Cowboys have a ton of fans outside of Texas, even here in my parts in norcal. No doubt they are America's team in that sense. Wow, who knew and I would think New Mexico would be more into the Cardinals. And Cowboys fans in Nevada, Utah, Washington, Kansas, and Idaho?

But look at socal, and Raiders fans and I think a more accurate representation would show a lot of east Bay Area people into Oakland. The Raiders are an institution in the east bay and were very popular there even in the few years in LA. Remember that two of their Super Bowl championships were when they were in Oakland and also their Super Bowl appearance in 2002. Coach Madden won 3 of 4 in games while Oakland's coach and gave the region its only consistently winning team for many years. Oakland has many more norcal fans than this map seems to indicate.

You sure read an awful lot into clicks from Facebook.

God I hope not but in the years I truly hated the Cowboys ('90s when they bested the 49ers in the NFC) it seemed I ran into Cowboys fans everywhere in the Bay Area.

I just don't know what the draw is with those Dallas Cowboys. Population wise and from large media markets, wouldn't it make more sense that as a nationally loved team, the New York Jets or New York Giants would have the most fans spread over the widest area?

As far as baseball, by far the most common cap you see outside of market is the NY Yankees. They have fans everywhere and are America's most popular baseball team, but coming from a region around Manhattan that has 25-30 million people that's not so strange. It also helps that NYY win and have so many championships in their sport, but what explains the huge draw of the Cowboys? You tell me since you are Jets fan in NY. I never see Jets gear in California but I run into a Cowboys fan every single day.

Oh come on now, the 49er's had the start of the Dynasty if you will at the hands of the Cowboys. I think the Cowboy fans can say the same about the 49ers, hate them almost as much as as the Redskins and Giants.

You are correct re: Yankees. Heck I live on the west coast and when the Yank's come to town to play the Angels, there tends to be more black and white pin stripe fans in the stands then red. Me being one of those Yankee fans! :D

Funny thing is, going by that map, absolutely no one likes the Jets. And really, if you took a snapshot six years ago or four years from now, the colors would probably shift, based on who was cooking with gas around that time.

Dallas is certainly cooking at least being seen as #2 in SI's power rankings. Ha, ha and Seattle is #11. Who thought? I was afraid Seattle would probably be unbeaten this time in the season given their previous year and spanking of the Broncos in the Super Bowl.

I have to admit just from an artistic sense, I like blue and the Yankees and Cowboys have nice looking uniforms/logos. Something tells me if both the Yankees and Cowboys (arguably biggest out of market fan base) had orange uniforms, they may not be as popular. My SF Giants look like orange prison garb by comparison. Tomorrow night though AT&T Park is going to look like one huge, angry prison colony bearing down on the KC Royals with the prospect of the Giants actually winning the World Series in their own home city for a change. SF winning in 5 would be great for SF fans but possibly make the Giants the most hated team in the MLB behind the damn Yankees, of course. See #5 below:

Is that that base ball thingy? Did SF one year lose the most lengthy world series ever, in 4 games?

That was rough but both towns, SF and Oakland, had much bigger things to worry about than the game. The earthquake killed my neighbor's co-worker the day he didn't come into work.

Study: NFL Referees May Be Biased Toward Disciplined Teams.

HOUSTON—Shedding light on the suspected league-wide officiating trend, a new study published Wednesday by researchers at Baylor University has suggested that NFL referees may in fact display a clear bias toward disciplined football teams. “According to our analysis of officiating decisions over the past several seasons, referees do appear to distinctly favor teams that exhibit poise and play in accordance with NFL rules and regulations,” said lead researcher Randall Levitz, explaining that on-field rulings disproportionately punish teams that frequently jump offsides, engage in excessive celebrations, or shove opponents after a play is blown dead. “In any given game, for example, the team that repeatedly delivers cheap-shot late hits on the opposing quarterback is targeted for roughing the passer penalties far more often than the team that does not do that. And accordingly, maintaining focus and professionalism throughout all four quarters yields a distinct and, frankly, totally unfair competitive advantage.” The study went on to confirm that the blatant officiating bias has directly affected the outcome of virtually every game involving the Detroit Lions over the past five seasons.

I see nothing wrong with this.
It's like paying "interest" or "dividends".

Green Bay VS Denver in SB. From what I see right now, barring injuries and judging on predictable performances. Cowboys and Eagles always choke. Brady has no team and can only win so many games by himself. Cinci and Baltimore will slowly fade. Take it to the bank.

I agree in some sense but never doubt NE they will be a playoff contender lol

That will be a great one if it happens with QB with best numbers versus the QB with some of the biggest numbers. But gotta get back to World Series baseball this particular moment to bottom of 9th to see if young boy, fat man, and methhead can give us game 3.

and the Cowboys haven't really played too many truly good teams...

but ya never know. love to see them lose to the Broncos in the SB.

I'm enjoying watching the progress of Derek Carr. Good kid, playing for his hometown team... now if he can just live through the next few seasons.

I used to hate them when they were a threat and it was 90s Niners always on a collision course with 90s Cowboys. In last three NFC title games they weren't there. ;) The NFC Championship in those days was the Super Bowl and a guarantee at a Lombardi trophy. As good as the Bills and Chargers were, they were not on the same page as Cowboys, Packers, or Niners, and much of NFC.

Well, you guys were right. Tom Brady sucks and should hang them up asap. ;)

30/35, 354 yds, 5 tds :D

Good team win for the Pats, bring on Peyton next week.. our secondary is playing better than it's been in a long time.

Can we wait for them to play some good teams before re-crowning Brady Queen. :D

That's not gonna happen against the Broncos.

And what about Big Ben ?

Roethlisberger completed eight of 11 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns on throws that covered at least 15 yards and he became the first quarterback in NFL history with multiple 500-yard passing games.

Six TD's and 522 Yds.

Not bad for an old fogey.

Wait, I thought Cincinnati was a "good team" before we steamrolled them?

Pretty funny after all the blowhards talking about how Brady was cooked, he's off to the 2nd best start of his career.
Do we know yet if Cinnci is good? We know the Bears are imploding from within. We really don't know how good the Pats are. Lets see how they do when they play Payton and Friends.
