I'm a Packers fan, but I have to agree.

The only "justification" I have is that it offsets some Cowboys-benefitting questionable calls earlier on.

The forward progress calls? I agree

The fact that the ground knocked it out of his hand meant he never had control before it hit the ground.

He made a move to run forward. He caught the ball then fell. If anything he fumbled and then caught it in the end zone.

Opinions on that Dez Bryant catch? I think it was a ******** call. should have been 1st down at the 1

The ball hit the ground, it came flying out of his hand as we landed and flipped around. It was not secure and he failed to show control. I couldn't see any reason not to turn it around.

Congrats on GB, they played a heck of a game - being behind most of the day, they clawed their way back

For what it's worth, IF Bryant's catch would not have been overturned, the Packers would have gotten the ball back with more than 2.5 minutes, only needing a field goal.

They would have still had a very good chance of winning the game.

It was a valid call. He did not have control as he fell, and it popped out as he hit the ground, play over. It does not matter that he caught it as it came back down, the play was dead. Yes, I was rooting against Dallas. :D

I thought it was pretty clear it was an incomplete pass live, before everyone started to discuss and analyze it - first thing I thought of was Calvin Johnson. What people need to understand that it was one continuous motion. If Dez caught the ball, stood still for 1 second and then tumbled over Sam Shields and the ball hit field, it would be a completed pass.

Whether your agree or not, sometimes the WR's bring this on themselves. Dez clearly caught the ball in the air. Instead of trying to reach or whatever he was doing, bring the ball into the body and let the play end. Sometimes the WR's try to be way too flashy and the incomplete pass is a result of that.

People complain the refs suck or don't know the rules. Hey, guess what, the ref calling the game actually knows the rules and applied his knowledge yet people still want to complain.

It's funny how people think that their biased opinions override NFL rules

Not my opinion..I don't even like the cowboys. I understand the ball wasn't a catch by RULE. The rule is bad though.

Also what made you think I had an opinion either way?

Bad rule?

In both instances where this rule has been utilized, the receivers both caught the football.

I don't want to sound like a sore Cowboys fan. The Cowboys didn't deserve to win, but that was a catch all day long. That was an amazing feat with a perfect throw and amazing catch. That's what the game is all about.

I don't care about winning and losing, those plays need to be catches.

It's only a catch when it favors the team you like ;). It's also like those physical hits which only count best when they are against the key players of the other team. I don't know why but even though the black and blue division is no longer overwhelmingly known as such, there's almost some unwritten rule about being a little extra hard hitting. Someone here mentioned something about a creampuff division and UGGs and no matter what that seems to often be pointed in the direction of the NFC West. Who else is always referred to as using finesse? Joe Montana has so much finesse on a team that has fans that like brie and chardonnay while in reality a lot of games owed as much their debt to Ronny Lott and Hacksaw Reynolds.

As far as remaining football for today, I hope the Colts hold off Peyton Manning who is by far the best comeback QB of all time in the big games. Unless you bury a guy like Peyton right off the bat, any time remaining on the clock is more than enough for Manning to pull off a score or two.

He carried the ball to the ground and lost control of it. The ball was cupped in his sticky-glove when it bounced off the turf. Him and the ball falling together (note how it is initially trying to slide past his elbow) constitute a continuation of the flight of the ball, which is interrupted when the ball hit the ground. If he had had full control of the ball, it never would have hit the ground. The reversal was the right call.

It was the right call, and it's too bad. Des Bryant used his elite talent to make a play. In return, instead of an Aaron Rodgers drive to potentially win it, we had the end to that game.

Now that it has affected a playoff game, that rule will change.
