What else are we supposed to do?

Personally, I think he's a dick, and the fact that he's married to Tom Brady's sister is beyond annoying ;) - but once he puts on the pinstripes I'm certainly not going to root against him. It's one of the sucky things about being a loyal fan. :(

I have a feeling this season is going to get worse before it gets better, but as bad as things may seem we're going to get the injured guys back eventually and then we'll have a much better idea about how good (or bad) they really are. I have no illusions of a championship this year - I just want to watch competitive, fun baseball.

No, I know. I'd be really disappointed in you guys if you didn't root for him. But you can see how this is amusing for us. :D

And yes, once you get your run producers back, the good ship Yankeepop will be annoyingly better. Just having a little fun with you guys, since there ARE SO MANY OF YOU.

Meanwhile, poor Jackie Bradley Jr. Red Sox fans' lonely eyes have turned to you. Can't wait until Ortizzle gets back, though.

I have tickets to the Yanks last 3 regular season games in Houston. And he's going to pitch if I have to drag him from the bullpen myself!!:D

If we can't beat a Double A team, then we truly suck. :p

We're not petty fans unlike you guys( booing Damon, etc). ;)

The Yankees trip to Fenway in July will be interesting.....

Now, now, hold up - Damon was not a Red Sox at the time, he was a traitorous defector. We've cheered all your crappy cast offs when they donned red socks - Mendoza and Wells come to mind as my most begrudging cheers.

I am positive if Cano signed with the Red Sox he would get absolutely booed out of Yankee Stadium, so don't try the holier than thou crap. ;)

I don't think he would be allowed into the stadium.

Depends if he pulled a Pujols/Hamilton. But, I would expect him to do a Matsui. Leaves, but appreciates his time as a Yankee. ;)

BTW I loved the Ranger fans response when Hamilton came up to bat. Everyone reading newspapers. :D

Also, the Johnny Damon defection really, really bothered me. I know as well as anyone else that baseball is a business, and loyalty goes are far as the next paycheck, but still that one stung. We adored him and it seemed like he adored us right back. Then had no problem singing with the Yankees with the same smile. Yuck. Sometimes, with some players, you forget reality for a minute. :(

That said, there are few former Red Sox (who helped us win a championship, even) that I would boo.

As an aside, does it drive anyone else NUTS when people buy home jerseys with the name stitched on the back when it wouldn't be authentically? Like Red Sox and Yankees home jerseys. God I hate it.

That's pretty accurate from what I have heard.

When a player, any player, comes from a rival team but then dons your uniform, the guy is working very hard for you and getting paid a lot of money so somebody thinks it's worth it. For some time, it was a little weird having Dusty Baker, yeah that Dodger blue idol and spoiler of the Giants, become the manager of the San Francisco Giants. But more than anybody, he brought a certain talent, work ethic, and renewed pride to our team which had not been there for many years. The momentum of the Baker years and the new fans that came into the Giants' fold pretty much was the fuel that we needed to support a team to two successful World Series runs.

I have been around too long to hate all Dodgers because the way things are in baseball, we could lose Lincecum and Posey one day and end up with Kershaw and Ryu.

washington nationals fans here?

Washington Nationals fans here?

Where do you watch the game?
Is MLB TV only way to watch the game?
No local broadcasting? :confused::confused::confused:

Lackey just got hurt yet again 4 innings into his "comeback"

what a mistake that was. thanks theo.

And Gardner shows why he should be the center fielder, not Granderson.

We should have traded Joba when we had the chance....

hindsight.....

They should not have ruined him as a pitcher when they had the chance. The same with Hughes.

Difference is Hughes is showing signs of being a good 3-4 starter. First half of 2010 and second half of 2012 were good. Todays start by Hughes wasn't bad, but you could tell he still needed that one tune up game he was scheduled to pitch today if our pitching wasn't depleted.... He kept us in the game until the 5th.

Besides 2008, Joba has always struggled with starting. They shouldn't have even tried for him to be a starter. At least we have Robertson to succeed Mo. We would be screwed if we tried Joba to be the closer heir again.... He showed promise in 2007.

The Rockies have gotten off to a nice start 5-1 through the first week of the season. I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised.

Speaking of bats coming alive...Sox beat Toronto 13 - 0...with 5 home runs.

Too bad about the Yankees line up.

;) :D

RA Dickey is having a rude welcome to the AL thus far....

And one good thing about our lineup? It can't get much worse...Eventually Grandy and Tex will be back and Cano will have some much needed protection. That said...Jayson Nix schooling Verlander was awesome.

Unfortunately, from my perspective, you can never count the Yankees out. No question they'll be in running as the season goes along.

They always are...big pain in the ass!!:(

:D

Absolutely, YES.

It's not a real jersey if there is a name on the back - whether it says Ruth, Gehrig, or your own name. It bugs the crap out of me when I see them.

And for the Yanks, both home and away have no names, of course (for those who remember Michael Kay doing radio). The coolest part? All of my Tino Martinez jersey have been reborn into Cano jerseys!

Anyone want to take Joba off our hands? We'll take a box of cracker jacks in return.
