I just want :

1200 or better native
Ivy bridge
Decent dGPU

could careless if it looks the same or not

My dell is on it's last legs.. I have to use it in safemode or it crashes 3-4 times a day... let go apple.

No need to apologize :p. Which ones are you referring too? The new non-Pro 15" in comparison to the Pro? So you think Apple will do that, have equal pricing and expect Apple to have anyone buy a thicker, slower and non-retina Pro? No cigar.

I was thinking the Pros might come with a better processor and and more RAM along with the ethernet and optical drive. The Pro name and the price would make more sense. Not pretty, but beefy. But it is a bit of a mystery.

I'm hoping slightly better GPU due to the thicker chassis. Slight overclocked processor would also be welcome. I really don't see people buying the thicker non-retina Pro unless Apple has something for it to have its merit. RAM and HD/SSD can be easily upgraded. If the non-Pros will have the unfortunate BS of having soldered RAM, it will make geeks and tweekers happy to go Pro (at least for the last time) but I don't think that equals to anything significant in market figures.

It's actually today, in Melbourne Australia anyway. 12.04am.

Ditto I hate being in Australia because we have to extend another day of wait curse this time gap. I only hope that Tim cook and his crew wows us on the day with the listed rumors macrumors have cited.

FYI If these rumors live to be true I will be up for a iPhone and 15 inchMacBook pro no new iMac for me this year :p. I also hope they don't name these products silly names like the new iPhone. Now back to the countdown and happy new years :p

I don't think they are going to get rid of the Thunderbolt video out jack. So really any monitor will work with the conversion adapter.

I'll definitely be buying a new 15.5" MBP after the unveil at WWDC. Really hoping for thinner, lighter, and retina display. :D

I think that the only remnants of the current Macbook Pro form factor will be the 17", and possibly a 13" for education (only because of the leaked spec sticker).

The third "Macbook" line information all seems to come from a single analyst.

I own and operate a marketing firm and know quite a few people with the Apple supply chain. And they are telling me the same thing. They also don't know for sure either, but what the analysts are saying matches with the part numbers they are seeing.

With the leaked stickers on the 13 and new 15 laptop the above makes sense. The person who leaked the product stickers is the same exact person who leaked last years refresh. And that was spot on. As well as the same analysts predictions were also spot on last year. Know one knows for sure except Apple, but we will see tomorrow.

So your thought is what? Redesign with the name MacBook. 15 in only? What's the scoop here

Read that all off the front page yourself did ya?!

Actually I called this last year. But I got the rest from you, don't you remember? I also called it way before it was on the front page. But it was confirmed by that PM you sent me since you told me you work at Apple and you said you were the person who leaked the product stickers.

Thanks for that by the way! We all owe you a great dept here at MacRumors. I would like to thank you from all of us here on this fantastic forum for a job well done! ;)

You're the best.

Sorry I wish I could say more but that is all I have. They only have the product codes and price's that match the part numbers. One guy I talked too who is a friend of mine said that he thinks there is more than one form factor 15. But he is only a marketing exec for one of their suppliers. He doesn't have the low down on any new products only part numbers. Apple keeps it close to the chest on new products, even Samsung doesn't know what they are planning or have. And they make the majority of their chips, screens.

He said there isn't any slowdown on the original parts for the current MacBook Pro die casts( meaning uni-body alum. case) but he saw different part numbers for the same die casts(CPU,memory etc). That is all he can see since he works for the supplier who makes the uni-body case for the current Macbook Pro and new line whatever that may be called.

More logical will be adding 15 inch, Retina display Macbook Air. And adding only spec bump for Macbook Pro. The sticker of that 15 inch laptop was fake cause there was a strange Proc with 4 cores 2.6 Ghz and 8 MB cache, which Intel doesn't offer.

The guy from chineese forum said that either. In other words. Only change will be that there will be added 15 inch Air, with spec bump for that line. And spec bump for the whole line of MBP with NO redesign.

That is also possible and also matches up with what the supply chain and analysts are saying.

There is only one new part number for a thin 15 laptop. Weather it is called a MacBook Pro, Macbook Air or just plain Macbook we don't know. My guess is that is a whole new line or the start of a new line, or it may be just a new Air. The current MBP it looks like is going to go on it it's current form. Weather it is still called a MBP again only Apple knows.

But either way my guess you will see only one new 'design' of 15 thin laptop tomorrow, regardless of what it is called.

I'm fine with that since I will be ordering a 15 anyway. Just hope it can hold discrete graphics and has some good bto options.

And ur thought on retina for both air and pro lines? Or just one line or just one size?

Judging by the part numbers, just the new size. But that doesn't mean the new Airs and MBP or both cannot have it as a upgrade. It might be available to all but will be standard on the new model. He apparently cannot see upgrades part numbers as they come from a different factory.

Pics or it didn't happen, chum.

I imagine they won't be forthcoming.

One more thing. That 15 inch laptop that costs 3k Australlian dollars is code named MC975X/A. Macbook Pro line is MD3XXX/A. Apple never went back on code numbers for any line. More: Macbook Air code is MC965X/A.
Coincidence?

Bezel

Can anyone tell me if the bezel around the screen serves any purpose other than design,

It would be nice to have an edge to edge display, at a guess cant find my tape measure)
a 13" MBP/Air could probably squeeze in another inch or so... that would be nice...

that said.... Descreet GPU, Liquid metal :) and slimmer lighter profile, without compromising heat dissapation. and incorporate LEAP MOTION into it, put some cameras around the edges... :D i want to design flyers using my fingers.....
