I'm not sure if there is any difference between a US and UK keyboard on a Mac. the usual difference on a PC is that the ' " ' and ' @ ' are reversed but on a Mac they're US-style in the UK (' @' is Shift-2).

Are there any other differences?

I assume that's the US keyboard, there's a few differences to mine. (£ sign obviously, and some others) The US keyboard seems to have a very different enter key which is weird, are all computers like that in the US?

Edit: found a comparison image:

I think is is a very good article exploring all the possibilities on product upgrade/redesign for 2012 and once more showing some concern by the lack of rumors.

I still put my bet on September and the fact is that Tim Cook made very clear that Apple didn't had any plans to cut the MBA line (in a question of MBA vs iPad) and that is why I do agree we will see a spec bump with no retina display yet on MBA.

And what about MBP....? Nobody can tell or even guess based on any type of fresh information.

I work in education. I asked for a proposal of 50 MacBook Pros. I received the quote and my sales rep said if I placed the order by 6/6/12 I would receive significant discounts.

Hmmmm....... :)

Hint hint

I just checked out the MacRumors' archives for the past two MacBook Pro refreshes. Rumors of imminent release of the early 2011 MacBook Pros began six days before the actual release. There were rumors of an upcoming release four days before the late 2011 processor bump. Once we see something like new product numbers, extreme supply constraints, or news of sealed shipments to Apple Stores it'll be less than a week until the release (likely).

I really admire those waiting patiently. I couldn't take it anymore and just got a 13 inch 2,8 i7 refurb:)
But still looking forward to see how those new MBPs look like:)

Again, my bets are on WWDC for all of this, unless we see something beforehand, like a silent refresh during May. I will be worried though if there is no new MacBook Pro update after WWDC. That will mean Apple is waiting until October for "Back to Mac" event, type of thing.

It will definitely happen this summer, i'm willing to go out on a limb to say that. Looking back at Apple's previous release cycle for the MBP, they usually refresh the product line as soon as both the next gen GPU and CPU is available. Currently, regardless of who Apple chooses, both Nvidia and AMD have launched their newest generation of mobile GPU's.

So now we are just waiting on the dual core Ivy Bridge processors for the 13" model coming in early June. If there is any truth in the newer MBP's receiving retina resolution then i'm also placing my bet on WWDC. Redisign or not, it would be something too massive not to have a 'song and dance' about.

Retina... probably not quite yet. Here's hoping for May refresh, maybe today? Next week?

If there's a redesign involved this time around, I believe Apple plans for it to be released only on June 11th and not before.

So he is already offering significant discounts or you will get significant discounts if you place the order on or after 6/6/12?

He said placed order by... That means before.

I see that he wrote that but would think that there would be more buzz about Apple offering "significant discounts" for orders placed now. And why would the sales rep give him until 6/6/12 to place the order to get that discount? You would think that "significant discounts" would come for the current model after the new model is announced... not before.

But Apple replaces their older products with their new ones .. So, right now they may want to get rid of their stock of current models to get ready for the new ones which will be out some time this Summer ...

.. I think :p

That makes sense and I hope you are right!

I wonder what the 6/6/12 date is all about. That is a week before the WWDC but I guess they could do an update right before WWDC...

I hope so too because I'm in the waiting game as well :p

I'm not so patiently waiting. I'm set to buy 2 15" MBPs. One for me, one for my cousin. C'mon MBP.

Well, still waiting. I am about to throw my mid-2008 out the window. Hard drive is clicking, battery not that great, I need a new MBP.

Come'on Apple!

Or a new hard drive. Hard drive replacement is easy and affordable. No reason to live with a dead hard drive when that can be easily addressed. Hard drives are usually the first thing to go in computers anyway.

I'd rather buy a new MBP, transfer the crap off my old one, replace the HDD and sell it.

I'd transfer it off now if your drive is clicking... the drive can die at any moment at this point and you may not be able to transfer it off later. Don't wait... back up your stuff while you are still able.

Rubbish. Tests show Ivy bridge runs cooler and is more power efficient. Also, by removing the ODD, Apple has more room for a better (more effective?) cooling system.

Ivy bridge does not run cooler, even Intel is saying it. Would love to see those tests that you talk about...
