I would say niners fans are way more smug than seattle fans :p (present company excluded of course)

We in Niner land were getting high on the hog, Harbaugh and great record out of the gate, thinking we were making a better move keeping Kap and ditching Smith, and then the let down of Super Bowl, and then 2013, and now not making 2014. This was several years in the making but it's humble pie.

Honestly I don't think the 49ers will make postseason next year either and it will be a time to rebuild.

Anyway, congrats to Seattle in 14 point win over Carolina.

too many defensive holes

Baltimore marched right down the field on them on numerous times, but I give the Patriots props, they stayed in the game, came back twice from 14 point deficits and beat them.

As for Seattle, no surprise, though Carolina looked a lot better then I gave them credit for.

lol.

NE will hammer them if they get by IND... and they should.

SEA or GB will hammer NE, DEN, or INDY.

whoever wins the NFC Champ game will win the SB.

I'll be surprised to see Indy getting by Denver. Manning has looked a bit shaky at the end of the season, but I think overall they're a better team. Regardless, its going to be a good game.

Agreed. That was a great game, even though I wanted the Ravens to win. The Patriots hung tough and came back twice from 14 points down. The Ravens just could never deliver the knockout blow.

ugh... the only thing worse than the patriots are their smug fans :p

Hard not to be a tad bit smug with Brady on you're side  This is his 9th AFC championship game out of his 13 seasons

too many defensive holes

You're right, defense didn't play that well, but I think it was more rust from the bye week. Our last 2 games before the bye week weren't that great either. I'm optimistic about it

I don't think anyone beats Seattle.

They are the team to beat at home. I don't think they're that unstoppable on a neutral field. Still really good though.

Also more in general, I don't see GB "smashing" anyone if they do make it to the Super Bowl. Pats and Broncos can both beat packers. If anyone who will do the smashing its more likely to be Seattle than GB, but even then I doubt it'll be as bad as last year.

That is so often the case beforehand and everybody seems to know it and was especially evident in last five years and almost exclusively through all of 1980s and 1990s (16 of 20).

In the one of the last five years that belonged to the AFC, San Francisco lost to Baltimore in what many considered an upset.

The AFC is the winner of only 12 of the last 35 Super Bowls since 1980.

When my team is not in it I usually root for the NFC team but of course this year I will root for the team that goes against Seattle in the Super Bowl. Unless something miraculous happens, I think the Seahawks will make it to the big game. Since Tom Brady and Peyton Manning both have rings, and lots of QB records between them, I want to see Andrew Luck tie one on.

Why the arbitrary cut off date of 1980? I can also say that during the 00s (2001-2010) The AFC won 7 of the 10 superbowls.

I think I have figured out the officials, they are working for Buffalo Wild Wings. Only possible reason why they would give the Cowboys all the calls.

AFC is the creampuff conference. They'll be too worried about getting their UGGs fitted before the SB :p

Idk if I'd call a league with the ravens and steelers creampuffs. Also if we can look fabulous while winning the SB more power to us ;). It's so funny how Ravens just always want to injure brady. The guy who poked brady in his eyes should be ejected. Never happens when we play the Broncos, Jets, or Steelers. It was so obvious you could see his eye swollen with a sty.

JJ paid them off against the lions and packers. Although that late hit on romo from clay mathews was blatant.

All the ladies hit on Romo.:p

Looks like the Jets are trying to hire Dan Quinn. Seattle's Defensive Coordinator. But since Seattle won they have to wait until Seattle's season ends.

Sorry to see Dan go but glad he's not going to an NFC team.

If Seattle makes it all the way the Jets are gonna get a back to back Super Bowl Winner.

Speaking of which.

Russell Wilson is the most under rated QB in the NFL. And I understand he's going to be the highest paid QB in the NFL next season.

Boy, Rogers is playing like he had only one leg.

Tough. If he wasn't injured, this game would be not as contested as it is.

Opinions on that Dez Bryant catch? I think it was a ******** call. should have been 1st down at the 1

I'm a Packers fan, but I have to agree.

The only "justification" I have is that it offsets some Cowboys-benefitting questionable calls earlier on.

The fact that the ground knocked it out of his hand meant he never had control before it hit the ground.
