I don't hate him. I just think he's an ass. Tickets were sold to the media event and the interviews aired all over the place, including the NFL network. Believe me, if nobody watched, they wouldn't make a big deal about it. NFL fans, especially the ones whose team is in a Super Bowl care what these guys have to say. He certainly isn't donating all of the millions he makes to play in the league as protest, is he? As I said before, the NFL has a lot of absolutely stupid rules, but at the end of the day the people who buy jerseys and pay to see him play actually watch these interviews. Answering a few stupid questions is certainly a small price to pay, don't you think?
That said, it certainly doesn't mean he isn't a good player, which is why people want to wear his jersey.
According to the NFL shop, Johnny Manziel has the #3 selling jersey behind Peyton and Rusell Wilson. I guess that means he's awesome and a completely square guy, right?
Also, I don't think you'd ever survive being a Yankees fan. Or a Patriots fan. All of the "hate" might be a bit overwhelming!![]()
I would never survive being a "fan" as you think of a "fan" period.
Let me set a couple things straight.
I do not like the way any football, basketball, baseball. Any sports player gets paid millions of dollars. This includes the brash like Lynch and the glittering smile of Brady.
In my opinion EVERY high paid sports person should NOT be a role model for any child.
Why do people want their child to look up to a person that makes millions of dollars playing a "sport".
I don't buy jerseys,posters or memorabilia .
Watching a game is entertainment. Just like going to a movie. The movie is what attracts me. I couldn't care less about the personal life of the actor.
In essence that is what football players are. Actors.
The NFL Super Bowl Media day is a huge commercial. I see no reason why these players should be forced to go other than to make more money for more millionaires.
If a player doesn't want to go he shouldn't be faced with a $500,000 fine.
