How is it that iPhone 5 parts are showing up all over the place but no MBP parts?

The phone release is months away and the MBP release is weeks away. It's obvious Apple has a tighter grip on the assembly process of the MBP's. If all these parts being shown are really from the IP5 Tim Cook must be heated.

It might also be easier to take a quick snapshot of a small phone than a laptop that is 10x bigger than an iPhone.

Evereytime I see a iPhone rumour WITH PICTURES and only hearsay MBP rumours w/o any actual evidence/pictures I get sad.

The mobile ivy bridge processors aren't due to be released until June 3rd. And then you got x amount of days before you'll see these available to buy. Probably a couple weeks.

I know for HP ivy bridge laptops they don't ship until June 15th.

I would imagine apple will announce the MBA and MBP on the same day.

I know what you mean tho I wanna get my hands on one too.

yes but now there is virtually no reason for apple not to release the new line of macs

The Apple store is down again.

What's this the third time this week? The New MBP will be my first Mac since the Mac Classic II I had as a kid. I am not even going to be able to buy one til August but I am still anxiously awaiting the release so I can obsess over it for the next two months and drive my wife crazy by stopping in every Apple Store we are anywhere near to play around with them.

Honestly, how many times must we go through this. Apple has in the past had deals with intel and gotten their processors early, even before anyone else has them. Who's to say this is a different case?

I heard something interesting today. Maybe those of you who have been with Apple for years can shed some light on this.

I heard a guy whose primary computer is a Mac and has been for the past few years but he told me that he won't be updating to the new Macbook Pro because it wasn't overseered by Steve Jobs.

I've never owned a MBP and this will be my first, but does that make any sense or have any credibility? Did Steve Jobs really have that much power and influence over the MBP? And now that he's gone, it'll turn into a piece of ****?

Your friend is misguided. Jobs was about vision for the whole company. He wasn't an engineer.

I googled it and it said "intel mobile processors and desktop processors to be released on june 3rd"

Thanks for reading.

Yes, it's true, I bought a bunch of put options on apple stock, will wait until the stock hits zero (when apple goes bankrupt) to exercise them, I'm gonna be set for life.

Agreed. Jobs was more like the chief visionary. He set the direction, and the rest then carried it out. If it was a normal refresh- I don't think anything would be different.

However, with the rumors of a redesign, it verges on the brink of being a new concept - a thin, powerful 15" professional laptop - and goes to say there might be new features that aren't as "evolutionary" as a simple tech bump.

I always think of Jobs and Apple similar to "working towards the fuhrer". Jobs had the overall vision and his colleagues worked towards it, rather than jobs being involved hands on with everything.

So more "working towards the jobs" :p

Is there any chance that we will see an HD cam on the new pros?

Camera on MBP already is HD, isn't it?

It really is a bit dumb since every MB have had mic.

http://www.engadget.com/2012/06/01/sharp-igzo-oled-lcd-sid-2012/ New information on the IGZO displays likely to be used in the new MBP's, if there is Retina displays as rumored.

They mention a 13.5-inch 3840x2160 QFHD display!!!
That would be a pixel density of 335ppi x 302ppi. Quite Retina on any viewing distance.

Though one minor complain. This display has 16:9 aspect ratio; good for movies, bad for text writing. I really liked the fact that Apple didn't jump on 16:9 like nearly all other PC manufacturer.

So now we should only be 11 days away from launch. Does anybody know how the actual shipping/change to new Pro's actually works.

Ideally I want to pick it up asap as my current laptop broke on my two days ago. If we assume the Pro is being announced during the keynote speech which is from 6pm-7.30pm UK time. Will I be able to drive to my local Apple Store (which is open until 10.30pm here so) and pick it up as soon as it had been announced at WWDC, or will it not be available in the retail store until the next day when they get a shipment or will they have them in the back ready to sell as soon as it is announced?

Equally, online what are the shipping times usually like for the non BTO models, the standard 24 hours or like 1 week?

QFHD? Quite Fecking High Definition? :p

+1 - I don't like 16:9 for monitors either - for the same reason.

Although the 6.1" the mentioned is 16:10 - 2560x1600

in 2008 they were available on stores the next day, so I'd hope they would be the same, it also means we get them before America. :p

Though it is entirely possible they won't be available for a week or more, in 2008 they announced them at a special advent that they could plan around the MacBook pros availability, whereas wwdc has had a date planned for a long time, so they might not be ready yet, if that makes sense.
