That was a sad hockey game for team USA and we are still #2 unable to unseat the best yet again. They have the most in women's and tied for most on men's side. Canada really needed this one having lost in the men's figure skating being the heavy favorite there but there was that famous Canadian curse on men's skating. It could be now said there's a similar curse on our female hockey team.
I guess it's mixed emotions for our team overall as it is for team Canada. I was hoping for a medal or two in women's skating but no go this time around. It has been very entertaining.

can't believe the U.S. gave up a two goal lead in the third period. They were playing not to lose, and that is the worst thing you can do.
teams tend to relax more when they have a 1 goal cushion, but if you wait until the other team scores to try and fight back it is already too late.
yes, its like an all star game but they actually care and play defense. Kane needs to get the boot on the US power play, even here on the blackhawks (my home team) all he does is stickhandle and waste time, the puck needs to be moved side to side for chances to be created. I hope they come out in period 3 with some fire and don't wait too long to try and come back because canada is a great hockey team.
USA couldn't handle Canada's depth. The Kesler & Backes lines matched the Crosby & Toews lines well but USA had no answer for Canada's 3rd 1st line of Getzlaf/Perry/Benn.
Canada's defense is miles above USA's too.
What a phenomenal hockey game though.. hope Canada wins gold so Bergy can get his 2nd gold medal.

The united states didnt play like they wanted to win after the first period. Hockey is canadas game.
Canada is now guaranteed a medal on the men's hockey side and own the gold for the women. It's been another good Olympics for them. I hope we get something out of this men's team. If Canada gets gold it will be a record 9th and if they don't they still have more medals than anybody else in the sport. While I wasn't rooting for them it was still a joy to see a team click so well together.
I am 0-4 in sports I have followed in the last few months with Dodgers besting Giants in NL West (as well as seeing our closer sign with them), Seahawks besting Niners (and everybody else) in NFC West, Canada women's team taking the gold from our team who almost had it, and now their men's team beating us to get to gold medal round while we go to bronze medal round. I also wanted skier Lindsey Vonn to do well and she didn't even get here. It seems lately like anybody I get really interested in does not win. I didn't follow Sage Kostenburg or Mikaela Shiffrin, nor was very much aware of them, and they both got gold. By the time I get into them, if I do, then somebody else will be tops in their sport. As for overall medal count, we have done very well but I wanted at least one gold in hockey.
