If you still want F5 instead of cmd+r:
1. System Preferences
2. Keyboard
3. Application shortcuts in the left hand column.
4. click the plus icon
5. select Safari from the 'all applications' drop down list.
6. Type 'Reload Page' in the 'menu title'.
7. Then press the F5 key in the 'keyboard' shortcut box.
no need to restart safari or anything, it changed straight away for me.

I'm sorry didn't realise it was mandatory to know all the keyboard short cuts.
I've never really thought about it that much, I've just used my mac.
That video will probably be a guy or two commenting on the live updates as they come out. Engadget will have a live stream similar to that right outside the building, but they say Apple won't allow live video streaming from within.

Because the shortcut is hardly well documented in Safari. I've never had to use refresh to such an extent that clicking the refresh icon near the URL bar would be annoying.
The only I found it was by actually going into the top menu bar.

Yes finally and hopefully Tim Cooks first WWDC will bring a new iPhone and slimmer MacBook over the next 8 hours.
