed torture, but I will probably force myself to wait. (of course this is all assuming a new iMac is actually released before black friday.)
