Interesting take here on Wilson's success vs. RGIII's lack thereof:

Interesting, definitely. But I don't think you can discount the coaching and the teams around them when you are comparing the 2 guys. Would Russell Wilson be as successful on the Redskins? Would RG3 have had to do as much as he think he did with the defense and running game of the Seahawks?

Don't get me wrong, Wilson may be better, but he also landed in an amazing situation that was well suited for his talents. I think RG3 was hurt by his coaches who almost forced him to do too much. He deserves some of the blame, but man, he wasn't put in the best position to succeed IMO.

The Redskins as a whole are a mismanaged mess. RG3 isn't perfect, but they've basically destroyed his confidence and all these changes they made from year to year certainly don't help. At least Snyder seems to not be meddling as much as he used to.

I think a lot of it is the culture, Bellichick is a lightening rod for controversy. He was caught up in cheating scandals, never says a damn thing at press conferences. The whole team is so cryptic it adds to the conspiracy. Face it, this team is not open about anything.

Can you really blame him? The media are nothing but leeches who try to stir up ****. The best way to avoid that is to say as little as possible.

Let's face it too, the "cheating scandals" have all been ******** except for "spygate", and even that one was blown out of proportion.

Anyways, some juicy revelations today in the defamegate saga.

Chris Mortonson, who had the initial lie of a report about "11 of 12 footballs being 2+ PSI under", was going to appear on WEEI this morning to address that report. He bailed at the last minute. It's now been reported that his source for this lie of a report was none other than Mike Kensil, NFL VP of Gameday Ops, who many have suspected was the ringleader of this witch hunt from the very beginning.

The strings are unraveling for the NFL, and it's becoming more and more clear this was a setup and a witch hunt from day one and the Patriots never did anything wrong.

The Giants and Cowboys and niners have won their share of Superbowls but nobody goes after them the way the Patriots get it.

Part of it is definitely BB's attitude (he's incredibly rude to the press), but part of it is the social media we're surrounded by. Think about the false info leaked to Chris Mortenson and the effect it had in mere hours or days following the AFCCG. I would be willing to bet if the 90's Cowboys were winning multiple Super Bowls nowadays the press would be falling all over themselves getting 'scoops' on them.

EDIT: Also, I want to apologize for my rudeness yesterday. I was irritated about something else and took it out on you. This isn't Twitter.

The emails between the Patriots and the league that were released today by New England make Jeff Pash look incredibly bad as he stonewalled while the leaks were flying. Between that and the Kensil report, I'm not surprised the league is suddenly willing to sit down and talk with the NFLPA. Amazing that Kraft was sitting on those emails since February and didn't release them until now. And it's possible they have more.

I'm just glad Seattle signed the guy. Now only if Chancellor would come back down to earth and realize he already signed a contract Seattle might be better off.

Not sure where Seattle stands in terms of cap room, but it feels like he's underpaid. Hard to say he's the 8th best safety in the league.

EDIT: just saw his salary for this season. Definitely underpaid.

He's a linebacker.

nvm I thought he was a linebacker. He is a safety. I was thinking of Wagner.

I don't blame the 49ers either, and I would be surprised to see him picked up with another team. 3 duis in 3 years is pretty much it. It shows you haven't learned from past mistakes.

Agreed. Some people just don't seem to think that the rules/laws of society apply to them. I don't see another team picking him up because I'm pretty sure the NFL is going to level some sort of suspension on him.

I'm sure at least one of the Ravens, Raiders, or Cowboys are calling up his agent to schedule a tryout...

They don't. You or I would have been in jail for the 2 previous DUIs.

I hate to say this, but given the current NFL Personal Conduct policy, one wonders will any team pick up Aldon Smith--especially considering he may be subject to an 8 to 10 game suspension (remember, the six-game suspension is a suggested minimum).

As I said in an earlier post, I don't see another team picking him up with a probable suspension and all of his baggage.

What, the Patriots don't sign felons?

If the league will take back a child beater, a few wife beaters and a dog killer, surely they will allow a few DUI's.

Hernandez? Remember when the Patriots cut him before he was even charged?

The Ravens definitely help cover up for felons so they can try to keep them on the field. See: Lewis, Ray, and Rice, Ray.

And don't the Cowboys have someone on their roster who killed a teammate while DUI a couple years ago? Smith hasn't even killed anyone yet, I'm sure he'd fit right in down there in Jerry's World.

Hernandez just killed 3 people while he was on the team.

Dont sleep on the Dolphins. That Dline is just disgustingly good, and they are going to set the tone each game. The offense is going to be much improved, and if the line holds up, I expect Tannehill to have an Pro Bowl year.
