Brady, and a great outing against the Bears. Though I think it was more of the bears failure then the Pats awesomeness. They'll have a tougher opponent next week.

As for the Jets, I tried and it was hard, but I really was rooting for them. If they won, we'd gain more separation between Buffalo. I wonder of Ryan will last the season at this rate. Even his interview at the end of the game looked like he was a dead man walking.

I am shocked there's no Green Bay fan counties in Michigan outside of the UP. There are a ton of GB fans in Michigan. Mostly people who they or their parents became disenfranchised with the laughingstock Lions that they converted to the best NFC North team outside of Chicago.

Speaking of the Lions, what a stupid way to win yesterday in London. That was as much of a Lions win as it gets. A win is a win, I suppose.

Any good QB's coming out of next years draft? The Jets should really consider trading up for the top draft pick (if they don't end up getting it themselves) and taking a QB..... Raiders have Carr it looks like they are going to stick with him, and the Jags have Bortles so maybe the Jets can wrangle away the top pick even if they give up a few later round picks and get a QB.... That's assuming there are any good ones coming up.... I don't follow college much.

Yes I'm already thinking about the Draft by week 8... such is life as a Jets fan :(

Before picking a QB (I'd rather see them sign an established QB), we need a coach who knows how to develop a QB. Rex has failed miserably at that, twice.

As for Idzik, how the hell do you go into the season with their current crop of CBs (most injured) when Rex's defense is all about having strong corners?

Agreed, the Bears are a crappy team this year. They seem to be imploding from within. That said, it was an impressive performance by Brady and the Patriots. I think the Broncos will beat the Patriots, but I don't think it will be a blowout.

First, I think the GM (or the owner) needs to fire Ryan now. In a sense its like putting down a sick animal. Lets be merciful and just pull the plug now instead of waiting until the end of the season.

Second, the owner needs to fire Idzik for gross negligence, leaving so much cap space on the table, not having any decent QB, or corner backs. Its really a huge error on his part.

Third - as you mentioned sign a veteran QB who can give you two or three years.

Fourth, draft a QB and don't play him.

I think Smith was a gifted QB, I don't know if he was good enough to be a starter, but he has shown sparks of greatness. Ryan totally failed in growing this QB, that's the second one in a row that he's basically failed on. I think throwing rookie quarterbacks into the role of starter just doesn't work for the most part. I'm not Cowboys fan, but Parcels did it right, by keeping Romo benched as long as he did.

Well, you guys were right. Tom Brady sucks and should hang them up asap. ;)

30/35, 354 yds, 5 tds :D

Good team win for the Pats, bring on Peyton next week.. our secondary is playing better than it's been in a long time.

That is going to be a great game! I have a feeling who ever we see win this match up, we just might see the winner representing the AFC in the SB!

Agreed. Ryan should have been fired with the last GM.

It seems like its pretty hard to just sign a good quality established QB in the NFL. very rarely will a team let a QB like that walk away without signing them to an extension. It happens of course (manning when the colts got luck, favre when the Packers were ready for Rodgers etc..) but I think its very rare to get one that's not on the downside of their career. In today's game you have to strike gold in the Draft with a QB that's ready to play day one.

Brady is back and if team can come back like him, then they will be in AFC Championship Game again. There's still a ton of football left so anything can happen but I think the Pats have made adjustments to make up for poor, early play. The Broncos could very well be there to meet them. The NFC is all topsy turvy and Niners may not make it to the championship again. I hope the Niner's D finds a groove like the previous years.

Absolutely, and without the Seahawks like they were defensively in past years, it could be a good chance for the AFC again. But watch out for Dallas.

Being a die hard Dallas fan, I will not hold my breath, given our past history with **cough** Romo **cough** I will wait till the final second of the game before I celebrate! But I like what you are saying! :D:D:D

Romo does his job since in TDs, Yards, INT, etc (QB rating) he's top 5 of all time and ahead of even Tom Brady. But the rest of Dallas, like RBs and receivers, have to put out and Dallas D has to hold up. Dallas is best in NFC and they have to crush the Redskins tonight in order to keep up momentum enough to be a threat to the talent of SF, Seattle, and Green Bay type teams.

The NFC is probably key again this year and the NFC champion should handily win the Super Bowl this year if anything like last year with strong D teams. Without a strong D, guys like Manning will take you out. With a strong D, the highly rated passers in Super Bowl (like Kap, Peyton Manning, last two Tom Brady Pats SB teams, and peak years John Elway) can fall by the wayside.

Dallas looks like a complete team for a change and a good D as has often taken Romo out, can scramble a QBs mind so much that he consistently misses open receivers. Manning was like that last year and Brady didn't see his open men in the two Super Bowls against the Giants. Unfortunately, my Kap not only missed open receivers, but often paid no attention even when he wasn't under pressure in 2012 Super Bowl but that showed just how green he was. At times, it still looks like he's learning even though he has the arm, accuracy, and ability to scramble. We should have kept a more steady and seasoned Alex Smith and we would have received that 6th Super Bowl win.

