Cannot see this happening.

Apple likes their large margins.

Adding more internals or reducing price reduces margins.

Many would buy apple anyway because of software/preference/(yes i will mention it -- becuase its apple).

Therefore apple will not lower their margins or will not put that much in their computers.

If what the OP posted is true, a macbook pro would likely win any spec war.
But apple doesn't need to win a spec war so the prices would simply be higher.

honestly, I would prefer an A6 with 20 hour battery life to anything Intel has, dynamic switching between the on-cpu PowerVR GPU and the 7690 or 7770 RADEON.

Not sure if you're joking.

The A6 hasn't even been announced but if it is double the power of the A5, it will still be 1/5th what a current Sandy Bridge is. Also, OSX and current apps won't work on an ARM CPU.

Siri integration?

Do you think the 2012 MBA might ship with some sort of Siri integration connected to your iCloud account?

I don't see any SSD+HDD combo occurring. Apple seems content with offering SSDs as an option and the pro models won't lose their optical drives yet. Cannibalization of the Airs (or vice versa) could occur.

As others have said, it's offered already in the mini and iMac already. Watch the Pro go solo; ODDs are heading for the scrapheap sooner than you think.

Anyone who 'needs' an ODD will be forced into an external, like it or not.

There is no dual blade, the brackelett you use only, if you want to use it in a desktop. But the SSD is a 2.5 one and its the same form factor as the vertex 3 ...

I don't know what will be in the next MBP, but how can you know that there will be a place for a 2.5'' HDD/SSD?

If they redesign it, two slots for micro SSDs would be a good way to save space and still provide a decent amount of storage without the price tag exploding. But that's just one of many possibilities.

I think a more realistic scenario is one onboard or blade SSD coupled with a 2.5" slot to provide additional storage. The onboard SSD might be used to cache system information, or to provide instant wake functionality.

Other than that, not much I can see in the way of Apple fitting two SSDs inside this thing. And I sincerely doubt they'd use SSDs at all if the rumored Retina Displays are true.

None of the programs on OS X today will run on an ARM based processor.

Yes,you are right, but i hardly doubt they will go with micro ssd, because of many circumstances. For example speed or ammount of memmory.I do believe it will be a little thinner, but not as a macbook air.I do think we will be still able to see a difference on the form factor...

Is always fun to read this threads, but when the time comes to place my bets, I only trust Hellhammer.

I wish he was wrong about the redesign though.