Ah yes, both Dallas and SF are trying to get that illustrious sixth Super Bowl title!!!!!

Agreed re: Dallas, the defense is looking good and the offense, now that they are not solely depending on Romo is looking pretty darn good too boot!

I hear you. Just so ****ing tired of their QB woes since I'm a kid. The second coming of Namath was Richard Todd, then Ken O'Brien, then Chad
Pennington, then Mark Sanchez, then Geno.

I thought SF was going to get their 6th with Steve Young but he never did it.

I also thought if there was a 5th title other than SF it would be you guys with Romo somewhere in there, but of all things it was a four ring Steelers who went to Super Bowl four extra times and got two more rings. Your took care of Steelers in the 90s and Green Bay took out Steelers most recently but Pittsburgh has 6 and they lead the NFL. I still think the Steelers continue to potentially be a threat and are at least a mini-dynasty since 2005.

They are one of the five teams I hope lose ever single week!

For the longest time I hoped it was you (Dallas) who lost every week but since the triplets I have not been that scared. But when you were good on and off after that, my usually hapless Niners were completely zero threat to anybody until we got Harbaugh. The teams in the NFC who I root against or at least hope lose to Niners are Green Bay and New Orleans since they have both been to big dance recently and did well. But this year I may have to take out my anti-Dallas feelings again. (And yes I rooted against Seattle last year as did anybody in the NFC). Their swagger turned into pure arrogance but I don't know if I hated that more or their loud fans/stadium. They didn't have any Super Bowl championships but walked around as if they deserved the crown along with a press that already considered them as good as winners. They trashed talked but backed it up unlike anybody since Namath and the Jets.

But I will truly start hating Dallas again if San Francisco makes it to the postseason a couple of times but gets ousted by the Cowboys. I don't see the Cowboys as braggarts but I can't stand the Dallas owner and he needs an ego check.

1992 and 1993 were years I would like to forget and it was very hard seeing the sheer talent all around and having you use our old defensive boss Charles Haley to great effect. But I did always like Emmett Smith though as did everybody, and right now I like Romo regardless of how Dallas does but I don't want to be his victim this year.

Romo has all the skills but has that problem winning when it counts and shares that trait sometimes with the greats Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. A Dallas-Denver Super Bowl may be interesting because since everyone expects Peyton and Romo to blow it being the big game, somebody has to come out a winner regardless of individual quarterback heroics.

I think despite the errors you can attribute to other members of offense and your D, I think there is a certain roadblock/metal block Romo hits when in some big games. Romo certainly pulls it off in many big games, but inexplicably chokes in others. Gone are the days when you had perfect big game performances from Montana, Bradshaw, and Aikman where they never felt a Super Bowl loss and it's a guarantee that no matter how good you are these days, you will win some and lose some when you get to the big game.

I think, if and when he gets there next, we won't see anything less than great play if Aaron Rodgers gets there until the end of his career. His regular season numbers so far are just too high for him to have a "bad" day. I so hoped things would have been that good for Kap on the Niners but that red zone choke in the 4th showed that because you went 5 for 5 in all Super Bowls, there's just no guarantee of success. Back in the 80s I thought no bad could come of the Steelers when they got to the top but nobody expected the Steelers to beat the Cowboys in the 90s and many were even questioning the Steelers even getting that far. But they were actually a pretty deep team and I rooted for them in that Super Bowl but never realistically gave them a chance.

I don't ever see myself rooting for Steelers again with their six championships, but if they go against Seattle in the Super Bowl this season, I will be a die-hard Steelers fan that day. ;)

I swear, the Seahawks and the Panthers keep playing the same game over and over again. This game was 3 more total points and one point closer than last year.

Great game tonight.

Washington played their hearts out. Gratz to them.

Yeah, I think the cowboys thought they'd steamroll them without any effort. Washington came to play and play hard.

I don't care if the cowboys are 16-1 or 1-16 the redskins are and will always be a tough game for them. The redskin - cowboy match up is always tough. Always have been and always will be. They are thorns in each others side.

Sad to see the boys lose last night, but I think cowboy country is more worried about Tony and his back.

We have the same issue with the 49ers-Rams in the NFC west. It's never a dull game and sometimes it's the easiest place to lose a player to injury. But the Cowboys are still the most dangerous team in the NFC. Just because Romo has a reputation for blowing some big games in postseason does not mean he will always falter at a motivated team gunning for him.

It's probably going to be a Cowboys/Broncos/Patriots/Steelers/Niners or similar team that has unfinished business from a most recent postseason heartbreak that will go all the way this season.

Never overlook division games. Look no further than the 2012 seasons when the Rams had the best division record at 4-1-1 when the Seahawks and 49ers were clearly the better teams.

Yes many expected the Cowboys to win given their play this season but it's not surprising that they lost to an inferior team (at least on paper).
